WHY WORRY

Humans must live with a degree of sorrow
just knowing we're not promised tomorrow
An existence inundated with crippling grief
it seems dying is the only relief

Without mercy life incessantly pounds you
getting back up harder and harder to do
Humanity most responsible for unduly pain
mankind steadily straying farther from sane

Longing for answers to life induces stress
if we can't grasp or control it why obsess
Life makes little to no sense so Why Worry
the unknown was meant to be blurry

Answer to why we're here, there isn't one
reasons we shouldn't be are a ton

THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD

Embedded image from another site

To walk into the outdoors with eyes of wonder
Seeing nothing but adventure around the corner
Something different to explore and see each day
To look at everything as fresh and new to play

Everything looks bigger – more beautiful and new
Never bored – always something exciting to do
Looking wide eyed at all the fun and beauty around
Pretending to be a Prince or Princess with a crown

Boys with swords and a new Dragon to slay
Girls with long jeweled skirts – different every day
Boys fishing with their hands and squealing with glee
While girls kissing frogs hoping for a Prince to see

If only as adults we could be as carefree
Always seeing something new – happy and free
To look at the world through the eyes of a child
And be able to enter each day with a happy smile

A man without Love......

I have become an empty shell
Filled will heartache pain and despair
If I cannot praise you or raise you, who am I without whom I love
I must love myself then you
When I find my purpose, I will discover yours
No talent or skill puts me above you, no lowness will put you beneath me
When I find love within myself, I will find me and discover you
We must love to find love, when we do it’s a marvelous thing
When my empty shell becomes full, then I can help fill yours
Love cannot be measured or contained, freely you let go freely it will come back to you
Let your guard down submit to the will, love is knocking just let it in
Allow it to consume you while you drop your phony pride

An Angel On Earth - Good Intentions

The angel sent here, so focused in mind
The land in the dark so hard to define
So silent with no creature to be found
The whispering breeze the only audible sound
Yet she hears the mass and their cries
Riddled with pain and misled by lies
The angel, walking, picks up the pace
Determination etched on her angelic face
The angel finally comes upon a small house
A man inside, screaming at his spouse
"How could you go and have an affair?!"
"I never have!", his wife cried in despair
Overwhelmed by the urgent need to help
She plunged inside before she could stop herself
The angel would put a stop to this fight
It's why she is here, this is her plight
She told them to stop and listen to each other
Listen to the way you're screaming at your lover
She told them to remember the love that they shared
Think of all the secrets that you've bared
Then something happened, something very strange
The man had become even more deranged
He began shouting, cursing and spraying spittle
Not willing to listen, not even a little
"Get the hell out of my home!"
They wouldn't listen, she should have known
The angel departed through the open door
The urge to rectify growing evermore
Disappointed, but not yet giving up
Even she could not deal with the corrupt
She would start on a much smaller scale
She longed to make a difference by the end of this tale
Now, here she was on the road again
In search of some lost soul to befriend
"Next time will be different", the angel vowed
No more setbacks could be allowed
Soon she came upon a withered old man
As soon as he saw her he began to demand
"I know who you are, I know of your kind!
Servant of God or not, here's a piece of my mind
All my life I've lived by this curse
Everything just goes from bad to worse
Your God took away my beloved wife
And my son too, he took his own life
I've been on my own for so many years
Many, many sleepless night and unheard tears
I have no money and nowhere to live
Relying on food strangers seldom give
I will hear none of your stories!
Of that God in all His supposed glory."
He spat and turned and hobbled away
The shocked angel quietly began to pray
"I have to go, I can't do anything here
It's almost a lost cause" she feared
Next time she would devise a plan
She could'nt just appear to any man

About this poem:
I am not a religious person but going to catholic schools has influenced some of my writing. I think religion is a pretty concept even if I can't embrace it myself. Also quite long, sorry bout that.

We pray...

We pray to many things to God
And we hope from him to make
Our wishes come true very fast
But we forget to pray for one
Important thing to God-which?

To make us to know ourselves
To make us to accept ourselves
To teach us to love ourselves.
We ask God to help us to find our half.
How?If we can't find ourselves?

We pray to God only we need
By something or we loose someone dear us
Why we can't pray to god for simply fact
We exist in this world?

If You Would Find an Answer

If you would find an answer
to what's been troubling you
Would you shout it from the rooftops
And rejoice to find it's true?

If life hand's you sorrows
You really cannot bear
If you lose the ones you love
Or if no one seems to care

Will your heart continue hoping
That love will bless your day
That hope will not be hopeless
That love will find a way?

When no one understands
and you feel all alone
Will you put your hand in God's
Will you believe you are His own?

Even in all your struggles
What could they all be for!
Can you "see" a shining light
Upon a shining shore

A dream that seems to call you
A day you know will dawn
A day when joy surrounds you
Your struggles all are gone

As you melt into the arms
Of the One who calls your Name
Love meets love, and glorious Light
Shines rainbows from the rain.

Cold Turkey Mornings

Cold Turkey Mornings

I walk in the shadow of the man I would be
trying to arrange my jigsaw world, as did he.
My drunken fire consumed my old life before
now I ask myself for more, can there be more?
Is there anything from my past life I can save
can I recapture friendships lost upon my wave?

Shivering dryness as I try to be myself again,
can I rekindle the passion my heart felt then?
The periodic near sanity comes on more often
but my cold turkey mornings still never soften!
Through my mind my thoughts stumble and grope
yet I hope upon hope, there must always be hope!
