Antjo39: Ok, I am waiting for the share of light from you (ANd please, I am not challenging nor sarcastic).
Teach us please or give us a hint at least.
I am no healer, nor do I pretend to be a teacher......
I am only a human being that believes that life is sacred....
I have no God to illuminate me....
I only live my beliefs...and act within the sphere that i live in to promote those beliefs....
In the inconsequential little that this country of ours offers, we are doing our best to bring forth the plight of those who are risking their life to cross the water and escape whatever horrors their is today in the land of Africa....
we have no real army, no air force, no weaponry to speak of. But we do have free hospitals, free education, and all the support systems in place to make sure we have no-one in this country who goes hungry or sleeps without a roof on their heads.
Not even the thousands of illegal immigrants that are landing on our shores.
That is the only example I can give of what my beliefs of a better future for humanty.
outofspace: If we, the people, put down our weapons and said NO, there could be no more fighting. We have so much power, and we give it all away. Without us, those in power have no power.
My hope is that one day, very soon, the world will wake up and realise this.
littlewolf: I dont care if everyone sees this or not,It is about religion. Not all muslims act on the violent acts the Koran speaks of.But there are several sects, like Hamas,Hezbolla,Sunni, ect, who do act on them. The man interviewed said that he finally saw that the terrioists took whatever passage out of the Koran that suited their cause at the time and ignored the rest.So religion is exactly what is firing the terrioists.
It has nothing to do with religion... after the war the displaced Jews were given a homeland, the country known now as Israel, in the giving of this homeland 700,000 Palestinians lost their homes, businesses... since that time Israel has attempted to extend their borders creating more animosity, they have also interfered in Palestine setting down conditions in which the Palestinian people have to adhere to, interfering with their elections etc.
When Palestinians fight back the Israeli retribution is 10 times, they have used excessive force for years and have ignored world wide criticism.
I do not condone terrorism in any way, but I do understand where it comes from... when people feel they have no hope they take extreme actions, this hopelessness can often be turned to extremists benefit often with religious tones. Israel has massive funding and weapons, Palestine does not.

Yes, we can.

HUMANITY.
Yes it can be done....we are doing it here....and we have nothing, no natural resources, no forests, no oil, no rivers, no nothing....just a piece of overpopulated rock in the middle of nowhere.......
but we believe in the sacrility of life, and place that as the centre of all our beliefs.

RED JACKET VS. CHRISTIANITY: THE NATIVE AMERICAN AS RATIONALIST
Editorial note by T.C. McLuhan: Sa-go-ye-wat-ha, or Red Jacket, Seneca chief, and great orator of the Six Nations, was born near the present site of Geneva, New York, in 1750. In 1805, a young missionary named Cram was sent into the country of the Iroquois by the Evangelical Missonary Society of Massachusetts to "spread the Word." A council was held at Buffalo, New York, and Red Jacket made the following reply telling Cram why he did not wish to have the missionary stay with them. N.B. Wood, in Lives of Famous Indian Chiefs, recounts that after making his statement Red Jacket moved to shake hands with the missionary; Cram refused saying, "There was no fellowship between the religion of God and the Devil." According to Wood, the Indians smiled and retired peacefully.
Brothers, our seats were once large, and yours were small. You have now become a great people, and we have scarcely a place left to spread our blankets. You have got our country, but are not satisfied; you want to force your religion upon us.
Brother, continue to listen. You say that you are sent to instruct us how to worship the Great Spirit agreeable to his mind; and if we do not take hold of the religion which you white people teach, we shall be unhappy hereafter. You say that you are right, and we are lost. How do we know this to be true? We understand that your religion is written in a book. If it was intended for us as well as you, why has not the Great Spirit given to us — and not only to us, but to our forefathers — the knowledge of that book, with the means of understanding it rightly? We only know what you tell us about it. How shall we know when to believe, being so often deceived by the white people?
Brother, you say there is but one way to worship and serve the Great Spirit. If there is but one religion, why do you white people differ so much about it? Why not all agree, as you can all read the book?
Brother, we do not understand these things. We are told that your religion was given to your forefathers, and has been handed down from father to son. We also, have a religion which was given to our forefathers, and has been handed down to us, their children. We worship in that way. It teaches us to be thankful for all favors we receive; to love each other, and be united. We never quarrel about religion, because it is a matter which concerns each man and the Great Spirit.
Brother, we do not wish to destroy your religion or take it from you; we only want to enjoy our own.
Brother, we have been told that you have been preaching to the white people in this place. These people are our neighbors: We are acquainted with them. We will wait a little while and see what effect your preaching has upon them. If we find it does them good, makes them honest and less disposed to cheat Indians, we will consider again of what you have said.
Here's a good example of what the Native people thought about the attempt to Christianize...and I still can't understand why people can't just let others live and be who they are...Geezuz if nobody learns from this they should....
I have not read all this post but I dont need to, I know no Jews but if any ever move into my neighbour hood they will not last long. I have no problem tormenting innocent Jews in support of innocent Palestinians. Also I know no Palestinians but I dont need to know any to know who is right and who is wrong. Will America ever stop supporting and financing terrorism? Simply answer = no. Israel is an American state and America loves to finance terrorists. To hell with Israel and the Jews. Who killed Jesus? The Jews.

You know Hugs, somthimes I think that in the life before this one I must have been a native american of sorts.....sooooooooooo much of the elder tirbes seems to have taken root in me down here in the med it's not true...
jbibiza: How did this become yet another religious thread?
It didn't but it should be looked at as a representation of oppression...and an example of live and let live...it's the heavy hand of trying to make others the same that is behind oppression and war....somebody having to have reign over another and what I posted is just a good example of it....
Well I can easily answer that one: The name "samhava" in my case has no connection with the "great Tibetan guru". It simply translates from the Sanskrit as "equanimity" and "balance", meaning "not going to the extremes" (like religious fanatics do!).
