on a molecular energy level, I see 'ego' as a gross irritant.

Once we start thinking that we are right and everybody else is wrong the chain gets broken - I agree with you that we are all eternal beings - some of the ancient peoples taught about tapping into primeval memories - modern religions and their fear tactics have all but wiped out these skills - but all is not lost wave

Thanks Omega, my sadness is because of the destruction wrought in the world by 'ego' and why people continue to hold these same values, century after century - and their only pay off, this close to the destruction of all we know on earth (nuclear etc threats) is to hold the faith confused

A close friend of mine says "if you always do what you always did, then you'll always get what you always got" makes sense to me conversing

Thats an interesting snippet Alida, did you know that there is a story which questions who the Christian God was speaking to when he said the words 'let there be light' - the answer is reputedly that he was speaking to the Elohim wave

I love Google, it has transformed my life - I no longer sit navel gazing as Google lets me find the answers - a suitable candidate for a prize of world renown if you ask me laugh

I only discovered the Elohim earlier this year too - there is so very much to learn all the time laugh

Yes, I have read the bible, also the Koran. I read many books about Jewish Buddhist releigion. Because I think, you must know the things before one rejects them.
And in no text, i couldn´t find something, what would have moved me in addition to a God to believe. Above all, if one knows the precise history of the origin of the Bible and knows that it was changed in deit beginning of the church. Passages were removed, new ones were added, a lot were translated wrong. The Koran a text which is unchanged till this day.

Which is my point. The bible is written word. There is no proof of God being real...it's all hear say. You may not exist. That's where I was headed when I started this thread. Without concrete evidence, is there existance? No. There ma be "faith" or "belief", but no proof.

it is simple as pie. just read the Bible. the very first verse in the Bible says that "In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth." and to say that there is no God is to say that grass isnt green and the sky isnt blue and no God is not a figment of one's imagination. and neither is the Devil.

Irrelevant, they have been seen. They are seen regularly, by many many people. They are also seen during the day by hundreds of people regularly, through a telescope.

And in regards to the people who state that the book being a collection of other accounts confirming the existence of Jesus and his miracles. I'll bet you can track most mythology and find similar stories of accounts. It doesn't mean you believe in Zoroastrianism or the Olympians, does it?

The bible, whether anyone wants to acknowledge it or not, is written by human beings. I'm fairly certain even the bible defines them as fallible. Even if you believed these apostles were in the presence of the divine, you can't reasonably believe everything they said to be accurate or even true. Logically, the book itself argues against doing that.

I believe there are good and bad ideas. But anyone who thinks they KNOW what the answer is, and that applies to atheists as much as the faithful, are deluding themselves.
