Burden Bearing

Recently a news report carried the story of two puppies, brothers Jeffrey and Jermaine, who were found wandering the streets of Philadelphia. Though both dogs were frightened and sick, Jeffrey had a greater challenge--he was blind! Determined to care for his brother, Jermaine literally became a guide dog. He constantly stayed within touching distance of his disabled brother, and Jeffrey leaned on Jermaine for support. Without any training, Jermaine became a guide dog. The puppies were always seen touching each other and even slept holding each other. Their story melted the hearts of Philadelphians, and the brothers had no trouble finding a home.

If animals can be that devoted to each other, shouldn't we be the same? Galatians 6 tells us, as we have opportunity, to do good to all, especially those who are of the same household of faith. We can affirm, appreciate, and approve of others by the way we treat them. We can bear their burdens. Love is worthless unless it acts out, unless it's expressed in deed and behavior.

That's not just puppy love; it's agape love!

Swiss Spaghetti Farmers...

...are expecting to reap a bumper crop this year. applause

One of the upsides of Global Warming/Climate Change is the unbelievable effect it's had on spaghetti growth.
This has been especially noticeable in the Alpine spaghetti growing districts of Switzerland, which have experienced unprecedented record spaghetti harvests in recent years. yay

On a more somber note, there is serious concern that new GMO spaghetti varieties may affect the quality and nutritional value of spaghetti. sad

Spaghetti farming is now almost totally mechanized.
This old news clip shows how the harvest was accomplished by simpler more traditional methods.
Today, these time honored traditions are observed by only a very few basically hobby spaghetti farmers. sigh

To whom it may concern

If Doctor Who were on TV, all would be well and good, but if I were watching him, he wouldn’t suddenly become Doctor Whom. The word ‘whom’ is nothing but trouble. Even though the rules governing its use are not complicated, many people continue to use it inappropriately. Even when you know the rules there is still the occasional sentence where it isn’t clear whether a who or a whom belongs in it. Sometimes whom looks wrong even when it’s right, but never, ever, ever looks right when it’s wrong.

I always resist using the word and only give in on the few occasions when its right to be there seems too obvious to deny. I only do it then out of cowardice, not wanting to appear ignorant of correct grammar. Let’s do ourselves a favour and get rid of the clumsy word once and for all; no one would miss it and many would be spared the anxiety of misusing it.

While we’re at it, let’s also outlaw the word ‘genre’, unless French is being spoken, and ‘fora’ as the plural of forum. Sometimes avoiding pretentiousness should take priority over grammar.

English is so weird

Limericks by sound, and by spelling -

There once was an old man from York
who took a fat pig for a walk,
when asked "why this was,
he said "it's because
I'd rather eat veggies than pork.

There was an old woman from Slough*
Who developed a terrible cough
So she drank half a pint
Of warm honey and mint
But sadly she didn’t pull through

(*rhymes with plough)

Waiting for a visitor who is LATE I will disappear (I hope) any minute now. You better hope too or I will be adding more weird English examples

There their they're, comfort it won't be that bad.

World Predictions Until 2050 by Remote Viewer E.M Nicolay

The end of the Catholic Church will occur between 2025 and 2030 due to Islamist terrorists fleeing the Middle East after WW3 and causing the destruction of Rome. (The destruction and end of the church was actually one of the prophesies given to the children at Fatima, which the Church has kept hidden.)
Conflict continues to rage in the Middle East because many of these areas sit on key vortex portals that amplify and/or quickly manifest what a person thinks or feels, whether positive or negative. Consequently, violence is amplified with more violence due to the energy spiraling through these areas.
There will be continued economic problems in the U.S. but a global currency reset, based on a return to the gold standard, will not actually take place until 2017 or 2019 at the latest.
Around 2030 the U.S. will be embroiled in a civil war after the break off of states into regional unions. One of the strongest and more prosperous unions will be the New England Region. Many of these regions will have their own currency and militias, especially after the bankrupting of the federal government by 2030.
Russia will usher in a new Eurasian Enlightenment period in the latter part of the 21st century. It will lead the world in a cultural revolution and ultimately be seen as the “savior” while other parts of the world lie in ruin.
The second coming of the Christ figure (an enlightened avatar being) will emerge from the Northern Turkey area and help bring forth a “New Golden Age on Earth” beginning in Russia.
Russia and China will eventually become the world’s policemen for protection on U.S. soil.
For their own preservation, Mexico will form a close alliance with China and Canada will be allied with Russia.
Goodbye Apple, Microsoft, Facebook and Google. Funny, but it appears all our mobile devices and the internet are just a dress rehearsal getting us ready for total telepathic communication with everyone and everything.

The 9th Planet in our solar system

No, not Pluto. That's not a planet. Yeah, I know. It WAS classified as such, not long ago.
However, Pluto turns out to be little more than a relatively small ice ball and there's thousands of those in our solar system. In reality, there's are only 8 actual planet's......... that we've seen.
Regardless, it seems, that there is actually a 9th planet in our solar system.
But it is way out there. It may have been a lot closer long ago, but was kicked out of
the solar system for smoking. Just kidding.
But, it may have been kicked out to the edge by a slingshot effect
from a gravitational interaction with our largest planet.
Some believe, that interaction actually saved Earth from destruction.
It may have altered the movements of our largest planet to miss a collision course with our Earth.
Regardless, we now postulate the existence of this 9th planet in a similar way that we
postulated the existence of the 7th & 8th planets long ago. By the effect on other orbits.
Some big effects.

Here's a TED talk about it;
