He is fact for those who met Him. Those who have not must really be exasperated at being confronted with our extreme confidence in Him - God who they only experience as a myth/fable/belief.

Most people posting here will simply not accept anything as proof of His existence - least of all people claiming to have met Him - not even a huge number of people who claim to have met Him and to whom He often speaks and whom He guides every moment of their lives. Nor will they accept a book that was written by a large number of people over a period of some 1500 years - by people making exactly the same claims. This book makes perfect sense to those who have met Him because they no longer search for or are bothered by the human errors in this book - they see God's word between the pages without any difficulty. You say that there are no witnesses yet the message of redemption can be reconstructed in its entirety from words documented within one generation of His death - the words of people who were there. Apart from that entire documents dating from several hundred years before His death survived to tell us that God spoke to people then as He does now and that Jesus was His gift to us.

Those who would like Jesus Christ to go away because you say you can see no proof of His existence, can apparently also not see that there is only one God and one book that you would want to go away. If I was not a christian, this would probably have made some alarm bells go off in my mind.

Hellooo Trish wave

I was just thinking.. ever since I said I was an Atheist, one of the women on here and totally stopped talking to me.. EVERY TIME I speak to her she blanks me.

It does annoy me a little.. (tho it makes me laugh more than anything)..
I'm happy to hear anyone's views and opinions.. I don't argue about religion, and I don't force MY views on anyone.

Yet she ignores me..

Which one of us is the Christian? dunno

(and JUST in case any rubbishy detectives out there thought I meant Trish I DIDN'T.. I was saying helllooooo to her hug ) laugh

Hi Eupho wave

I really dont know why these things happen but I suspect that because the concepts are so deeply embedded into the psyche of believers, anybody who's thoughts differ becomes a threat that they are ill equipped to deal with.

It must be difficult for a person to like anothers personality and then discover that their beliefs are opposed - I hope the person to whom you refer can reconcile her mind to her instinctive action to withdraw and that she may find the strength to question her conditioning as the world is all too short of well meaning, non judgmental people such as yourself.

I find it so sad that somebody has stopped speaking to you for this reson but, hey, her loss and hopefully it will only be a temporary one hug

ppl dont need god or gods book to be happy

to believe in god because it is written in some book somewhere is not proof of his existence to me

Why am I so irreverent about religion?

I most certainly do have a distorted idea of religion - almost as distorted as your own

Followers of The Pink Hippo have been persecuted since the day The Messenger first appeared outside the farm church in Osleston - the day he was almost burnt at the stake by local Christians.

Today we are persecuted in a new way. Those of other religions, and those of none, accuse us of being flippant, irreverent and disrespectful of "the concept of religion".

What arrant nonsense!

How can one be disrespectful of a concept? A concept is an idea, or, in the case of a religion, a set of ideas expressed as an ideology which must always be open to question. Part of questioning is the ability take an ideology apart, step by step, and expose it for the total nonsense that it may be - and one of the best ways to do that is through humour and satire.

Start with the facts:

Religions are designed to answer the question: "where did we come from?" Hippoism provides the answer.

Religions are designed to answer the question: "what happens when I die?" Hippoism provides the answer.

All religions (except Hippoism) are based on fairy stories - call them "myth" or "folklore" - but they are fairy stories.

Most children cease to believe in Santa Clause after the age of 3 or 4.

Most adults teach children that fairy stories are just that - stories made up to amuse/frighten people - or maybe to make a moral point.

All religions indoctrinate children by telling them that the fairy stories of religion are "true".

Some religions accentuate the negative and frightening aspects of their fairy stories - to frighten children into belief and obedience.

Gods (other than The Pink Hippo) are the creation of man's imagination.

Holy books (other than those relating to The Pink Hippo) are the creation of men - they were made up by men, edited by men (to ensure that they follow the party line) and taught as "truth" by men.

I here officially declare that from today henceforth i will follow the teachings of The Pink Hippo

You seem to think that religion is a device of some sort used to dispense authority and exercise control and you are right in that assumption;unyet religion only took on that guise when the first pope a former pirate saw the potential for land based plunder. Prior to this monks used to worship via 'The Great Arcana' a force which was known about since the Pharaohs' Tetragamaton' God and via religious persecution this was surpressed. oops - I hereby rescind my aforementioned affiliation to the church of the pink hippo - I have discovered it is just like all the others;

The Book of The Result

And mankind lived in fear of punishment by The Pink Hippo.

And belief in the love of The Pink Hippo brought meaning to the lives of the emotionally challenged.

And the intellectually challenged worshipped The Pink Hippo because they had closed minds and were incapable of rational and logical thought.

And The Pink Hippo played with mankind by visiting random death and disaster on it.

And The Pink Hippo created groups within those who believed in Him.

And The Pink Hippo encouraged those groups to interpret His words in different ways.

And The Pink Hippo encouraged those groups to turn one against the other.

And The Pink Hippo encouraged those groups to develop weapons of mass destruction so that they might destroy other groups who believed in Him.

And The Pink Hippo encouraged the strong to become stronger and allowed the weak to become weaker.

