ONE ANCESTORY

ONE PICTURE OF MANY PAINTINGS
LIKE SOLAR RAXS FROM ONE SUN
A KALEIDOSCOPE OF MANY COLOURS
SO ARE WE FROM THE WOMB OF MOTHER EARTH WE ALL EMERGED IN VARIED SHADES FROM POTER'S HANDS
SO BEAUTIFULLY SPAWN
WE ALL BUT SHARED THE HOLY KISS OF LIFE'S FIRST BREATHE
YES WE ARE
A HUE OF COLOURS IN ONE RAINBOW
A PEDIGREE OF ANCESTORS
A COLONY OF SPECIES
ONE ANCESTRY AND NO LESS

Eternity

When I taste the last smell of the evening
Firmament is embracing me with glamour
The moon is giving me a mute smile
And says – you are the star
Taste the smells

When I can hear a concert of a wild bush
Trees are hugging me with the sun’s rays
And the golden melody
Is whispering with lively voice
Taste the sounds of music

When I am climbing to the top of a mountain
Floated by clouds over the earth’s landscape
Sweat is flooding my eyes with tears of happiness
And the wind is whistling
Taste the beauty

When my body is sad and my hand is longing
I am leading it to the stream of warmth
Running it on the velvet of tenderness
Approaching its desire
Taste the touch

When I am kindling a passion in my heart
I am grasping an ordinary day with a smile
And want to be loved
I feel happiness because
I am tasting love

When I enjoy every minute
Staying in undisturbed nirvana
Time is knocking at the door
To remind me:
Taste your life

When eternity comes
It will take away my taste
Take back the consciousness
And will order:
Enjoy eternal life

Spring

At the crack of dawn,
Spreading out the sweet light
On the dry branches,
Growing out the fresh leaves.

Still,
Somewhere in the air
The dew.
And the warm touch
The spring.

It comes,
On earth and in time.
Its breath soaked our soul.
From here the love grows.

Then,
In you, the spring
and in me, the spring.

The Moon

That Same
Silvery Light
Shines
Upon You And Me
Far-Up Above
That Same Moon-Light
Shines
Illuminating You
And Me

The Pond In Its Glory

Gentle ripples on the water
Set in motion by a slight breeze
Move quietly on the pond's surface
With gracefulness and effortless ease

A fishing bird flies in suddenly
Skimming the pond's surface with its feet
Then dives headfirst into the water
In its search of a meal to eat

Something just broke the water's surface
Forcing me to full attention
I can see now an eye and the nose
Of a fledgling baby caiman

A bird's neck appears from the water
In its beak, there's a struggling fish
One gulp and the fish disappears
That was indeed a tasty dish

Water lily pads bob up and down
In harmony with the rippling water
Their crimson blooms standing upright
Sprinkled among the lilies cluster

Feeding close to the water's edge
There's a roving group of small fishes
They nibble on the morsels they find
Among roots of water grasses

I treasure sitting here in silence
Observing the pond in its glory
It fills me with such peacefulness
And deep feelings of tranquillity

FLOATING STARS

I love to look out my window on warm summer nights
To marvel at God’s creativity and might
Especially when I look out at the trees
There is a display of stars twinkling in the breeze

Floating here and floating there
They never seem to have a care
And then I hear an age old childish cry
Mommy, look and see – I caught a firefly!

Giggling and laughing with glass jars in their hands
They run hither and skitter over the land
There’s one there and another there
Oh – one just landed in your hair!

It seems so nice to get away from TV
To get back to nature and normal humanity
For what can be more proof of God’s love but to see
These small beacons of light twinkling happily!

{Nature Is Calling}

_______ ["Nature Calling"]_________
[Overflowing skies with multitude of clouds
floating endlessly against the blue
with cool gentle wind, caressing our noses/cheeks /eyes.
Colorful flowers like a rainbow
dot the landscape of happy earth
inviting the visitors for merging, melting.

Wet grass caused by morning dew
brings thrill to your delicate feet
as these take a long walk on green.
Singing leaves, aided by droplets
of rain falling/filtering from above
creating soft music to your ears.
Dancing fountains are a delight
to watch from a distance
With dazzling lights of colored bulbs.

Nodding trees are talking to you
like your long lost friend and
waiting for your re-connect.

Contended smiles with friendly handshakes
are meeting in joyful gardens of laughter clubs
for peace, solitude, happiness or otherworldliness!
Nature is calling………….
Yes man, go, go & go.

My Gran Canaria

An azure sky greets genial morning calm
And children wake to welcome sun-kissed play.
The transport ways begin the gentle traffic hum
As golden sun burns down throughout the day.

Buses, taxis, bikes and boats – you get around with ease!
Gentle sprays click left and right as I walk through the park.
Magenta bougainvillea flick softly in the breeze –
Hibiscus trumpets show the way from daylight until dark.

A glittering crystal jewel of blue and green
Surrounds this little piece of history.
Waves crash softly on this rugged scene
Emerging upright from the sea.

Volcanic rock peeks through white buildings on the hills –
The olive trees and cacti; other flora and some
Fauna – lizards, butterflies and birds - so fills
My heart with joy, my time, at last has come.

In torment, wanting more from life
I’ve waited years for this to rise –
And now, you greet me – freed from strife,
My gorgeous island paradise.

About this poem:
After 10 years when I first visited and fell in love with the island I now have the chance to go there and live. I went there recently for a week's recce to check things out and to make sure my vision wasn't a dream gone wrong, only to find I loved it all the more. I leave the UK on July 1st to realise my dream, finally. This poem was written while I was there.

Leaves That Are Green

A young bud sprouts from its parent plant
and blossoms to a lovely rose before long
With time, its beauty fades and it dries up
and the leaves that are green turn to brown

A young sapling takes root and flourishes
Soon a mighty oak stands firm on the ground
With time, it decays to a dried up old tree
and the leaves that are green turn to brown

A baby bird sitting helplessly in its nest
grows into a majestic eagle strong
With time, its glory fades as it ages
and the leaves that are green turn to brown

A defenceless lion cub hidden in its lair
matures into the mightiest beast around
With time, he becomes a decrepit old male
and the leaves that are green turn to brown

A beautiful angelic darling baby girl
becomes a world beauty and wins the crown
With time, wrinkles and old age take their toll
and the leaves that are green turn to brown

Hello to a new life of hope and promise
Goodbye to a life that's now going down
Time marches on irreversibly
and the leaves that are green turn to brown
