Title Unknown

Don't think of him as gone away
his journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears,
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think of how he must be wishing
that we could know today,
how nothing but our sadness
can really go away.

And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched...
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.

The Matador ( by Steven Reeve )

In the rage of the noonday sun,
In a suit of glittering light's He doe's come,
To face death,
To leave the crowd, with bated breath.

He stands erect and proud,
His name the aficionados shout out loud,
El Leon, El Leon, they cry,
And wonder if today, He will die.

The gate is open, the bull is out,
Six hundred kilos without a doubt,
El Toro spies the man,
It will kill Him if it can.

With graceful movements He swings His cape,
Leaving the crowd with mouths agape,
Though young in years,
This Matador has taken many ears.

El Toro moves in for a kill,
For the mob it is such a thrill,
It's horns pass within an inch,
And El Leon thought this would be a cinch.

The crowd does frown,
For El Leon is down,
But wait He rises,
And everyone surprises.

And now the ultimate thrill,
El Leon has decided, the kill,
El Toro face's the final part,
As the Matadors sword pierces his heart.

Ole, Ole, they shout,
Let the next bull out,
But first to the Matador,
The ears must go.

He was brave, He was strong,
The crowd moves forward as one,
El Leon, El Leon, they cry,
We know you will never die.

About this poem:
Wanting to create something similar
I failed with dismal results
So I turned to the masters of verse
On the same subject matter of my choosing
To see just how poetic it could be
Maybe learning on the way
I dont know if he famous
But his words made it all so dramatic
This sport that ends in death.
I really enjoyed it so I am sure you will too.

Benji is missing.

BENJI IS MISSING

“Where has he gone, Oh! What can I do?”
My poor little Benji, is it really true?”
Poor Mrs Willis afraid for her friend,
Reports to the police she fears a sad end.

Still no Benji, as three days pass by
Stuck with the mystery the police don’t know why,
Benji is a dog, a Labrador of gold
He’s kind, good with children, and four years old.

“It’s not like him to just run away,”
Poor Mrs Willis has little else to say,
Constable Swift tells of her enquiries so far,
With two cops on the beat, and one in a car.

On the sixth day, Benji then reappears
Smothered with kisses and plenty of tears
Officer Smythe told of the time our friend had,
Just four streets away, and now he’s a dad.

“Oh! Benji my lad, what are we going to do,
You are a good boy, but I have missed you so too”,
Although he is a proud father to a litter of eight
No more will she let him beyond the front gate.

The Hunt

My blood burns
As I begin the hunt
My prey is swift and canny
Yet I have patience

Softly, I pad through the grass
I hear the scamper of feet
My pulse quickens
My prey is near

I sniff the air
Catching the scent
Swiftly, silently I lope
The grass parts without a sound

I pounce upon my prey
Jaws closing on the neck
Blood fills my mouth
I feel the last pulse

After my feast
I lay in the sun
Awaiting the next day
The next prey.

If i was Panda Bear

If i was a Panda bear..i'd probably live in zoo for children to see, especially for you.I'd look like most other bears, except i'm black and white.Although i may appear reddish brown in the morning light.I'd like to spend my time alone eating from 10 to 12 hours a day.Since my other time is spent resting. There is very little time for play.Although i look like other bears,i would not hibernate as i eat bamboo shoots, stems and leaves. My body not enough fat to insulate..from chewing so much.My head appears big and round, when i have newborn pandas. They are tiny about a fourth of a pound.I live in a zoo that is true. However,China is my home.We pandas are becoming extinct freely we don't roam..(23.05.10)

Darcy

My old friend, now forever gone.
I still miss you, so many years on,
A head on my shoulder, as we sat down,
A nudge at my hand, as we walked around.

