hear me

Hear me brethren, please give me an ear.
Listen to me, even what I speak here.
Please hear me, for the sake of your life.
I plea to all men, please end your strife.
Listen to me speak of a life without end.
To understand more, an ear you must lend.
I am but a man, that and no more.
A servant of God I have been since he showed me the door.
My Lord is the alpha and omega, both the beginning and end.
To him open your heart, and your wounds he will mend.
Riches he offers far beyond compare.
For, Jesus, his son has paid our fare.
Serve him with your mind, body, and soul.
Only then will you have riches untold.
Acknowledge him in all of thy ways.
Then shall you find wisdom, understanding, and add length to thy days.
Chisel his word on the tablet of thine heart.
And all of thy evil ways depart.
Long did I wander and ever was I lost.
For the time I wandered so high was the cost.
But the lord he did find me and now I know him.
And my life has been blessed, even since then.
He ended my troubles and silenced my fears.
Ever will I love and serve him for all of my years.
Righteous he is and justice he gives.
To all of who by his law lives.
Greatest of all is the Lord my god, praise him above all praise, for of all he is Lord.
He is the peace bringer he needs not the sword.
At his command the wind it does still.
As he commands I shall do his will.
At his will the earth breaks up and the waters recede.
He looks after his servants and fulfills their needs.
He commands all, and he is master of time.
It is of him that I speak my rhyme.
Everlasting life he offers to all men.
My god I put above all in my life, forever. Amen.

In The Blink Of An Eye

In the blink of an eye
A baby is born
Fat and round and jolly
Gazing wide eyed
Wonders abound
A world so strange and new

In the blink of an eye
The baby has grown
A youth tall and slender
Wisdom shines forth
From eyes so bright
And words of learning
Burst from His lips

In the blink of an eye
The youth has grown
A man strong and sturdy
A man tempted, a man tormented
Walking straight and true
A master, a servant
Healing in His hands

In the blink of an eye
The man is hung
Nailed upon a cross
Weary, tortured
Mocked and abused
All sin upon His head

In the blink of an eye
The man is dead
Died for you and me
Took all our sins
Gave us peace
Life eternally

In the blink of an eye
He arose again
Death unable to triumph
Love in His hands
Love in His words
Resurrection life eternal

In the blink of an eye
The day will come
Before Him we shall stand
Blessed be He
Holy be He
The word eternal

About this poem:
Someone once said to me that this drama called life is played out on the stage of the world in the blink of God's eye. It was from this the idea of 'In The Blink Of An Eye' was born.

Child of God

HAIR OF RED, SLENDER AND TALL
A GIRL, YOUTH ON HER SIDE
ANGELS DANCING ROUND HER HEAD
AND JESUS IN HER HEART
ROBES OF SPOTLESS WHITE SHE WEARS
AND TRUTH UPON HER LIPS
MERCY AND GRACE AT HER SIDE
SPREADS LOVE WHERE SHE GOES
A CHILD OF GOD, SHE WALKS WITH HIM
A BLESSING TO HER FATHER
I WONDER DEEP WITHIN MY HEART
IS THIS THE WAY MY FATHER SEES ME

The Preacher's Lie

With pupils fixed on the collection plate,
Sweat streaming down a wretched face,
And lethally distended neck veins,
He appealed to the sympathy of his victims,
“God wants us all to be rich!” he cried.
“Cast your bread upon the waters!” someone implored;
Maybe an accomplice, a friend or a fool.
“Amen!” shrieked a woman, lavishly dressed,
As she stutters like an old engine and crumbles to the floor.

Is it I alone who have seen this act,
The false prophet, the woman, and the fool,
All part of a ridiculous plot?
It's just another tale from the swindler’s script.
He echoes again the fib from his lips:
“God wants us all to be rich!”
Did Jesus wear Armani suits and ties,
And sandals made from crocodiles’ hide?
The crowd applauded the exaggerated stunt,
As he frolics, shivers and growls,
Like someone who’s drunk.
Remember the slogan that says: “In God we trust?”
Preserve this notion:
The poor will always be with us.

