Haiku leaves

Leaves float down stream
insects jump on board for ride
birds hover for feast

Carnelian Moon

There was a blueish glow to it
The darkest end of autumn night
A soft snow falling at twighlight
Rising slowly from atop the ridge
Came in focus an enormous sight
A piece of red Carnelian hewn
Crested over the other heights
So bloody was its face pocked
With the marks of meteorites
Rising higher into midriff heights
Passing upwards but not too soon
The most bubbly, bubbly red moon

MANS FOLLY

The ground was bare
as was the air
from gusts and thrusts
to stir compacted soil.

The mothers toil came fast
as the destruction cast
darkness and death.
She still had breath
to give life
but not without strife
for floods and fire raged.

Survival has always been
the stronger force.
It unravelled its course
around the globe.

Smiles appeared
across the miles
as flowers bloomed
and the birds cooed.

Heads hung in shame
at the lame excuses
of man's own folly.
Did man not learn at all
from earths nearly fall?

Just Bobble

Patterns on the sidewalks
Where the leaves had fallen
Tracing their outlines deeply
Of many shades of purples
Seen in the glistening rain
Where barely we speak
We just watch as nature
Draws an outline on the horizon
Tracing the clouds colliding
Feeling the brisk wind blowing
Watching for the sun that’s hiding
And has been hiding for days
Careful our next step isn't off
The wet leaves and wood
Greased by a driving rain
So many symbols to observe
Like the great eagle’s emblem
That adorns the high gates
That separates the city spaces
Joining and adjoining its lines
Maps made out of electron screens
Where we simple just bobble
And enjoy all that goes on

About this poem:
Catching little title for my poem about patterns made by fallen leaves on freshly wet concrete. Hey I'm a struggling poet, need I say anymore? :)

I need solid of Earth

I need the solid of earth
earth that is familiar to my soul
I need paths
paths to walk within the quiet of lush green grass
I need beauty
the beauty of nature following its course unfettered
I need season upon season
weather to weather adaptations embraced
I have been lost
lost within brambles
lost within briar bushes growing wild flower’s pretty
I have been picking berries despite bee’s sting
I wanted to make fresh homemade blue berry pies
I wanted sweets straight from the oven, aromas floating air
I need adventures, soul before feet
I need eyes, eyes deep memories repeating, repeating glances
I need dance, feet touching air and earth simultaneously
I want everlasting new birth
No wounding’s fatal, no inconceivable torment to others
I want this now, this my unintelligible truth’s uncensored breath
I want to meander with dreams and fantasies,
My inner child’s mischievous teasing my have to be
I need to breathe I want realized
I need internal and external release, no judgment given or taken
I need paths
paths to walk within the quiet of lush tall green grass
I need the solid of earth
Earth that is familiar to my soul

Once upon a river clear .............

There is a unique beauty
In the harshness of this land
Just like the indigenous people
You have to understand
You have to tread lightly
Leave no mark too deep
For a scar that can't be cleansed
Will make the honest weep
Protect the rivers and creeks
With all the might you can
Keep the coastlines pure
For that was the original plan
Let the fresh find the salt
As easy as it can
Unpolluted by society
And the history of man
Let all things be in harmony
Along the waters wide
And with it will come a bounty
We will never have to hide ......

Summer fireworks

Why always be in a rush
To get somewhere?
Slow down and absorb
The colors, tastes and smells
Of summer
Tune in to the music
That is brewing inside
Write a song and sing it
When sun rises as birds do
Dance to the drumming
Of the rain
Catch and ride the ball
Of lightning
And watch it break
Into the fireworks
Of fireflies

About this poem:
The ball of lightning passed next to me. Luckily, I was not hurt, just shaken enough to write a poem.

Rain

Hurricane Michael sending rain down
All this bad weather is like the IT clown
Somebody must be behind all this mess
Who is responsible?
I can only guess
Is it the government seeding clouds?
Is it all the global warming from too many cows?
Belching methane out of their cuds and their behinds
I just wish we could find some way to rewind
When there wasn't so many doing so wrong
Driving their CO2 producing cars
Trying to turn this planet into Mars

On My Way..............

The narrow bitumen road snaked its way through the valley
Aiming itself towards the merging range
An irony of colours lay by the roadside
A hard reflection of a dry winters pain
The creek crossings are crystal clear
A little slower than the past
But the beauty still lay in wait
For passerbys whose eyes do cast
Ancient pines lay in wait
Like sentries guarding the way
A reminder of the past
And the part they did play
Up ahead is the start
Of a very steep climb
Winding around the mountain
As you glance down the valley divine
It's a slow old slug
As the curves are very tight
Drop it down a gear or two
As you steal a glance to the right
You will feel the temp drop
And maybe even kiss some cloud
As you make your way up the range
Where the views will stand out proud .............

SPRINGTIME GOWN.

As the winter, starts to fade
Sunshine, over earth cascades
Most trees, still stand stripped bare
Other decked with colour, to compare
Changes, warn of approaching spring
Baby birds, join dawn's chorus sing
Warmth engulfs, soon soil will stir
Escaping growth, as sunshine lures
Shoots to reach for a sky, so high
Where in clear blue, soft clouds fly
Waking nature, to summer days
Grey's forgotten, as colour plays
it's part, heralding a new start
Buds and flowers, play their part
Days get longer, as clothes are shed
Sunsets glow, in pink, gold and red
People stroll, no longer they rush
Muffled up, against rain and gusts
Smiles, seem easier than a frown
As nature wears, its springtime gown.....
