The games we play !

Most people play games for fun (computer games, etc)

Now what about the games, for ur fun but not the other person's ?

Manipulation is natural to most. How many times have u coerced someone into doing something ur way ?

The manipulators, think they r very clever doing so. They can manipulate in the boardroom and private lives.

Why do u need to play games with people's lives to achieve ur goals ?

(or)

Does it just come naturally to u ?

Having a family

We are all on this planet because we were born from another human. If you do not already know, to naturally have a child/family, it takes two people of the opposite sex to procreate.

I do not know how norms, culture, and society works across the globe, so I can only reference the country I live in and how it operates.

It has been always the man's duty to approach the woman and take the initiative on creating the harmonious bond, where the couple eventually make a family in many cases (average family size 2 1/2 kids).

The man brought home the bacon and the woman fried it up in the pan.

The woman, man, and children lived a life under one roof and given our human nature, they bonded.

In some cases, that did not happen. There were tensions, but not in all cases. At worse, the man knew he was a father and the mother knew she was a mother....very rarely did it happen that the parents did not recognize themselves as parents.

Fast forward to today with feminism....and in many cases life is not like it was 20+ years ago. The man has become less valuable to some feminist women. I do not know the numbers or percentages on this...but they have become less valuable.

Our human nature, both men and women, are to procreate...otherwise our s*xual urges would not exist. These urges are beyond our control...they are innate. So with that said, it is our nature, both men and women, to produce offspring.

Now in traditional days...I would argue even today (because some women like to have their cake and eat it too) the female gender was at an advantage for having the opportunity to have offspring. Because of the tradition of men approaching women, they had ample more opportunity to engage in practices to produce offspring. Does that make sense? If she is getting approached by men and she is feeling her natural urges at a particular time, she then chooses to "engage." Some women got approached by men hundreds of times a week...some maybe ten times a week. In everyone of these cases, if she wanted to "engage", she could simply oblige.

With men, they didn't have that luxury. They might approach hundreds of different women per week, or some men maybe ten per week...and not get any female takers. The bottom line is, women decide. He had to prove his worth to the woman. She needed to know that the man was going to be there for her and not leave her high and dry...fending for the care of the family on her own. In addition, if the woman was not in the mood..no go. In addition, if the woman was not attracted to him...no go. In addition, if her friends gave the thumbs down...no go. Most men had it fairly tough...that is even in traditional days.

Today we have feminism. Even in traditional days, a man had to get "lucky" to get a woman in his life. The feminist days are going to require even more luck.

Now what about abortion? Say there is a man and woman couple together in today's society and they engage in their nature given urges and procreate. The man wants a child but the woman does not. She has a right to end the pregnancy.

With more difficulty of man finding a mate and the female having a right to abort....

When coming to genders, does that give the female more power over life than the male?

If so, is it fair?

I don't know myself...but a question to ponder...I think anyway.

Think out of the Box

Thinking outside the box (also thinking out of the box or thinking beyond the box) is a metaphor that means to think differently, unconventionally, or from a new perspective. This phrase often refers to novel or creative thinking.

The catchphrase, or cliché, has become widely used in business environments, especially by management consultants and executive coaches, and has been referenced in a number of advertising slogans. To think outside the box is to look further and to try not thinking of the obvious things, but to try thinking of the things beyond them.

Imagination, also called the faculty of imagining, is the ability to form new images and sensations in the mind that are not perceived through senses such as sight, hearing, or other senses. Imagination helps make knowledge applicable in solving problems and is fundamental to integrating experience and the learning process.

Okay, the challenge is: decision, decision, decision

Being retired but don't have enough money to live on as originally planned is truly a challenge for me these days.

Okay, I can keep living in California, one of the most expensive county in the nation and keep working until I die, but close to my children and grand children whom I adore and love, or move to France, live modestly with a part time job or retire in the Philippines where I can live like a queen (no rent, water bills, and cheap way to live based on the dollar worth). Live back in Cali every summer and go to PI every winter. I am strong and healthy so the least of my worry is health care.

