I've said many times that I write about this topic, but I've always avoided doing it to avoid stirring up discussions. However, I think it's time to address it, as someone might need to hear it, and maybe someone will learn a life lesson from the mistakes of others. When I was hospitalized, a charming old man was brought to the bed next to mine (at least that's how he seemed during our time together, along with his wife, who visited him). Anyway, what I want to say is that he once shared a story about moving to Constan?a during the Ceau?escu era and deciding to build a big house with around 9 rooms or something like that. He said he wanted to have children. So, he built that large house with the intention that their children would have a place to live without having to search for or build their own home, even if they were to have families and children of their own. However, his children grew up, left home, and settled abroad where they started their own families. They didn't want to hear about Romania anymore, and that large house was now mostly empty because there was no one to live there. And I wonder... why did this happen? Could it be that the old man did what other parents do, telling his children to do as he pleased, and when they said no, he tried other methods? And when they refused and he ran out of arguments... he resorted to that famous line, "As long as you're under my roof, you'll do as I say," the cliché line parents use when they run out of arguments but are too stubborn and proud to leave things up to your choice... because a parent always has the final say... and then they say, "They're older, they know better than you." And if that's the case... then could that be the reason why the house is empty? And if so, if it's their fault... why do they complain that their children left and don't want to come back? I don't know... maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure many young people think the same way... In this life, I've learned two things: every person should have the right to an opinion and choose what's best for them... not to choose their mother, father, brother, sister, or whoever else... because each of us has different thoughts, experiences, senses, needs, and so on. And secondly, if you force someone to do what you want, they may swallow it once, twice, three times, until they give in, and then consequences arise. And when those consequences appear... it's better to stay quiet and swallow it, and stop complaining or blaming others... because some things you bring upon yourself in life. Own up to them... we are responsible for our own actions (or should be) and for what comes after...

It happens in life that we meet situations where life offers us the opportunity to do something necessary, but if we refuse, then life will take us to another situation that will offer us the opportunity to do the same thing again. If we refuse this time too, life will take away our chance to choose and will put us in the situation where we are forced to do that action or make that decision. Therefore, it is important to know how to be prepared to do what needs to be done at the right time

As a high school teacher working in an inner city school, I lost count of the number of times I encountered students who presented themselves in an insubordinate insulting manner. But as a teacher I never hit a student or felt the urge to shoot them dead. Indeed I put my hands behind my back so as to display a non aggressive pose. My function was twofold - first to demonstrate productive behavior and instill the same in these soon to be adults. I wish I could say the same of our street guardians - the police. All too often insubordination is met by the police not with tolerance, but with lethal force.

Okay your turn. Time for all you "tolerant" right wing thinkers to tell the world how I am wrong. I had my say.

Awareness begins with keeping your eyes open and your senses/mind alert to dangers.
Always be aware of your situation and how it might put you at risk...
Look ahead when in the street and be aware of dark corners and alleys, of people loitering, of groups of people heading in your direction.
Cross the road if necessary to avoid potential risk. Use your ears too, can you hear footsteps or voices? While focusing on one potential attacker, you might not be aware that another is behind you. Try to judge situations realistically.
You must not start assuming that anyone or everyone who approaches you wants to hurt you but you should not assume they don't.
A person slumped against a wall might be ill or drunk, or could be pretending and waiting to pounce at the right time for him/her.
A violent argument between a man and woman, followed by cries of help from the woman, would probably make you want to help but she might be an accomplice. This puts all of us in a serious dilemma. Most people choose not to get involved at all.
There are obvious high-risk groups for violent crime. Statistics show a particularly high incidence of attacks on women, the elderly and children but everyone is at risk, particularly when alone.
This is only a general summary and the point is for you to be aware at all times as it may help one day.

There are so many of these words deriving from certain people and places one would think it takes up half the english language.

mind is concerned with feelings and emotions, which are significant in realizing and understanding the reasons behind man’s behavior and action. This aspect molds or shapes up man to the fullest.
However, intelligence can only be achieved if all the aspects of mind are functioning well.

By being able to develop accurate ideas about what other people are thinking, we are better able to respond accordingly.

Some years ago I revisited one of my old schools. A huge Victorian building with a large area of land at the rear. Football, netball, and huge grassed site.
The building was no longer there and had been replaced by some 2 storey insignificant dwellings.
I was disappointed at the removal of a part of my history. The headmistress was formidable and I received the caine, which had a split end, on at least two occasions. I hated her, but in my last year there, the pupils elected me school captain.
The school had 200 pupils. My new school had 2000 pupils.
