EXRED

WAITING

Voices chattering in my garden
The soil and lawn have hardened

Flower petals had dropped down
Leaves have swirled all around

Veggie patch empty and bare
Caterpillars and grubs, nowhere

Anticipation is in the air
For what? I stand and stare

A peace reigns for this time
Waiting for white frosts to be kind

The wild garden

The wild garden is like the soul of a woman - mysterious and wild

Here grow the most beautiful roses - but be careful, if you break them they hurt you.

Here grow the beautiful Belladonna, whose fruits bring healing as well as death.

Here grows the little Bellis Perennis, which is so small but strong and indestructible.

Here grows the fragrant violet that makes beguiling promises.

Here grows the red poppy, whose seeds euphorize and aphrodisiac, but if you use them without measure, you lead yourself to the realm of the dead.

Here grows the beautiful blue cornflower that enchants everyone with their sight on the way.

Here the yarrow that heals your wounds grows.

Here the lady's mantle grows, from whose leaves you can drink the dew in the morning and whose tea helps you if your throat is sore.

Here grows the dandelion, which like the daisy is indestructible and indispensable for your health.

Here grows the lily of the valley, which has a delicate fragrance and is beautiful to look at, but can also kill you as it enchants you.

Here grows the wild mallow, which has many healing properties and used to be used to determine if a woman has conceived a child.

Here nasturtium, which has such beautiful red and yellow flowers, tastes good and at the same time heals your body.

Here, the nettle grows, which is not easy to pick, but if you have done it, it will serve you well with many ailments.

Here grow the wild strawberries that bear small lovely flowers at first and whose fruits have a taste where you can feel the sweetness of love on the tongue.

Here grows the calendula, which brings sunshine into your life with its orange-yellow flowers and makes your pain easier.

Yes, and trees grow here -

Like the willow that envelops you with its long arms and sings lullabies.

Like the lilac, which intoxicates your senses with the scent of its flowers.

Like the oak, if you lean on its trunk, you can feel the power and the strength and give it to you.

Just like the cherry, the love tree, because their fruits always appear as a couple and taste as sweet as the kiss of the loved ones.

Just like the chestnut, whose flowers shine like candles and whose fruits revive your tired legs.

Like the lime tree, which is a popular place to meet in the evenings and whose scent of flowers will accompany you all night.

You see, the garden is as varied and mysterious as a woman. Here and there there is beguiling, but also disastrous. It always depends on how you use them.

If you are mindful and respectful of them then they will heal, pamper and beguile you, if you are raw, greedy and disrespectful with them, they can be dangerous.

So be careful with the plants in the wild garden and also with the wild soul of a woman.

On the open seas there beneath always there

Demon of the world
Havoc you cause
Life expelled
You float
You lurk
Your the intruder
Man's greed Thier creation
Alway seen discarded
In open seas
Under the waves not to be seen
Your still there lurking man's greed
Never ending always there
You don't hide
Always seen on top
Beneath your always there
Floating on the open seas

Heart of the Sea

The heart of the sea is a mother's heart
She is the great ancestral mother of all life on the planet
Deep within the dark mysterious waters of her womb
She conceived and gave birth to the first life form
which evolved into more complex organisms
that live on the land and in the air

She is an essential part of the planet's ecosystem
feeding the clouds which bring rain and snow
that sustain life on the earth
Through tiny ocean plants and photosynthesis
she removes carbon dioxide from the air
and converts it to more than one half of the oxygen
in the earth's atmosphere

She is the great food provider to the planet
having her own internal food chain
with tiny phytoplankton at the lower end
and enormous sharks and whales at the upper end
She feeds creatures from the land and air
that venture to fish in her waters

She is a thing of beauty even in her enraged fury
with massive waves towering over a hundred feet
and the seething white foam of her waters
This has been her action
even before the advent of man on the planet
Man must respect her behaviour
or suffer death and destruction if he does not

She is a thing of beauty in her calm stillness under the setting sun
which lights up the evening sky in its glorious splendour
and paints a glistening beam of light on the water's surface
in line with the sun and surrounds it
with brilliant colours of the rainbow

