My Feathered Friends

Why do the birds fly high and on by when there is sunshine in the sky? They always stay together no matter what the weather. Flying and playing around, looking for food on the ground.

I feed these birds everyday and if I do not, they surely have a word or two, (I mean chirps!) to say. When I go outside they sit on this one tree just waiting on me.

It is nice to have my friends with feathers that are always there. Feels good that they care. When I feed them I have to tell you they do not want to share. Sometimes there is one or two that I have to shoo when they act in the wrong way.

In the evening, I say good nite and they know I will be there come morning, because I trust and know God watches over them and not to worry about tomorrow, for it will take care of itself.

Fly away to my feathered friends. Time has come for you to go. Fall is here and this I know. Soon the leaves will fall and I will no longer hear your call. I shall miss you my friends. See you soon when the seasons ends.

Marmalade The Cat.....Children's poem

Poor Marmalade was so unhappy
since her family moved house
she lay in her bed looking all floppy
with no interest in chasing a mouse.

She missed all the cats from town
since moving to the country
all she could do was sulk and frown
the life had gone out of her she felt so empty.

Then one day a new kitten did arrive
a kitten called blue
Marmalade began to feel alive
all at once she knew what to do.

She'd show Blue how to catch mice
how to steal food when no one was looking
how to groom her coat making it look nice
on cold winters nights they'd lay snuggling.

Marmalade settled down her head resting on a shoe
stretching out and yawning
with her little paw around Blue
she fell into a contented sleep till morning.

AL DI LA MY LOVE

AL DE LA MY LOVE

You and I had everything calculated and planned
We were just following fate and its every command
Two souls were going to find forever in an unexpected land
And neither of us would dare to defy destiny’s demand

We were supposed to last a lifetime together no matter what
That was this man and his lady’s predetermined plot
No one could rattle our teacups or shake up the place
Not as long as two lovers had the other’s embrace

I recall adding and subtracting and then reaching a perfect sum
We were sitting on a settee having biscuits and sharing one glass of rum
We shared everything including time, smiles and each other’s past
But simply because a person says “forever” doesn’t mean it will last

Because you hit a rocky road or a curve at too great a speed
You died and I didn’t believe death could be so easily decreed
We were acting in haste while all the time we thought, devised and planned and sadly together we will never find that forever’s clandestine land

antipathy for death

death has a strachy gaullist french look,
he officiates"paris gare du nord"..
the bloke, really ,doesn't likes seasoned haikus.
croissants are frozen,
coffee a taste of anorexia..
poets dont go to paris..

She

She approaches, joy written across her beautiful face
Brown eyes twinkle with love and happiness
She responds to your caress, leaning in to your hand
soft, silky to touch, returning the gentle pressure
No words spoken,
but you just know she is asking to spend time with you,
and you alone.
The love wraps around you, it fills the empty spaces
Come to me, she lets you know now is the time
the time for release
the time for sharing your love
As you pick up the keys,
Her excitement cant be contained
It is her time,
it is your time
It is time for a walk, the best way to any dogs heart!

I want to go out.

He placed his paw upon my knee.
Those big brown eyes stared up at me.
As if to say so tenderly.
Don't you know, can't you see?
Oh I wish, I wish you were a tree.

About this poem:
As Velsi is a Lady, this poem? wouldn't really be appropriate, if you follow but it's written with her in mind.

The one that got away

They called him Plucky
He was a silly little thing
Chasing the Jennies
Left to right, right to left
Morning to night, night to morning
His stubby little tail danced and swayed
He knew this was a life of fun
Until one day the horsemen arrived
They came with whips and spurs
And they sang trail songs
And yelled loudly and frightened them all
Many burrows were captured, with the rope or chased
But he dodged them quickly
And came face to face
He balked and snorted
Stomped and brayed
And with a huff and a puff
He was gone...gone away

A horse for the course!

Maybe one day I will buy a horse.

Then when it finishes last in the Grand national I can sell it as the greatest horse to have never won the
famous race.

I will tell the people that if it had of just got over that first fence
It would of... fell at the second!

When they interview me I will tell the media that I never trained the animal to jump fences. When they ask me why?
I will say I was afraid he’d fall!

When they explain he did actually fall I will say I told you!

Miuil

While looking in a field of green
I see something, no doubt
A spot far in the distance
Too far off to make it out

A figure in the open plane
A solitary thing
With nothing else around it
Far away from anything

While looking at this object
We then see it start to move
The spot starts to get bigger
And its silhouette improves

It starts to take its shape
We see it's body and it's feet
And then it's right upon us
We are privy to a treat

We welcome such a lovely steed
A really friendly lad
His name we're told is miuil
And his story is so sad

Each day he sits out in a field
Alone, in solitude
Were grasses hardly grow at all
Which causes lack of food

He roams around this open field
No shelter from the rain
Wild winds blow in from everywhere
to run would be in vain

He can't escape the elements
No matter where he goes
but that is not the worst of it
Not everybody knows

This problem is a mental one
It lies within his mind
It's getting worse as time goes on
As bad as you will find

See being alone for so long
Leads to stress, anxiety
Where most would simply lose their minds
If it were left to be

But if a home were found for him
And lots of company
Recovery would not take long
And he would be happy

So if you may know someone
Who would like to take him home
We promise them, they will be glad
And he'll happily roam.