The Hands of God

He uphold me in the hollow of his mighty hands,
So far above the sinking sand.
Holy angels around me stand,
Ten thousand times ten thousands.

I’m preserved in the cavity of his stalwart palms;
I’m sheltered from life’s raging storm.
On life’s angry seas my soul is calm.
His strength is mine, his will perform.

He protect me in his strong, cavernous grasp,
As I watch my troubles slowly pass.
In his care I’m free at last.
His will be done, it’s mine to ask.

I am "who"!

From the birth wanted to discover
who am I and what I am here for!
Now I am coming to fifty one
yet my question has found answer none!

Everything is changing all the time
me, you and all of the existence!
by the time i feel I know, who I am!
second later life becomes magicle pretence!

lIfe is a journey that never stop....
gives you an idea as you are the "boss'
yet keep going away from your own hands
in the end nothing remains...
turns in to sands!

Sit With Me

oh my child who weeps at night
and feels so all alone
know that in my sight you are
a creature perfect born

your blemishes they disappear
with robes of spotless white
know the love that covers you
and all your father's might

all good things I want for you
that heaven has to offer
so cry no more you child of God
your father's love does cover

rejoice to know your heritage
in heaven is waiting
sit with me at my right hand
together there forever

GUZMAN1

Ghazal by Agha Shahid Ali

Where are you now? Who lies beneath your spell tonight?
Whom else from rapture’s road will you expel tonight?

Those “Fabrics of Cashmere--“ ”to make Me beautiful--“
“Trinket”-- to gem– “Me to adorn– How– tell”-- tonight?

I beg for haven: Prisons, let open your gates–
A refugee from Belief seeks a cell tonight.

God’s vintage loneliness has turned to vinegar–
All the archangels– their wings frozen– fell tonight.

Lord, cried out the idols, Don’t let us be broken
Only we can convert the infidel tonight.

Mughal ceilings, let your mirrored convexities
multiply me at once under your spell tonight.

He’s freed some fire from ice in pity for Heaven.
He’s left open– for God– the doors of Hell tonight.

In the heart’s veined temple, all statues have been smashed
No priest in saffron’s left to toll its knell tonight

God, limit these punishments, there’s still Judgment Day–
I’m a mere sinner, I’m no infidel tonight.

Executioners near the woman at the window.
Damn you, Elijah, I’ll bless Jezebel tonight.

The hunt is over, and I hear the Call to Prayer
fade into that of the wounded gazelle tonight.

My rivals for your love– you’ve invited them all?
This is mere insult, this is no farewell tonight.

And I, Shahid, only am escaped to tell thee–
God sobs in my arms. Call me Ishmael tonight.

Who is This Man

Who is this man beneath this hat
So old and weather beaten
Wisdom shines from his eyes
And words are softly spoken
The words are kind, encouraging
To lift and bless the hearer
Cleanse the mind and stir the heart
And set the soul rejoicing
Who is this man that quietly goes
And spreads the word of the Gospel
Brings a soul to salvation's door
Then goes back about his business
This man to whom many owe their life
Who drifts along unacknowledged
All he wants in this life to do
Is the work set by his Father

Show me.

As I think about life, I find myself beginning to write.
I know not where this rhyme will end, this night.
Will it end that way or this? or maybe some way I cannot foresee.
I do not think it matters for I am writing what is me.
My thoughts and feelings is what I put in verse.
To give me strength, so Through life I may continue to traverse.
I took the wrong path in life and have been proven the fool.
I know it has no exception, this wicked rule.
But I cannot go back and make things right again.
So I must live with my own little creation, this world of pain.
But I may affect the future if I can but be understanding and wise.
But a fool I have always been, and myself is what I despise.
For I am to blame for all my mistakes.
And to go on; I know not if I have what it takes.
I hope beyond hope and wish beyond dreams.
That I may see what is here and it will not be as it seems.
But tonight I will bow my head and once again pray.
That the Lord will stay with me, and show me wisdom with the dawning day.
