Citizens of the United States have the privilege to vote in elections and there are a few rules that must be followed. You must be 18 or over, a resident (with some homeless exceptions) and not a convicted felon. You can register to vote online, by mail or in person at a local election office. Birth certificate or ID is required for a voter card to be issued. It usually takes a few weeks to receive your voter registration card in the mail.

When you go to vote, you will be asked to show a photo ID and that information will be cross referenced to confirm you are allowed into a voting booth to cast your vote. One registered voter, one vote.

Mail-in votes have some rules as you must request a ballot prior to an election. Only ONE will be sent out that is imprinted with your identification details. Mail-in ballot requests have a time limit and you will be notified that new requests have to be made for future elections.

From what I have read, the data base used to confirm who is on the eligibility list and who is not, is constantly updated. One thing it does do, is to verify if someone is deceased. So if you scoop up your dead uncle's photo ID and voter registration card, you may have an interview with election security at the polls.

It saddens me that blogs aren't as active as they used to be. While some people still post, only a few interact, unlike the forums. Let's revive it and make it as lively as it was before. If you meet someone here, how long before you do a video call? I met my ex-husband here; we just emailed, and social media wasn't a thing in the past. Just wondering.

I did a blog last year about Georgia representative, Marjorie Taylor Greene being swatted several times. The term swatting refers to someone anonymously calling the police to falsely report trouble at a persons house. The police rush out to find there is no emergency.

I'm adding two more to the list of government employees who have recently been victims of swatting. Special counsel Jack Smith, who is overseeing the prosecution of former president Donald Trump in two federal cases and Judge Tanya Chutkan, who is overseeing the federal election interference case against former president Trump.

No arrests have been made in connection with these recent incidents, however last year, in August, Chutkan received a death threat via voice message and police were able to trace that to a 43 year old Texas woman who was arrested.

Last night, I smashed out a solid three-hour workout, combining some serious treadmill action with a bit of yoga. No idea how I'm still kickin' after that, The holiday season went a bit overboard on the eating front, so now I'm on a mission to shed those extra kilos. Gotta do it, though – the job demands me to be in top-notch physical shape, and I'm gunning for a set of ripper abs. Time to sweat it out and get back in the game! I'm starting my reading challenge for the year. I'm excited to dive into some books. Do you have any recommendations or favourite genres? I'm looking forward to exploring new reads and reaching my reading goals this year!

Every year, I tell my family not to get me anything for Christmas. They all develop selective hearing loss and get me something. This year, I received a small and simple gift that I will often use.
It's called GUARD YOURID.
My trash goes in a community dumpster, boxes into recycle bins. If you are like me, You'll probably peel off the labels bearing your name and address. If you cannot remove the label, covering the information with a marking pen is the next option.

This device looks like a date stamper with a roller wheel on the bottom. What it does is roll over a band of black ink quickly creating a security block to the information you want to cover.