And The Pink Hippo encouraged the strong to steal the Earth's resources that were originally given to the weak.

And the strong were encouraged and they built more and more weapons and subjugated more and more peoples.

And the strong became arrogant and they would tolerate no opposition and there was a great slaying of those they disagreed with.

And the peoples of the Earth wept at the death and destruction brought about by those who believed in The Pink Hippo.

This is about Grace vs Law = old testiment vs new testiment

no fear and respect are definitely not the same thing and that is where I was confused .Yes if you think God will destroy you there is a reason to fear. I would not want that God either . I have read the old testiment and the new and I am coming to know this God . I'm telling you God is not a vending machine ( I'll get an A6 good relationship and a D7 good job and a .....) thats not how it works , and because you believe, that doesnt mean everything is going to be just peachy from now on - it works by a love that says I am precious to my creator. God will bring me through it, I will not be stuck in it ,and I care about what is going on in my heart I am not drawn to the things that hurt me and others . I will tell you there is bread and milk and meat for the soul of man in the word of God- food for the soul-
but we get too busy or too smart or too whatever and let the core of us shrivel up starve and die
and we forget about trust and love and faith , it becomes survival of the fittest. and we no longer know what respect is .Have you ever stood infront of someone that you revered so much that you trembled in their presense that is respect.

you cannot sway unbelievers with old stories, they will just say same

"how do you know its true?show proof"...

as for lacking imagination if you dont believe.. well maybe they could say its the other way around, a case of if you cant understand it dont try to,

just say its gods doing/will whatever, and quote something out of an old book, THAT maybe, is lacking in imagination.

as i said before the bible is no proof.. it is written by man about mans belief it does not prove that the belief is truth.

yet still all i hear ....... justs repeat parts of this book as evidence

Nobody can sway unbelievers - full stop - But God can and I am living proof thereof. Most of the unbeleivers posting here have made up there minds as to where they stand but there are people searching for the truth. It is for these people that I post. I am simply offering them the message of the bible so that when the day comes when they meet Jesus Christ they will know who He is and what He is offering. He will change them as He did me and I will cry and rejoice with them.

Gods are a fantasy of the superego, it gives a person a reason or purpose in life as they try to acheive an unobtainable goal or explaination and become fixated on it because they can't imagine beyond it.

It happens in every genre even in science as those that believe the universe and the matter that started the universe just always existed, that the universe has no beginning and no end and that it's nothing beyond the universe, instead of imagining beyond these concepts these concepts become their God.

Man once believed the moon was a god, but now knows better, the farther man goes into space the farther the unobtainable and unexplainable god goes.

Do people seek to know god or do people unknowingly seek to be God
is God their choice of being controlled or their choice of seeking that unobtainable goal, no matter who you are of what you do your belief in any god is actually a subconscious evaluation of your own self-esteem.

As you go though-out life and have the privilege of being able to choose what you become in life, do you choose to be a garage person, a file clerk a lawyer, a doctor or a God?

To seek to be anything less than a god is to also seek to always be controlled by others and not take responsibility for your own existances.

Knowledge may be finite in each plane of existance, for instance this universe may be the only one that is compose of energy, anything that your mind can imagine either conscious or subconscious can exist in this universe, only the knowledge and laws that govern the universe can only exist in this universe.

But move beyond this universe and these laws and the same knowledge is cancelled out, so you would have to relearn the laws and knowledge of the existance beyond the universe.

In others words in this universe of energy you could have the mental powers of a god but beyond the universe you would have the mental powers and learning ability of an ameoba.

Your brain may not be able to understand or conceive the concepts needed to exist or comprehend beyond the universe, but because your brain was exposed to such new concepts it will began the process of conceiving.

Current string theory shows there are 11 dimensions in the universe but we are trapped in only 4.It is quite impossible for us to even imagine the higher dimensions, as such we cannot even imagine the nature of God.

LOL

There may be those that exist that may seem like Gods to us, but everyone is assuming that a God created everything, it could have been God's brother or sister everyone is basing their belief of a God using human standards.

EVIDENCE OF GODS EXISTANCE? - SURE!

#1, The universe - and all of it's operational dynamics can be described in mathematical terms, The universe is intercooperatively structured, and it's functions are self conservative. Einstien said:
"The fact that the universe is concievable - is inconcievable".

#2, The undirected evolution of all species of life, let alone human beings - would represent a series of "lucky accidents" in such preposterous qauntities and at such rapid frequencies - that
it completely shatters the uncertainty principle of statistical outcomes,
and presents all life on earth with it's existant diversity as being an improbable and irrational entity.

#3, Researchers will tell you that the ultimate end result of everything we know thus far about universal cosmology, qauntum mechanics, and relativistic physics - is that "everything came from nothing".

#4, Because niether matter nor energy can be destroyed - but only changes form - then the concept of death as a final end is sufficiently nullified under abstract premises.

#5, Sufficient evidence does not exist to DENY the eistance of a "God" - therefore - atheism requires as much faith in a non-imperically provable stipulation as theism does - and hence - is merely a religeon as well with it's own dogma set.
