God...fact or fiction? ( Archived) (926)

No I dont believe everything that is written did you see my last post I would need some sort of proof to believe that

This argument would put us back into the dark ages.

Lady I have to break it to you that most of what you accept as fact reached you in the form of words. You accept it as fact because it stood the test of exhaustive peer review. That is what we call the scientific process and without this process we would accept a lot of nonsense as truth (not even speaking about what the internet is doing to you database of "facts"). The biblical message has withstood more of this peer review than any other document ever written. Yet you still make it off as false with but a few sources of information which you will find only exist on the internet and visual media where no peer review is required to substantiate its claims. No wisdom to be found in that.

Those who cry fiction! need to at least join this debate with some facts. You claim that because it is an old document which has been passed on for generations it has now become corrupted to the point where not even its basic message is of value. You claim that the church corrupted its content with additions that allowed them to control the masses through the spreading of guilt. Before we make unsubstantiated and wild sweeping statements that serves only to hurt and anger, let us debate these claims with real facts that has some merit.

I will start off with a statement that will make the fiction guys grin in truimph:

YES THE EARLY CATHOLIC CHURCH DID ADD PARTS TO THE BIBLE AND IT WAS PROBABLY AIMED AT SCARING PEOPLE INTO BELIEVING.

Now it is your turn. These additions are well known because of the exhaustive peer review that I spoke of. Tell us what they are and how it affects the message of God's gift to us.

Yeh, I believe in Jesus, God, the Holy Spirit. I believe that we have assigned angels to help us in certain times of crisis's.

I have suffered extreme anaphylaxis on two separate occasions, about 2years and 2months apart. First time was pulminary edema, the second time was traechea edema. Both time I was declared clinically dead, but the last time, I was totally gone. No vitals, no color, no brain activity--absolutely nothing. The good doctors never gave up, and alas, here I am to tell the story. My doctor is amazed as well. I took nothing permanently along with me. I healed and that was that. You could argue that it was medical science that saved me. They basically brought me back from the dead. You don't see that happen everyday.
I have seen so very much proving that there is a higher form that loves us and cares for us, I cannot turn my back on that. Whether you call him Buddha, Allah, God, or your choice, there is a being, sitting back and watching us, sometimes smiling, sometimes frowning, but always there for us. Not necessarily making thing happen, or allowing them to happen, because I believe that God gave us free will.

I also believe in preminitions, which is something trying to put you on the right path to safety. It is your choice whether you listen or second guess. Many different versions of this in my life, some where I've listened, and was glad I did, and some I ignored, and ended up that I should have listened...

I don't bother debating about religion. What you believe is alright by me.

God has a sense of humour.I bet hes laughing at this thread,because for someone who doesnt exist ,hes sure getting a lot of publicity.

hmm.. i tell myself.. cos you cant prove something exists ... doesnt mean it doesnt.

As there are new discoveries happening all the time.. it sure makes you wonder if its like the tip of the iceberg .

Sure there is a force driving the universe ... our hopes and our courage ... but cant satisfy the scientific eye for lack of substantial logical proof.
