Russia!

Ah, Russia. The country that has given us SO much laughter, amazement and rage.

This is a transcontinental country in Eastern Europe and North Asia, that is widely considered to be the largest country in the World, measuring a WHOPPING 6,612,073 square miles. The population of Russia is 146,793,744 people, making it the 9th most populous country in the World. The President is Vladimir Putin.

The official currency is Rubles, which is not worth a lot. 1 Ruble is 16 US cents, so if you want to invest in property, there's your shot!

Russia is a PAINFULLY beautiful country, once you get out into the countryside. I mean, look at this!

This is the Sayan Mountains, in the southern part of Russia

Besides breathtaking beauty, Russia is also known for this:

YouTube is packed with stuff like this! I once asked my old co-worker Ivan (that was his real name, by the way) from Russia, why they drive like that. He told me, that Russian people are very proud, so nobody can tell them anything or make them do anything. If a Russian wants to drive through the gap 3 inches too small for his car, he's gonna drive through it, dammit!

It might also have something to do with driving schools being corrupt. There are driving rules in Russia, but they are being ignored - spectacularly.

Now, being that we are talking about Russia, we HAVE to talk about the elephant in the room - alcohol!

You see, Russia has some of the cheapest alcohol you can buy. 0.5 liters of quality vodka is $3.01 The government raised the prices three years ago. Back then, the same bottle of vodka would cost you $2.8.. So, they have raised the price by 31 cents. For a bottle of vodka. No wonder they drive like in the video above.

I know, alcohol might not be the only factor in the bad driving. They could also just be, you know, bad drivers. Every country has them, even the US and Denmark. I have seen plenty of dash cam footage from both Denmark and USA to know, that bad drivers exist everywhere. The reason, why we see so many from Russia, is because that Russian drivers were the first to install dash cams, because of the many false injury claims that people put forward.

Of course, this post isn't just going to praise Russia. It's also going to be a bit critical. So let's begin with that, shall we?

Russia has had some bad examples when it comes to treatment of people. They are notorious for running gulags, which was the government agency in charge of the Soviet forced-labour camp-system that was set up under Vladimir Lenin and reached its peak during Joseph Stalin's rule from the 1930s to the early 1950s. Gulag is actually an acronym: Glavnoye Upravleniye Lagerei, which translates to Chief Administration of Corrective Labor Camps. The gulags were brutal! If you want to read about them, click this link here, but I warn you: It's strong stuff, man!

I have never been to Russia, but some of my family has. They thought it was interesting, but they would never want to go back.

So there we have it - some info about Russia! Have you ever been to Russia?

Just being Safe.

We all think we are safe in our homes, a place to relax and feel one hundred percent secure, but this is not always the case. We can achieve this, but it does take effort, and certain rules must be applied.
I think that everyone, once in his life, especially in high risk countries, has said, I wish I knew that, or I wish I had done that. Knowledge is never dear and can eliminate a lot of mistakes that we are prone to make. These mistakes are costly not only financially, but they can cause great physical suffering that we cannot put a price on, even death.

Every time I hear about a friend or family member becomes a victim of these murderous parasites I feel as if I could have done more to help.
In any combat zone its much easier to know your enemy and draw the line. In civilian life its much more difficult with friends or a family member sometimes being the perpetrator.

Here are just a few 'tips' that I can mention that could possibly be of use to friend or foe in the long haul.

If living on the ground floor or in a basement property then keep in mind that they are the most vulnerable.

Detached houses, especially when set well back from the road and screened by walls, fences, trees and bushes, are easy targets. They may suggest a wealthier lifestyle and more valuables. It is also less likely that the burglar will be observed by neighbours or passers-by. Properties backing on to vacant plots, alleyways, public parks and other routes allowing easy access (and getaway) have a greater risk of burglary. An adjacent building site or scaffolding makes a house particularly vulnerable.
You don't have to be wealthy to be burgled! Most homes have a television, stereo, video equipment or other electrical items, all relatively easy to dispose of. Small items such as cash, cameras, watches, medals and jewellery may be slipped into pockets, an important consideration if you have to leave a house by climbing out of an upstairs window!
You can improve the security of the site where you live and also make the house itself more difficult to break into. Security is also an important consideration when looking for a new home, knowing some of the high-risk factors could be one of the influences in your choice.
A home is full of dangers, having all the ingredients for disaster under one roof. Everyone is vulnerable, especially the young and the elderly. The young are inquisitive and adventurous with little sense of fear or danger. The elderly are impaired by slower reactions, forgetfulness, faulty hearing and sight.
We must protect and safeguard our homes so our family and possessions are safe. We can turn our home into a fortress by locking all doors and barring windows, but this can be counterproductive if we have a fire. So a balance must be reached where we are secure but can still evacuate the building in an emergency.

