Lies

Tell me again
Why is it you like to see me cry?
Does it make you feel like a tough guy?
Is hurting me the only way
You can feel loved ?
Cause God only knows
How many tears
I've cried over you!
You looked straight into my eyes
And told me nothing but lies !
I let you take a piece of me !
I begged you to stop
It with her!
All you did was tell more lies !
While all I did was cry!
You really hurt my pride !
And you won't tell me why
You continued to talk to her
Were the two of you making plans?
What was to become of me?
You said you loved me !
We're you just gonna dump me ?
Never call me?
Aaa she dumped you first !
I tried to forgive
Life was to hard to live !
AS MY GIFT TO YOU
I GIVE YOU TO HER!!!!!

What I found through crowds of eyes

And for that one cherished moment
I turn around for us to meet
With intense stormy eyes
All emotion blocked fro both sides.
I see silent words deep inside
That can not be sent if you try

And somewhere my heart sparks alive
My hope steps forward out to dive
As my mind floods my heart still aches
I glance as something in you wakes
And as well as lost care I see
Can he love who is really me

But yet we fell in different worlds
And I wont let myself feel hurled
For my mind might have played this lie
And for this love my heart will cry

Love Affair

Embedded image from another site

Clothes draped upon a chair
Rumpled bed with no one there
The scent of faint perfume still fills the air
Lingering hopes and dreams spoken with care
Promises espoused and meant to share
In remnants of a forgotten love affair

Candles on the table glow
Glasses filled with fine Bordeaux
Happiness once lived here I know
Pictures on the wall that show
Sweet memories of long ago
Under lights turned down low

As the hurt and loneliness flare
Searching for lasting love becomes rare
Hearts cry out and suffer so beware
Spoken like a beseeching prayer
Silently and beyond compare
Laying emotions bare

“Better to have loved and lost”
Silvery gray and glossed
Distantly star crossed
No matter the cost
Hearts tossed
Embossed
In frost

Thing about games

I did what, and with whom?
Had my cake..eat it too.
Not my doing, swear I tried.
Ok forget it, no more lies.

Yeah we hooked up, it was a chance meet.
Singin' dancin', light on her feet.
Why call now, saying the things you now miss?
Eyes within say it all, when speaking in a kiss.

<< bridge >>

Had your chance, it was yours
Thing about games, there's scores.
Not my doing, you know I tried.
Try counting, the times I cried.

Yeah I hooked up, with you know whom.
She'd been waiting, knowing you.
So don't call now, saying the things you miss.
Eyes within say it all, when speaking in a kiss.
Please don't call now, saying the things you miss.
Eyes within say it all, when speaking in a kiss.

To love lost...

Embedded image from another site

As I run by the sea
the autumn wind blows silently
drunk with your specter
reeling against me
I stopped to talk to a gull
as it floated between a pier and horizon
breathing the salinity
the sound of the splashing waves
reminded me of your sighs
all these things steeped in memory of you
I shivered as they tried to remind me...

Searching for the Flame

SEARCHING FOR THE FLAME

Why do we try to burn a fire with moistened wood?
Looking for the dry spots to ignite?
At times, saturating it, with gasoline..
Oh yes, the dry spots light...
burning brightly for a short time..
Keeping you warm-- Very Warm,
full of hope...
So full of hope- forgetting about the
moistness hidden with in the wood..
Shortly your warm fire is extinguished
More gasoline........
You have hope that your wood-- will soon be
burning brightly....
Only to find yourself let down, though
you know moistened wood does not burn...
How do you know when to stop trying?
Persistence? Or when you run out of fuel?
We try for years and years to rekindle a flame-
Aching to see a spark- fooling ourselves at times..
When we close our eyes and imagine the bonfire
there once was...
When is it time to stop lighting moistened wood?

Sad Poem

Embedded image from another site

I remember her hair
long black and beautiful
dark yet with golden light
in the length of it.

So lovely, liquid and glorious
the luxurious smell of her hair
scented with springtime
jasmine and magnolia.

It has been weeks now
renewed visions of pleasure
what I write is true
I knew the sweet splendor of love.

Calm as a second summer
tonight I see a star
why is it now that i see
just now.

I write for her this poem that begins
with I love you and ends with I love you
somewhere in the middle is a good by
for all the times I hurt her....

BEHOLD! I SPEAK OF LOVE

BEHOLD! I speak of love as one
Who babbles not for sake of sound,
But as a lad who walked her plank
And struggled hard, then slowly sank
As though my limbs were bound.

Behold! I speak of love to warn
Young hearts that blossom in the Spring.
In this the season it is grand,
But can that frail bud withstand
The snow that Winter's bring?

Behold! I speak of love to say
'T'is not a thing that comes by chance.
It must be bought and payments made,
And though the price is never paid,
Take not a backward glance.

Behold! I speak of love again,
That I might mention of the cost.
Though it is great and hard to bear,
If you give up in sad despair
Your equity is lost

Behold! I speak of love to all.
I babble not for sake of speech,
But as a lad who only grinned,
And threw all caution to the wind.
'T'is you I now beseech.
Behold! I speak of love.

About this poem:
I was 25 years old when I wrote this poem. I lost my beautiful wife and daughter. She was 16 and lied and said she was 19. I was 20. She betrayed me for a wealthy Navy officer. They planned my death. I survived, and learned much about "LOVE" and life.

Unrequited

When I walked down your street again that day
I didn't think your face would be the first one I'd see
I was nearly confused by your smile
By your happy rush to greet me
But you didn't know that I had left to forget you
You didn't know my heart
That I had thought so apparent, so transparent.
(You hadn't ever thought of me in that way.)
So I smiled back at you,
Returned your friendly greeting
Shook your outstretched hand
Chatted about things that did not matter
While searching in your eyes again
For something I would never see
And the pain, which had dissolved over time,
Came back anew
And I knew again
That your friendship was too hard to keep
(And too precious to lose forever.)
There is no answer
When the question is unrequited

LOVE OF LIFE

Life itself is bigger than any love affair
The magic of being in love may disappear
One partner may become tired of what both share
Leaving the other in a sad state of despair

If you are one with love that is still enduring
Please be thankful each day for what you are sharing
If the love you once shared has come to an ending
Though it may not be easy please stop your crying

The price you are now paying with your suffering
Is not worth someone who is no longer caring
So just wipe away all those tears and start smiling
Lift your head up and see the sun is still shining

Listen to the birds and you will hear them singing
Look at a sunset and enjoy what you're seeing
Feel the glorious warmth of the sunshine on your skin
Enjoy fully the wondrous beauty of living

Even though life may not be peaceful as a dove
Here is something you should always mindful of
Love of life is more precious than all other love
Grasp this sacred treasure with blessings from above
