feminism

I wanted to post a comment on the most recent feminism blog, but I see the comments had been disabled. Let it be known, I will not attack anyone on their personal opinions and perceptions. I don't see a productive furthering the discussion of a serious topic if we are in a sense intimidating others from contributing.

The videos the previous blogger posted have very valid points that were being made and I encourage others on checking out what is being said.

The exact anger and frustrations that men may currently feel are the exact same emotions that drove women to take the extreme stances they have today. I feel there is no constructive and mutually beneficial way in becoming more understanding of each other if we are going to perpetuate these negative behaviors.

But...that is just my thoughts...dunno

Anyway, the comment I wanted to make on his blog was:

Last night, a buddy and I went out. We were both standing by the bar and a woman and her friend came up to the bar next to my buddy. From what I think I know about women, now days, a lot of women need to give you the green light to approach them. (maybe I was informed wrongly). But, my buddy is more the traditional guy. He just went ahead and tried to talk to them. Boy, did he get an ear full. *&%^ off, why you talking to me you #%$#...the lady started screaming at him.

Just today, I seen two younger women broke down with their car. Granted I seen that while I was driving by the parking lot...they seemed to be confused/perhaps stuck on what to do.

I just wonder if they were maybe not waiting for a man to show up to help them?

My thought was...after these relatively two current situations that I personally witnessed....Is it that men are only good to women when they are needed? I hear it a lot, I only want a man around when I want them around....some women say.

Not to mention...I am sure some of you were waiting for my input. laugh

God Himself Could Not Sink This Ship

Words uttered by Caledon Hockley played By Billy Zane in the classic 1997 version of Titanic. The one James Cameron directed. By the way, James Cameron was very interested in studying Titanic and went down there himself to see where he went wrong in his film. I really respect that. But I digress. That’s a whole other blog. This blog is about my passion to relive the ill-fated ocean liner of years, no decades past. And to fulfill my dream to travel aboard the currently being built tribute, never a replacement, Titanic II.

Nobody claimed to have thought that Titanic was in fact unsinkable...at first. That was embellished by Hollywood. Titanic was indeed sinkable much to everyone’s dismay. In ways unimaginable to both the ship’s captain, engineer, and all the passengers in her wake. So what makes Titanic II virtually unsinkable? I say virtually because Titanic IIs voyages are currently being unrealized because she is currently being built. Which features defy nature? Nature by its very essence is undefiable. You cannot predict happenstance nor can you defy nature as proved by the original ocean liners sinking. It’s only considered unsinkable by our finite imaginations. Posing no contender to nature. Which is very much false. One can argue that nature has no contenders and must be respected.

First off we must thank the Australian billionaire Clive Palmer for putting the funds toward this project one that exceeds the funds of it’s predecessor due to inflation of course, duh. But I digress again. I want to give him credit for making my dream and passion of mine to sail aboard the Titanic, of what we knew her to be aboard the Titanic II. The current cost of the funding project is around 500 million and she is to set sail in 2022. Her first feature that I will mention is that she is true to the original model, just a bit broader to accommodate the physics of staying afloat in a crisis. She has third, second, and first class boarding accommodations, exactly like the original. I probably will stay in third class as the second and first class is way out of my price range rendering me subject to roommates, ugh, but ultimately, I do not care about where I stay in the ship. I can sleep in the cargo hold for all I care. Most of my days will be spent on the leisure decks and up on the main deck enjoying the cool Atlantic breeze and sunshine on my face. Enjoying the heck out of life.

Oops! There I go again...okay where was I...ahem. Oh yes. Another difference is that there will be plenty of lifeboats this time. Enough to accommodate every soul on board. Do I trust humans though?! Oh heck no! I will be bringing my own life jacket aboard. You never know what could or will happen. When a crisis happens and people panic they act irrationally. Someone could grab five life jackets and throw them overboard in an attempt to make a raft, and just like that you are without a life jacket. Anything is possible in a crisis. You have to think like that and always be prepared.

The hull in the original model was weak compared to the impact of an iceberg. To ensure it’s sturdiness the hull of the current model will be wielded shut and not riveted. The water pressure forced the rivets off encouraging faster flooding and rendered the water tight compartment worthless. And it was rumored that during her trial tests that there was an explosion in one of the steam rooms weakening the hull. The maiden voyage went on despite all this. I think that may have been true because there are too many things that have to had gone wrong to explain how weak the hull became. There have also been rumors that the ship was bombed and that’s how it split in half. Some of the passengers said that they heard a loud explosion but that also could have been due to the water pressure exploding the ships compartments and also steam pressure. It’s all so interesting but there’s no way I can prove a lot of the information that I read. (To be continued in comments section...)

Not a pretty sight

Favourite stretchy white top which is a bit too dingy now with age to go public
Favourite old blue pullover, so soft after years of use it is like wearing a cobweb
My old painting slax - a bit of a splashy painter, me, so they had to be retired from public life. Two weeks and counting, they are a tiny bit tighter despite the daily exercise routine uh oh
Slip-on trainers - one very short step above slippers laugh
No makeup
No shower today - washing my hands every single time I touch anything outside my house, in this dry country, I am saving water elsewhere grin

Yeah I know, wow. The queue can form to the right. No shoving, in fact 2 metres apart please. rolling on the floor laughing

I hate living in lockdown but you only have to look at the difference in figures to see it IS worth it. On March 11 I starting tracking the countries where I know people, on a spreadsheet. Spain had around 2000 cases. The USA had around 1000.

Yes we have terrifying figures despite the lockdown but - instead of having double as many as the USA, we have half.