Is it appropriate, if yes then at what stage is it justified to …

Becoming suspiciously judgmental about a Woman’s/ Man’s where about, if for a day or two they have been unable to login to the dating site where they have been chatting ?
& should the one questioned, have to give a detailed answer?? If so, again at what stage?

1. Acquaintance stage
2. After having expressed the desire to be friends but before they have exchanged Ph Nos etc.
3. After having exchanged Ph Nos, Names etc
4. After having expressed attraction.
5. After having met.
6. After having expressed love.
7. After deciding to stay together.
8. Any other

Although relationships develop organically but as we live in a highly cerebral world it will be interesting for theoretical & ethical understanding.
This has intentionally been posted in the 'Educational Category' though it qualifies for Dating & Relationship too :))))

Record heat

It’s not just a record-hot day or two, unprecedented heat waves or abnormally warm ocean waters: All indications are that this will be the hottest single month on Earth on record, and possibly in more than 100,000 years.
Every day this month has set records for average global annual temperatures, and already, 17 days in July have been hotter than any others in more than 40 years of global observations, climate scientists said.
Not even three weeks into the month, scientists’ declarations of an already assured monthly global record serve to punctuate what has been an onslaught of recent weather extremes. Record heat has been observed from Arizona to Rome to China. An unprecedented wildfire season continues in Canada. Flooding — juiced by the fact that warmer air holds more moisture — has devastated Vermont, northern India and South Korea.
“We’re just really starting to see climate change kick in,” said Nathan Lenssen, a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Colorado focused on historical temperature data. “Seeing so many types of weather and climate extremes in a six-month period is pretty remarkable.”
While it is too soon for official records, all preliminary data points to this month being a watershed for the globe.
National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data captured on a daily basis and presented in widely shared charts from the University of Maine’s Climate Reanalyzer have so far “been largely validated” by other analyses, including one from the Europe’s Copernicus Climate Change Service released earlier this month, said Zeke Hausfather, a climate scientist at Berkeley Earth and the tech company Stripe.
“Given the extreme global temperatures over the first half of July, it is virtually certain that July will set a record both as the warmest July and as the warmest month in absolute terms since global temperature records began in the mid-1800s,” Hausfather wrote in an email to The Washington Post.
July, the peak of the Northern Hemisphere summer, is the planet’s hottest month in any given year because the Northern Hemisphere contains more land than the Southern Hemisphere — and because land heats up faster than oceans do. That means Northern Hemisphere temperatures have an outsize influence on planetary averages.
At this point in the month, it would take “truly dramatic cooling” in the waning days of the month to offset the warmth observed over the past few weeks, said Michael Mann, the University of Pennsylvania climate scientist known for the “hockey stick” temperature plot that shows modern-warming is unprecedented in at least 2,000 years.
Such cooling is not expected to occur given the presence of an El Niño climate pattern that developed last month. El Niño is known to boost the planet’s temperature, as warmth stored within the Pacific Ocean pools at its surface along the equator, driving changes in weather patterns around the world and releasing more heat and humidity into the atmosphere. The birth of the Lord Jesus

God sees things as a whole and there are 3 reasons why Jesus was born in manger and not in people's homes or in any palace.
AND I will explain to you those 3 reasons why God chose to do this
1 In this way the story of the birth of Jesus was to reach the soul of the people more easily .... people will remember a story sad lighter than a cheerful one.
2 God does not need material things, palaces, or expensive houses, let us not forget that God created the world in which we live
3 By the fact that the Virgin Mary was not received in the house and ended up giving birth in a manger somewhere farther from the village ... God thus gave Jesus the opportunity to survive the fact that Herod was going to kill children up to 2 years old.
I believe God already knew what was going to happen when Herod found out that a greater King would be born.
than he whom men would love and follow more than Herod. And because God knew Herod, he will
you want to kill Jesus, God wanted to give time to Joseph and the Virgin Mary to take the baby and go ahead
for the soldiers to reach them. Because God had other plans for His Son.
As I said, God sees things as a whole and far beyond our imagination. God by one chance
did 3 good things I listed above. I wish you happy holidays and let's not forget that Christmas means more than food and drink, It means the Birth of the Lord and Our Savior.
Thank you for your attention and time.
cheers sad flower