Falling Leaves

October winds tell a story
Through the naked limbs
What sounds like an old fiddlers
Bow drawn across violin strings

Leaves we watch them tumbling
Bouncing along the ground
End over end like something
Burnt and crisp by a fading sun

Floating down into the stream
Their fallen comrades depart
Embarking on a passage many miles
To a waiting coastline by the sea

The hard edge and sharp spikes
From the tall maples strikes your face
Bounce off and swirling around
Us as they slowly drop drifting one by one

Their passage now a testimony
Spoken how in time of tender spring
Now lost and largely forgotten
With all its promise and past glory

All this season is swept away
It too will eventually rot and decay
Pressed under by many of its own kind
A whole canopy of fallen debris

Until a giant mass of nature’s litter
Strewn around and tossed about
Now lies haphazardly and eventually
Each will find a final resting place

Until once again all is covered
Asleep there is a quiet blanket
Of winter snows that roll across
Both fields and forests under its giant cloak

A Christmas On The Trail :)

I was up in the hills checking some fence for Dad
While home from school on vacation
It started to snow, and soon covered the trail
But I knew my exact location.

I put up a lean-to for my gelding Bill
Then up a small tent for me
I started a fire and started up a stew
And I boiled some sassafras tea.

It was Christmas Eve and it snowed all night
But by morning the sky was clear
I found myself thinking that this has to be
My favorite time of the year.

I got a feedbag and gave Bill some oats
Then I got my fire going again
I thought of my folks and all of the guests
Who for days had been wandering in.

They'd be on the carpet in front of the fire
And passing their gifts around
And here's 'ol me snowed in, in the woods
My carpet, the frozen ground.

I spotted a pine tree, with cones that hung
Like ornaments Nature had made
The green of that tree was something to see
Like beautiful Chinese jade.

A hidden choir of coyotes sang carols
While a brown bear watched from a hill
I boiled me some more of that sassafras tea
Then sat and drank my fill.

Three mountain jays came to check me out
And flitted from branch to branch
They too, were like ornaments on our tree
In the living room back at the ranch.

There, by now, all the folks would be sorry
I'm missing their Christmas Cheer
But when I get home, I'll have to tell
How I had my Christmas here.

A Lavender Sky

Casting light on shortest day my sunrise
Creeping over the top of distant hills
Marvel glowing bands of lavender skies
Quiets the lonesome night and bitter chills

Slowly, drifting, swirling clouds that appear
Their dark, bulging centers bearing more snow
Soft snowflakes fall tumbling down and adhere
Covering and hiding features below

Tell me where the soft gurgling brook went
Its sounds cannot be heard in the valley
Just the hush of dampening snows’ descent
Such long weeks before winter’s finale

Casting eyes upon the first morning light
Lavender skies….such a beautiful sight

A Tree

The Tree

As stately as I stand, I still fall victim to the axe
I think that I shall never see a hundred years and that's a fact
My leaves fall to earths floor to cover the past; longing for the sweet sounds of nature to guard my present
After all I'm just a tree
I line the forest and add shade to your gardens against earths flowing wind, I still want to be free
My beauty shines in all types of weather, still I'm a lovely tree
With roots running deep and leafy branches reaching for the sky
When birds sit on me I feel a mile high
After all I'm just a tree
All the birds and animals can rest on me
I stand tall and straight looking to the heavens on every sunny day
Winters may be gloomy, but I still stand and look forward to May
After all I'm just a tree

Nature's Love Call

Only his song
His hearts shrill call
Waited patiently for
Another whispered back
His desire .......never
Indifferent in its tone
Wished to sing always
Find love on the wing
Love that is a whole
Pursuit has gone mad
To the amazement of all
All creation applauds

A Quiet Place...

come with me
to a quiet place...
with views serene...
above, an amazing sight
the clouds that clothe
the deep blue skies...
bring depths of hues
so warm and bright
the water comes in
gently with the tide
teasing, lapping
my feet, such delight
with views serene
mesmerize the eyes
it never fails to
touch the heart until
relieved, you'll sigh
aahh, bliss, such bliss!
to a quiet place
come with me