But I am not a pretty sight. sigh anyone else prepared to share their isolation look ...

Edited to add this photo rolling on the floor laughing

Unboxing a stored Martini Henry from the Royal Armory of Nepal

In the late 1870s after a brief period of conflict the British East Indies Trading Company arrived at a peaceful agreement with the tiny kingdom of Nepal. One prong of this agreement was that henceforth England would supply arms and munitions to the army of Nepal. As England was then replacing their Martini Heny rifles Mk II and Mk III with the newer Mark IV, England began shipping Brown Bess muskets, Enfield muskets, Snider rifles and Mark II rifles and carbines to Nepal from all over the British Empire. The first shipment was in 1881. In a few years the shipments included old cannon, Gatling guns and many forms of swords and early pistols.

When England modernized to their .303 cartridge many Mk IV Martini Henry rifles made their way to Nepal. By then local blacksmiths had also begun making their own versions of the Martini Henry rifle for the Nepal King's armay. When the King of England made a friendly visit to Nepal upon observing the old Martini Henry rifles he ordered that they be replaced by the newer Enfield bolt action rifles and this was done. By the end of WW II Nepal had other sources for their weaponry.

What was not generally known in the West was until the year 2002, was that unlike other countries which destroy or sell old weaponry when it is no longer needed, Nepal stored the items. In the 1890s the King ordered that all of the older weapons should be greased, then placed in one of the old palaces.

In 2002 Nepal's King and Queen were assasinated at dinner by their son who died in the fighting that ensued. The countrie's Prime Minister then announced he should be the new King. This plunged the country into Civil War.. During a lull in the fighting an American antiquity dealer while visiting Nepal heard a rumor of an old arsenal which may hold antique weapons. He nosed around and eventually was given permission to explore the old palace and make an offer if he was interested. The company was IMA and the find is easily described as the find of the century. IMA negotiated and purchased the entire contents of the castle. There are several videos on YouTube about the purchase.

IMA bought the entire contents of the former King's armory. Three whole floors of palace with literally tens of thousands of rifles, muskets, swords, pistols and bayonets. Cannons, Maxim and Gatling guns too, as well as natve to Nepal antique weapons not previously seen in the West.

Many of the weapons found in the arsenal were of sufficient rarity outside of Nepal's arsenal that specimens in the West were valued at tens of thousands of dollars. Some weapons, such as the Nepal Birda crank fed guns were only referenced in old books, with no specimens known to still exist, until IMA found a half dozen intact specimens in the old Nepalese aromory.

How many weapons? Over 31 tractor trailers full. Almost a quarter ton of customs paperwork was needed to remove them from Nepal and get them into the US. There were logistical problems ranging from simple, such as how to get a bunch of cannon off the third floor of the palace (simple, dismantle a palace wall, then use a crane to lift and lower them) to more complex ones such as arranging a secure convoy of 31 trucks to drive the weapons from the mountains of Nepal to a location where they could be securely loaded onto container ships for voyage back to the United States for sorting and sale

Because the British used the weapons, then shipped them as used to Nepal, many of the cache items had and have direct physical ties to major historical events, Brown Bess muskets possibly used in the American Revolution or the War of 1812, Enfield muskets of the P63 type (listed as one cause of India's Sepoy Mutiny), Martini Henry rifles that had seen service against the Zulu nation in Natal, Snider rifle's from battles on the plains of Ethiopia, etc.

Like I told you on my previous blog that i am here just for fun. Yess.... Just want to have fun before I enter a real world.

At first, when my friend talked about Connecting singles I thought this site just same like other dating site, only crowded by fake persons... means they put fake data and fake photo. honest I did it.

Join the blog is not an intentional .. here I realize that not all members are fake. We are able to know people from their writing, their thoughts. Before I post my comments or my blog, I followed some blogs to get my interest...and yes blog has grabbed my attention. My attention to someone... he looks gorgeous to me.

I talked with my new blogger friend to ask about him.. she gives information abt him, I feel good to know him better even though via chains messages.

Hey you... I feel trapped by my own thoughts. but why should I deny that I liked you ... wish I could have fun with you.... wherever you are... and hope you read this blog.

It's Boring Everywhere

It was christmas in prison
And the food was real good
We had turkey and pistols
Carved out of wood
And I dream of her always
Even when I dont dream
Her names on my tongue
And her blood's in my stream.

Chorus:
Wait awhile eternity
Old mother natures got nothing on me
Come to me
Run to me
Come to me, now
Were rolling
My sweetheart
Were flowing
By god!

She reminds me of a chess game
With someone I admire
Or a picnic in the rain
After a prairie fire
Her heart is as big
As this whole goddamn jail
And shes sweeter than saccharine
At a drug store sale.

Chorus:

The search light in the big yard
Swings round with the gun
And spotlights the snowflakes
Like the dust in the sun
Its christmas in prison
Therell be music tonight
Ill probably get homesick
I love you. goodnight.

Chorus:

How locked down is lockdown in your area -

yes yes no questions allowed but seriously, how confined are you in your area?

Tuesday I had to do an emergency trip as a passenger with my dog and it required applying for authorisation for 2 people in a car. The authorisation had to be printed off for presentation on request. I then sat in the back seat on the far side with the dog in gloves and mask. Me and driver, I mean. Not the dog.

Just wondered how that compared to what most people would have to go through to get a sick dog to a vet - if anything. The fine if we hadn't got the authorisation would have been around 1000 euros and potentially being turned back.

Would really help if any comments included country or even province / state. It could be interesting.
