Rain and wind

Rain and Wind

The rain falls from the highest in the sky
The wind carries it
Too and fro
Beating it against
My window pain
I.hardly stir
Listening to.its next move
Against my window pane
It dances on the ground
Like tapping up and down
The rain and wind
Come together like
Sister and brother
I.wont bother
Getting up
Out of my.slomber
I'll just lay here
Listening to the rain and thunder
The wind is howling
And roaring like a Lion
I wonder I wonder I wonder

Four New States

I have been trying to add states that I haven't been to yet
This year I got in Nevada and North Carolina back in February
I just got back two days ago visiting Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Kansas
I stayed overnight in Texas two nights, and Oklahoma one night
Other states I went through before were Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Arkansas
Missouri, and Iowa
I went to Galveston to see the Gulf of Mexico
I went to San Antonio to see the Alamo
I didn't really have any other places to see other that say I was in those states
Three hours to get through Louisiana and basically drove through Oklahoma
In Kansas I went to Chuck E Cheese which still had a band
So did Des Moines, Iowa(which was in better shape)
I went to Buc-ee's, a store with a good pork barbeque sandwich
I drove golf balls in Texas at a driving range where the balls pop out
I ate a good steak in Texas at Chili's
I drove about 2,900 miles and was happy

Fall Magic

Magical arch paths of beautiful jewels
And rippling beautiful blue pools
Rubies, gold, topaz, amber drifting down
To form a beautiful carpet all around

Walking in this magical place
Feeling the cool crisp breeze on one’s face
Dreaming beautiful dreams for a moment in time
Completely submerged in God’s sublime

His masterpiece paintings show us how much
He loves us all through His beautiful touch
Colors like we’ve never seen before
The bright reds and orange I especially adore

Thank you Lord for these precious fall days
Each day a special blessing of color and grace
Knowing soon coming will be winter days
Of white diamond crystals and skies of gray

Sylvan Landscape---Monorhyme

The sylvan landscape stretched for miles
reached across golden fields by stiles.
Leaves carpeted the ground like tiles
whilst branches lay in gathered woodpiles.

Ancient venerable trees lined the aisles
that wandered willy nilly like juveniles.
Along the rivers banks were basking reptiles
with mouths that upturned in happy smiles.

In the midst of the rushing water were isles
that rose up high like big projectiles.
And trees marched up the hills in files
giving shelter to the fox and his wiles.

The peace of the woodlands beguiles
within its tranquillity are no exiles.

Gathering Clouds in Moonlight (haiku)

Grey mountain of sky
Eating valiant silver ships
Wild drunk on moon blood

Mountain (haiku)

Like a fish bone knife
Patiently gutting stray clouds
For silver lining.

My Quiet Summer Dream

I dreamed this dream once
Staring into a still pond
My thoughts mere reflections
And bouncing up were images

Like a mirror laying on the grass
Was fruit ripening in beautiful trees
And those long lines of fuzzy cattails
Standing all around like tall sentries

Then I saw all twenty of them
Perfectly angled sun rays making
A briiliant halo around the sunrise
Greens and blues and yellows

Mixing everything else brown
Until at last I saw a fish jump
And I awakened when its ripples
Reached the all quiet shoreline

Oceanzest

The universe doth spin

Dreams of kings and courtiers
before the heavens
circular does the sun course
on its axis the universe doth spin

There's a moon in my window
I hear crows of vanity
from an early morning c*ck
should I sleep or rise?

Oh but I rest!
indifferent to your nature
O Universe,
'tis true
I pass the days
in trivialities
while you hold
magnificence
in your hand
and down through the ages
visionaries and sages
I see
sunrises for strangers
travel as you will
fair waifs and strays

Nature's Song

as I skim the treetops
gazing all around
birds on nearby branches
joyfully sing their song

looking upwards on high
never ceases to astound
white clouds on a blue sky
looming in the background

glancing downwards
my vision contacts the ground
where water in a nearby stream
gently flows along

leaves that fell from the trees
have all turned to brown
dotting the green grass
growing on the ground

among the fallen leaves
some wildflowers abound
painting a lovely picture
leaving me spellbound

Weeding In The Garden

I am happy just kneeling here
On this warm bare ground
Scrunched down on my knees
Pulling weeds all around

No one comes to bother me
Nor do they interrupt my task
Not even a busy wandering bee
Looking for directions might ask

Other people leave me alone
A little wave -- a passing smile
Not even a ringing phone
Can be heard for a country mile

I shall stay ’til work is done
Or 'til the dinner bells echo
Waiting for the setting sun
Changes into reds from yellow

I am happy just kneeling here
On this warm bare ground
Scrunched down on my knees
Pulling weeds all around

About this poem:
The lovely task of pulling weeds and just enjoying solitude. Nobody will bother you or try and take your job away. It is blessedly peaceful and mindfulness all wrapped in one.
