On Religion

While I am not religious,
I have many friends who are.
I'm glad they have this comfort,
Through life's journies near and far.

I do believe in karma,
Seen it happen many times.
You get what you have given,
Be it good deeds, be it crimes.

It is not always instant,
And it can take many years.
Ev'ry smile comes back to you,
Right along with all your tears.

Sure the world's a better place,
Than it would be otherwise,
Because of folks believing,
They are watched by judging eyes.

I have not been blessed with faith,
But believe that I'm no fool.
Try at all times to be kind,
And obey the Golden Rule.

faith

Open your eyes
see the invisible
open your hand
touch the untouchable
reach the unreachable
dreams carry you there

Faith is invisible
yet she is believable
telling us things
this world cannot do
sharing the language
of God and his world

Faith is the dove
landing on dry ground
faith is the messenger
open to all
faith is a traveller
to this terrestrial ball

Faith is something
we use everyday
believing and trusting
be it a project idea or person
faith in our talents
to get the job done

Sleepers

Awaken sleepers
as if from a dream.
Everything now
is not as it seemed.
Rouse, be stirred,
up and awake.
Into silences lost,
go the chapters of fate.
Until such a time
as the lost shall be found
The taste,
the sight
and the smell of the sound.

Awaken now sleepers,
look 'round.

Betrothal

In a quiet place,
You and I,
Below an evening sky.
Joined,
Betrothed forever.

Separate
Yet same.
My name imprinted,
Your name etched,
Upon each others heart.

Wove and ducked through
lifetimes pain,
To meet, to part,
And meet again.

To kneel before You,
Open out,
And touch our heart.
One more time
When nothing,
No force,
will make us part.

Adore

I adore the sound of Your sweet voice.
Adore Your strength, Your resolute choice.
You inspire and awaken me
Akushla, every second, of every hour.
Words cannot wrap my love for You.
Cannot rein, cannot bind, cannot resemble,
Describe or say what I really feel.
My heart does not beat without Your
Love.
For, in that beat, there is a double beat, which is
You.

earths soil - our dark soul

Walking through the dark in daylight
darkness holds the soul in blindness
from the truth that can be known
seeds of truth into the garden
of the earth are freely sown
seeds must drop into the soil

Enter into darker realms
but beneath the hidden sunlight
forces work on seed below
crushing shell and interacting
with the nutrients below
slowly birth begins to happen

Hidden from the watchers view
what was put into the darkness
now emerges fresh to view
darkness is the place you find
light can shine into the mind
truth is born in newer vision

Rise again in different gaze
rise again transformed and new
be it fruit or plant or flower
natures womb produces too.

Sunset

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----Not for the life of me
Will I ever know if this where I should be
Over there the grass is green
But I will stay here and plant a new tree
They have never taken root before
Reminds me there is a lesson down every road
Maybe I will think my choices over again
But maybe this time a new road will begin
One that leads me to my destiny
How strange it took my demons to set me free
From a life of restitution
And save myself from my own self destruction
So my skies are no longer just night and day
Somewhere in the middle is a different shade
But thats where I found my peace of mind
I think I will paint my fence and rest in the new shade on my side

About this poem:
I could not think of a title but one that took me to that place as I planted a dying crape myrtle in my back yard.

~Salvation~

I stand before you
Seeking redemption
Keep me from temptation...

On bended knees
I pray, Oh please....

Wash me in your blood
Cover me as in a flood...

Nothing short of God above
And His mighty love...

The Roaring Void

So, it seems like stillness.
Like a void is empty?
No sound?
No movement?
Nothing concrete?

But the hum is loud.
Conspicuous in its seeming silence.
Like a thousand radios tuned off station.
Static as far as can be heard.

In between the roaring void.
Like little flickering stars of sound.
As if signalling to be seen or heard.
Amidst the insane conversation,
and words of deceit.

The hate in speech.
The violent tirade.
The little cries of 'help'.
The prayers of the innocents.
Are all heard.

The void does roar.
The void is full.
The screeching's real.
The shrilling's solid.
What hits hard,
is the roaring void.

Soul Searching

The ocean swirls, surrounding thoughts adrift,
my mind at peace, a temporary lull,
internal wandering gives the soul a lift,
too soon the journey ends, the spirit dulls.
How can we keep our thoughts ablaze,
dark skies at bay for those who care,
remain afloat, at peace for all our days,
ride out dark storms, rough waters bear.
To answer this I crawl inside my soul,
seeking God's light, his inner peace.
It is through God, we find the key,
from him the answers come to set us free.

About this poem:
I think it's good for each of us to seach withn ourselves for answers. Most of us have periods of time when we question ourselves and what we believe.
