In sweeps the autumn
all ears the ninja fawn sleeps
the night awakens

The ground lies damp
Beneath the overcast sky of empathy
My eyes discover the relaxed view
Nature is quiet and blessed with serenity
Mustang 66 sound of tires grip the road
Destination is just to a little store
Where one can buy
Apples of red, green and gold
The sun's slowly pace is trying
To bring it's glow through the clouds
And gives me a peace I cannot explain
And nature is quiet and blessed with serenity
After the rain

O, fellowman, do you not hear the voice of nature newly born?
Bright-pearled dew, the robin's trill, the stirring of the early morn?
How sweet it is, if you'd be still, to hear God's message from His heart:
That if we would see His gifts that He doth now impart...
How much you'd learn from nature's ways that governments of men
do seem to shun and do not know the wisdom it displays!
The Lord made all we see: the trees and creeping things
He made for our delight; not just His own for joy and awe to bring.

About this poem:
It was a lovely day when I wrote this. I had just read an article about weather modification and was wondering how in the world man could convince himself that he is better than God to decide he can play with the weather. It has destroyed a lot of the earth with man's playing around with things. If only he could leave it alone and let God control the earth.

The grandeur of a majestic mountain
with its snow-capped peak
enveloped in fleecy white clouds
against a clear azure blue sky
The glorious majesty of a stately sequoia
the largest living thing on earth
its massive trunk over thirty feet wide
with its gnarled rugged beauty
The wondrous artistry of the setting sun
edging the darkened clouds with silver linings
and painting the evening sky
in brilliant colours of the rainbow

Native green, speckled with gold
patches as nature, returns cold
Trees no longer, a wall of green
soon to shed, as branches seen
So we welcome, Autumn time
changes occur, wet from fine
Still the leaves, cling to trees
un- disturbed, by stirring breeze
Turning cold, as skies overhead
Fade towards grey, a twilight red
Cloudy seals, the once blue sky
clinging low, no longer high
Flower petals, all but gone
along with summer, as sun we long
Hides behind, mottled clouds
Bird song muffled, no longer loud
As dormant puddles, herald mud
Spring forgotten, along with buds
Lining branches, in wait to explode
blossom clusters, spreading load
Of colour explosion, brought alive
welcome spring, before it dies
Towards a cloudy, time of year
until again, blue skies run clear
Seasons come, spent they go
four to make, a year whole
Weather patterns, rarely blend
acts of nature, hardly friends.
As nature displays, her cruel mix
Hurricanes-flood-earthquakes trick
Humans stumble, without a goal
Live a life, nature shows control

I feel we accept seasons because we have too, and actually enjoy the passage of change......

Golden eddies reveal an outgoing tide
Pockets of pools that can not hide
Afternoon hues through the piers wide
Open windows to a soul that can not be denied........

As pink blush, shoots the sky
Creeping through, low to high
Turning the day, towards night
Coating brightness, dimming light
On distant horizon, change occurs
Aware of twilight, the eyes lured
From life below, to changing sky
Mesmerizing colour, a day dies
Sensing vacuum, spiritual peace
Expecting rapid, light decrease
Before street lights, smolder-glow
Dark corners hide, no secrets show
Life in hiding, now dark comes
Daytime is again, on the run
As pinky blush, to crimson red...
deepens, with evening pledge
Soon the moon and stars will fill
The sky with light, that spills
Over a sleeping hidden earth
Recycled strength, towards rebirth

The mighty wind
is blowing just
To prove it's powers
Waves crashes against
The rocky shores
Roaring in rage
The trees are bare
And it seems like
Despair has taken over
But for a little while
We can se the wonders
overflowing
The fresh air of
The first autumndays
Can make one who missed summer
Feel glad
When nature is sparkling
With vibrant images
When the trees are red
And yellow from every
Little leaf
And then when the leaves
Fall down making the ground
A soft carpet to walk on
The spirit of autumn
Tend to blend
The powers o nature
Calmness
Anger
Rage and beauty
'tis there all at
The same time
The blueness of an
Autmun sky is something to
Hold in sweet memory
The rays of sun shining
Upon the trees
Making them look golden
Is something to marvel o'er
Even when the sky is grey
You can be amazed
By the wonders that you see
'tis a marvel
This my friend
Is the true colors of autumn
