SUMMER FLAME

Vivid vermilion, bursting with warmth and life
Lining length of streets where we live
A beautiful sight I can't help but seek
Each and every time I'm out on the streets

Harbinger of warmer months to come
Slightly dryer soil gives more buds to bloom
Hollering jungle's rhythm, her majesty's here
Announcing the coming of each brand new year

Shapely limbs that reaches far and wide
Offering respite from heat morn'n 'til eventide
Pregnant with heavy buds and dense green foliage
Soon to carpet every inch of ground in the yard

From striking flow'rs,feathery leaves to shapely pods
Flaccid green when young soon age to woody dark brown
On sturdy branches suspended, looking flamboyant
Promising a display of colours most bright and grand

Covered in corymbs, your beautiful limbs
Spotted in yellow and white, such a dream
Swaying merrily with a gentle wind, happiness gleams
In every Royal Poinciana tree I've seen!

About this poem:
I was missing NZ Christmas trees, the pohutokawas in bloom this time of the year...then I remembered Ponciana trees are everywhere here.. like pohutokawa trees they also herald the coming of the new year...I wrote this last night and as I am posting it now I checked if I have the spelling right...to my surprise I found a song about the tree... written long before I was born. It just shows how easily these trees can captivate an admiring soul...

Bon Fire

Flames, darkness, smoldering ashes
A place to hang out
and meet new people
A place that allows you
To be yourself
Where in spite of the darkness
You can see a person better
Their true self
A place where you can enjoy yourself
Forgetting all worries
A place of awesomeness
and a place of sadness
A place of new friendships
and a place of broken hearts
Mostly the bon fire is a place
Where you can feel at home.

Fire

As hot as the sun
Red-orange in color
Dangerous
Hypnotizing
Warming
Some people love it
Some people hate it
Some are comfortable with it
While others stay back
While burning bright
It gives off life
and when it's smoldering
The life around it dies down.

Ravensgold

Ravenwood

The little robin starts the morning song

As the cottontails come out to play

The badger and the fox keep time

While the wren and blackbirds sing along

Everyone comes out to greet the day

Because everyone has got a song to sing

Yes, everyone has got a song to sing

Everyone has got a song to sing

Down in Ravenwood

Not a word is spoken

The natterjack is croaking

Because everyone has got a song to sing

Down in Ravenwood

The conifers are swaying in the breeze

Their green heads seem to brush the sky

Everything is just so free and easy

And as I watch a butterfly float by

I begin to see why

Life is good down in Ravenwood

Its a world of colour

Green, gold and yellow

Burnt sienna too

Crimson lake and blue

Down in Ravenwood

And its funny, but you never feel alone

You always feel at home there

Yes its funny, you never feel alone

You always feel at home

Down in Ravenwood

And as I head back down the trail again

Back to that place they call reality

I feel a smile, cut across my face

Because now, I know ive got a song to sing

Not a word is spoken

The natterjack is croaking

Because everyone has got a song

Yes, everyone has got a song

Everyone has got a song

Down in Ravenwood.

Snows They-Are A-Meltin'->
Drippity, Drippity, Drop ...
Into The Earth They Go
Or Puddling A-Lot

Snows They-Are A-Meltin'->
Drippity, Drippity, Drop ...
Splish-Splash Onto My Canvas
All-The-Way-Down-From-The-Top->

Now My Cuffs Are Wet
And So Are My Socks->

For Just That Reason ...
And Listen To The ' Vox '

The Sounds Of Colours

Thunderous is the sound of Black
darkening the sky and
booming with a loud crack

Soothing is the sound of Green
leaves dancing in the breeze
and making one feel serene

Loud is the sound of Red
blood streaming from someone
screaming off her head

Silent is the sound of Blue
in a clear sunny sky which is
very tranquillizing too

Crunchy is the sound of White
icy snow lying on the ground
creating a beautiful sight

Mellow is the sound of Yellow
leaves sighing in the breeze
while falling to the earth below

Babbling is the sound of Colourless
water flowing in a rippling brook
on a ground filled with bumpiness

Boisterous is the sound of Crimson
rage from an angry mob
who pay no heed to reason

Whispering is the sound of Pink
flushed skin of sensuality
with an aphrodisiac drink

Pompous is the sound of Purple
representing royalty and
other aristocratic people

Single...

Single to hold single to write
single to live ,single to type
single to eat to sleep to bear
to wake up alone with whom to share?
Single to breath single to scare
single to carry,single to bed
And single moment of despair
has single echo in the air..
And how to write how to sing
a single melody of me? if single life
does persists?and single people go to sleep?
And you and me we often dream to live
beyond that single been...

Disappeared

I went to bed for sleep
between strong old trees
that stood there for centuries,
like proud toll people;
and before I closed my eyes
I was laying on my back facing sky
with hands behind my head
that felt like bird wings wishing to fly...

Last thing I remember before falling to sleep is;
my eyes shining in reflections looking above the stars,
listening gentle sounds of breeze going true branches...
Birds were singing; "Good night" whistles
while I forgot myself and all the world,
than waken up in the morning
and I was gone...

Disappeared between trees
and become part of them.

About this poem:
Being part of nature, looking for freedom of soul to feel/hear breading of trees and listen sounds...

Illusions

You sit on the beach, and watch the sun set
You gaze way out beyond the cliff, and watch it rise

Who is trying to deceive you gentiles?

It is only me that spins
I am Earth

Haiku 7 - Nature's Diamonds

on the rose petals
sparkling with the morning sun
bright dewdrop diamonds

beneath the streetlight
glistening on the snowflakes
sparkling white diamonds

on the ripples
shimmering in the sunshine
dancing water diamonds