Right now I am tired of working full time just so I can continue traveling but if I stop working I would live very miserly and that is not an option that is favorable for me.

So what should I do? I guess the challenge goes on unresolved.frustrated

Do you guys have any challenges that are wrapped around your leg, it feels like you are dragging a ball of chains?

Anyways, I am just venting. I guess. Venting is cathartic isn't it?

Thanks for reading my blog.

Blast From The Past

Embedded image from another site

A lot of us remember a simpler time: before the internet, cell phones, video games, and computers. When we were young, we played outside instead of spending time shut in our rooms. We knew our neighbors and kept our doors unlocked at night.

DAYS OF SUMMER

As kids, the biggest thing we looked forward to was summer vacation. It was golden. Months stretched before us with endless possibilities. We didn’t dare utter the words, “I’m bored,” because our parent’s could find plenty of chores to occupy our time. We stayed outside until the sun went down and my dad stood on the back porch and whistled for us to come home. If he had to whistle twice, we were in trouble.

CARTOON TIME

Saturdays were always the best day of the week, because it meant Saturday morning cartoons. Looking back, I realize just how violent some of those cartoons were. They were filled with s*xual innuendo or inside jokes that only adults understood. But no matter, the TV would be cranked up as we stared wide-eyed at the colorful, frenetic, jangle of morning bliss.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween is, hands down, the biggest kid holiday. We looked forward to it all year. Some of us had money to get the coveted store bought costumes. I remember sweltering under a rigid plastic mask, hair tangled in the rubber band and visibility at nil. I still remember the smell of those plastic masks as the sweat ran down my face and into my eyes. Other kids made due with homemade costumes consisting of a sheets, cardboard boxes or garbage bags. Oh, the possibilities of garbage bags.

We all competed to see who go to the most houses and get the biggest haul of candy. We knew what houses gave out the best treats, and the houses to avoid who gave out ribbon candy and black licorice. The home made treats were the best. I looked forward to the popcorn balls and the rice crispy treats. I never traded those. My brother and I would go into strangers houses, waiting for candy, and nothing bad would happen.

SLED RIDING

We would pile on a toboggan, clutching the person in front of us, screaming the whole way down as the wind reddened our cheeks and stole the breath from our lungs. As I trudged up the hill, dragging my sled behind me, I swear the hill was much bigger going up. We would slide down that hill all day until it got dark. It felt like the longest trek dragging that sled home as I finally noticed how numbness in my fingers, toes and nose. When I finally got home, I couldn’t take off my snow suit because the zipper was frozen shut.

WHERE’S MY SNOW DAY?

I remember walking to school in the snow. Snow days were rare for us in Ohio. As long as the plows could clear the roads, we went to school. My mom would bundle us in so many layers, I could barely put my arms down. When we got to school, the teacher had to help us out of our layers because our mom’s had bundled us so tightly. I remember sitting in class doing school work as our outside layers dried on hooks at the back of the classroom and hearing the tap, tap, tap of water hitting the hardwood floor as the snow melted and the scent of wet wool permeated the air.

NOSTALGIA

Looking back, I find myself thinking back to a simpler time, when people took the time to notice the little things. Today, life seems busier, faster-paced and more frenzied. Everyone is in such a hurry. My children don’t know what it’s like to lay in the grass and look for shapes in the clouds, go snipe hunting, look for earthworms to go fishing or lay on the roof of a tree house watching the stars wink on one by one.

Halloween in Spain?

Quick question. Halloween stuff appearing in shops. In sa treat-or-treat very much to friends houses only. In Scotland guising was well escorted but every house. Will I get witches and demons at my door and what will they expect if I do?

Is there a phrase or more I should learn?

How do I say 'bugger off I've run out' in Spanish?