I talked, you listened, I miss you still,
As I think of you now, I always will.
A confident, a friend you were always there,
A piece of my heart, you will always share.

crows teach to live life

crows crows almost like cows frightened by farmers whom do not understand, scavengers they are just like man families they must feed, miss understood by man and all prophecy`s point to evil within them all,
black as the mad hatters hat yet within the light of the golden gate,
how do they be hated by so many kinds , look deep within their eyes,
deep within you will see a jungle lies full off surprise and sparkle,
my lovely birds tell stories of jungle panthers to the man walking the land in need of thirst, how the real defenders are those mankind have forgotten, that`s like all man kind shy and forgotten look deep within their eyes and stories you could only dream appear, appear like the heavenly skies and the lord whom walk`s from the golden door, feel their eyes go deep within the galaxy that mankind has feared for life ,perhaps the darkness of the crows due flight the color of its eyes are the door ways to heaven hidden behind the blackness of its pupils , open your wings and picture your flight as you like crow take that straight white line , fly free and as the crow flys straight to a better life from within your eyes to your heart tonight, the night of the crow is here within tonight under the full moonlight , open your eyes and your heart and begin to live life.

IF IT SHOULD BE

IF IT SHOULD BE

If it should be that I grow weak
And pain should keep me from my sleep,
Then you must do what must be done,
For this last battle cannot be won.

You will be sad, I understand.
Don't let your grief then stay your hand.
For this day, more than all the rest,
Your love for me must stand the test.

We've had so many happy years.
What is to come can hold no fears.
You'd not want me to suffer so;
The time has come -- please let me go.

Take me where my need they'll tend,
And please stay with me till the end.
Hold me firm and speak to me,
Until my eyes no longer see.

I know in time that you will see
The kindness that you did for me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I've been saved.

Please do not grieve -- it must be you
Who had this painful thing to do.
We've been so close, we two, these years;
Don't let your heart hold back its tears.

The Colt

Bold one month old
Fast as a bolt of light
Colt don't do as hes told
Marches to the sound of
His own hoof
Hes a little aloof but the
Day will come when this
Colt of mine will be a
Fine horse.

The ASPCA

Well I have one shot left.
I'm bound to be saved now
It's got to work out
It just has to.

The doors open
Time to do or die

Mommy mommy mommy!
I want a kitty!
Ouch, no chance there.

Oh honey, let's get a dog.
Ah here we go.
Not this one
It's misshapen
and is that a bitemark in its ear?
That would give my Lola nightmares.
Love ya too, judgmental b*tch

Hmm let's check out their canine selection
This one looks like it hasn't seen love in a long time
Sad eyes
couple fight scars
underfed, unclean
Let's see what else they have here
Don't forget me, dude!

So, this is the pound.
WOA, look at that mutt I beg your pardon!
He looks so freaky!
Sorry buddy
Darwin takes over now!
thanks for stating the obvious douchebag.

Yea! Yea that's right!
Just walk on through you posers
you window shoppers
You're wasting my time
getting my hopes up when you never
intended to make a commitment.
I'd have bitten your shins for that.

Oh no
It's been forever
and no one else is coming.
Hey! Hey!
People!
We're OPEN!
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
SAVE ME!

Oh crap
No
no
don't take me now
There's more people coming!
I'm sure of it!
Give me some more time!
I'm healthy! I'm clean!
NO
LET ME GO!!
PLEASE ANYTHING BUT THIS!

HELLO?!
SOMEONE PLEASE COME SAVE ME!
HURRY!!
WHERE ARE YOU?!
Buddy, Spike, go get help!
Oh NO

Stop please
you've got the wrong dog!
I don't belong here!
There's gonna be a real sad kid if you do this now, mister!
HEY! Don't Shut that door!
I'm talking to you!
HEY!HEY!HEY!!!

LET ME OUt
NOW, COME on
I HAVE JUST AS MUCH Time
AS THE OTHER dogs
Come on
LEt me out
I'M A GOod boy
please

let me out

help me

someone's coming for me

About this poem:
If I could format it more specifically, the lines towards the end would actually get smaller in size. But otherwise, it's a good poem, with a unique perspective. Also, for a treat, count the number of captial letters in the final stanza per line.
