Blessed

Lord, you have blessed me
You have blessed me
I can see the ocean waves
Crashing to the shore
I can see the horizon
Endless evermore
I can feel the wind Lord
Blowing through my hair
I can see the sunset
And I know you're there
I can see the blue sky
Up above me high
I can see the clouds, Lord
Gray, and thin and wide
I can the mile trees
Stretching across the beach
I can see your hand, Lord
Always within my reach
Day by day I go, Lord
Only by your grace
Until I meet with you Lord
And see my Savior' s face

Rainbow

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----
A beautiful skyline on top of the trees,
Whispering winds begin shaking the leaves.
Swallowing sunlight as the clouds move in streams,
Expressions of grays, some blues, and some pink.
Flowers wildly dancing their petals uncurl,
Awaiting the Heavens to replenish the earth.
A bird soaring high gliding on thermal air,
Swoops into hiding from a thunderous scare.
The echoing faints than is followed by lights,
Narrow and jagged dividing the sky.
The first drops of rain fall to the ground,
Forming a mist and a rythym of sounds.
Faster and faster until the landscape is wet,
It stayed for awhile and has already left.
This cleansing brings hope as a lizard drinks from a rose,
And a promise by God sealed with a Rainbow.

daffodil

In the ground
They sit and wait
Under the weight of the frozened ground
Snow lays dormant laying all around

Frost chills the air
White snowflakes every where

They wait for summers spring
The suns glare
To rise and be reborn again
With there yellow flowers and green stems

The daffodil wait to be reborn again

MAMA OCEAN

March 25, 2013

Me, my blanket, and a picnic dinner,
nestled on the sands of Laguna Beach.
The nurturing sun at its highest point,
descends through the clouds to the ocean’s reach.

Clouds, like lovers, blush at the waning sun,
as if the two had kissed and now caress.
Evensong ritual, since time began...
I stare in wonder, almost envious.

I come to gather some rest and answers;
perhaps fill in voids since my last time here.
Mama ocean, she speaks to me in waves,
sharing her wisdom with such loving care.

Wave after wave, she cleanses my troubles,
pulling from me all my dark discontent.
Course sand abrades the most stubborn beliefs;
so carried away with each wave’s descent.

Seagulls hang on the wind, hovering near,
with their soul-piercing, resonating cry.
Sandpipers dare the swift waves like children,
to snap at and chase them, then off they fly.

The sky now painted with copper and crimson,
as the day’s finale takes one last bow.
All that was worry, melts from my being,
leaving me refreshed in the here and now.

All that matters...is here...and now.

About this poem:
I read Paloma's poem Contemplation and this poem sprang into my mind. I couldn't get to paper fast enough. Odd how when that happens. Thanks for the unknowing nudge Paloma.

snow

Cold ice snow drifts
Cars coverd in snow
People trapped know where to go

Trapped in drifts of snow cars abandand
Services down gales of snow drifts
Its spring time

One would never know
Lambing season sheep being born
Some dying with the snow!
Where is spring

Where's he hidding
Why have we got snow?

watching

Days have come,Days have gone.
You lit aa fire and invented the wheel
You chopped down our trees, you dug our earth.
You turned on your creation and made the world
cold as stone. You put messages on birds now you
send messages by phone.
You thought you were invincible when you made that bomb.
We divide seas we divide air,we feed on fear.
You are not alone, hope you can here.
Seen so much and had enough time for a new world now wake up.
Please imagine turn your Tvs,computers, mobiles off
just for an hour you may hear, there is still a better world out there

My Vision (smmerwind's challenge)

My Vision

A world full of beauty
where sparkling streams
flow into crystal clear waters

the air so clear
you can see for miles
bright blue its hue

radiant flowers everywhere
sweet, sweet scent
flowing in the breeze

birds singing in delight
deer frolic in verdant valleys
everything so full of life

at last we have learnt
cleaned up our act
brought love and peace

to our beautiful world
now it shimmers and gleams
full of vibrant light

Seasons

each time a new season arrives
I see again with eyes afresh
which one do I love best?
spring? summer? autumn? winter?

there's only one answer
I love them all anew
so fresh is each at start
then slowly they fade away

the wonders of spring
the promise of new life
each time my heart gladdens
opens wide to embrace

but then summer follows
such beauty everywhere
masses of colourful flowers
matched by beauteous butterflies

fast on heels comes autumn
the Reds, Browns and Golds
harvests of all good things
the beauty of the bare trees

last but not least
winter's icy fingers
hoar frost's on the trees
pure unblemished snow

How can one choose
so lets toast each one
for the beauty they bring
no contest no choice to make

Break of Dawn

I stir sleepily stretching awake
an hour or so before dawn
tossing back the covers
I get to my feet

ablutions done
I call the dogs
we all pile into my car
drive off in the predawn

heading for a great valley
tucked sleepily in the woods
stream trickling through
where we see deer drinking

the sky is lightening
shadows recede as moonlight
slowly fades and the sun
starts showing a sleepy face

then bright rays shoot out
each one more dazzling
as the sun climbs up
coating all in sunshine

a wondrous glorious sight
as it bathes the valley
in warm tender hues
and its heat floods out

I enjoy the first light
as my dogs scurry around
setting up pheasants
with loud squawks

in the distance
two hares box each other
then they are off in
large circles then boxing

fighting, sparring
for the right to mate
the red stag roars
soon they will disappear

as people come here
children will run about
shouting, dipping their
feet in the stream

smoke lazily curling from
the bar-be-que's charcoal
they have missed the
secrets of the dawn

Life

I was woking one day,
and with fresh eyes I could see
a world of wonder
of many things that were new to any eyes opening.

I didn't know what was,
but knew it was a fresh start of something new,
I saw faces with funny looks
and I wondered why their eyes faced me.

I started to see, and make sense,
as I thought but didn't know
it would end up as it has, a reason unknown
but for a reason that was meant to be.

I see now it was a story of a person that was mixed up,
and saw what it all meant... Life.
