A Soul T Keep

Have my soul to keep
Secure my heart in a conscious mind
Remember that angels see every droplet of blood sacrificed
Our thoughts sprout golden wings to fly beyond the windows of a breathing cage
So let no demons lead you
Allow my love to light the dim and darkend places
A soul to keep near as we travail the path of life before the birth to come after the mighty mountains crumble and fade

Ancient of Days

In the darkness of the night
When the stars shine so bright
And through my hair blows a gentle breeze
Then I, with my face to the sky
Stand in total awe, overcome
That all this my God created
And my soul lifts and soars
Singing praises to the Ancient of Days

About this poem:
I was talking to an elderly Gent (in his 90's) and he told me that every night he stands under the stars and praises the 'Ancient of Days'

What Would Jesus Find

If Jesus came and walked today
The streets of Adelaide
What would he find, what welcome there
For Son of God this day

Houses of God so big and grand
Are shuttered and tightly barred
Keeping possessions within their walls
Away from vandal's grasp

To worship there within these houses
At times not specified
Is something that one cannot do
For God's been locked away

At Christmas time Christ's been removed
Replaced by cold Xmas
Celebrating birth of Christ
Is now almost forbidden

And everywhere and all around
The forces dark they gather
Anything to do with Christ
They ban and transform to immoral

At Easter time you ask a child
What is this festive occasion
The Easter Bunny brings us toys
And lots of lollies for munching

What about the cross where Jesus died
And then His resurrection
They look so blank and shake their heads
Dunno nothing bout that one

Leaders of churches here and there
With changes advocating
Bible's outdated, not relevant
Our own rules we should be making

Universities, the seat of learning
Teaching truth that's new
All roads lead to salvation
And Jesus was only a jew

Crime is rampant, life is cheap
Police are busy on the streets
Pull them over, meet the quota
Have to raise more revenue

Family clinics, they call themselves
Who murder the unborn
They on earth who have no voice
In Heaven screams reverberate

Oh how Jesus would weep and wail
As these streets He'd walk
To see the pain and suffering
That man inflicts on man

Is this the world I envisioned
When first I did create
Creatures dark and ugly
Their souls twisted by hate

And yet when further He did look
Some signs that were encouraging
Maybe all was not yet lost
There's good amongst this other

Groups around both small and large
Meet to worship God
The large on Sunday at the church
The small at other times

Some Pastors, Ministers, Preacher men
Believe the word of God
Bible truths are taught therein
And Living Waters flow

Yes there's those that upright stand
And abortion they do fight
Give the unborn right to life
Let their silence be loudly heard

Frustration shows on policemen's face
Those that battle crime
Solve the crime, find the one
So the courts can set them free

And even there in universities
There's those that disagree
Only path to salvation leads
Trough Jesus, God's Son He be

Good men, good women
They are all around
Live their life Christ's way
A community on their own

And yet His heart it sorely ached
So many lost their way
How He wished they would come
And repent of their evil ways

For God so loved you and me
His only Son He sent
That all might have eternal life
Blessed by the King

Who am I

Who am I? I ask myself
But the answer's not forthcoming
Twisting and turning, this way and that
From all angles I look at the question
But all I meet is silence within
For me the answer's not given
My eyes must seek much further afield
For the one that knows the answer
He that created all that I see
The one that always will be
Jesus gives the answer I seek
I'm a son of God, a child beloved

Quietly, Softly, Gently

Quietly, softly, gently, a heart beats at night
A lonely heart, an aching heart
One filled with pain and fears

Quietly, softly, gently, I weep in the night
Aching, breaking, my pillow soaked with tears

Quietly, softly, gently, You tiptoe in my room
You hold my hand, stroke my brow, whisper 'I love you'

Quietly, softly, gently, you wipe away my tears
Blessed grace, saving grace, flowing through and through

Quietly, softly, gently, I drift off to sleep
Saving love, covering love, my Jesus watches me

Ignored

My heart lay upon the floor
Demons laugh as the Devil ask for more
pulled my stregnth from the very core
stepped out the shadow without scar or sore
Repent to Redeem Evolved for sure
Lift dark with light thats true cure
shine bright, give pray, my light is pure
Alone i stay, wait to break the devils lure
pray for the sinners, kind god does adore
Raining justice i watch as it DownPours evil deeds will not be turned or IGNORED

I Am There

At the break of dawn as the sun shatters the sky
Dissolving the last vestiges of night
Bringing forth a new day, a new hope
I am there

In the mid of the day when the sun beats down
Drying and baking the ground
When the heat haze covers the land
I am there

In the cool of the evening as the sun sets
And the breeze blows away the day's heat
Bringing relief to the land
I am there

In the dark of night when the sky is covered with stars
And the friendly light of the moon
Shines down to show the way
I am there

I have always been there and
I always will be there
With my arms open wide
Waiting for you to call me

Blank Page talking

Here I sit, looking at a blank page.
It looks back as a wise sage.
it is telling me nothing that I do not already know,
live not into the past but to the future and grow.
or look to the past lest you be forced to live.
Look into your heart and find what it is you have to give.
Build not your house upon the sand,
and look not to the wisdom of any man.
for the wisdom of men is but foolishness,
for he is stubborn with unwarranted bullishness.
look into your soul and find understanding,
watch your feet so you do not wind up landing,
into trouble or pain or suffering and sorrow.
Hold always to the hope of a brand new tomorrow.
look to thy neighbor and lend a kind word,
or tilt thine haughty chin up and look absurd.
look deep inside thyself and see if you can find,
one thing of sanity from the insanity of the human mind.

O.D.

Through my veins the drugs course
And oh I feel so fine
Life was meant to be lived this way
Every day a high

The colours dazzling swirl around
And there's music in my ears
My body feels so light and free
The mind the cosmos roams

But what is this, my body twists
And pain so sharp and clear
The drugs I took, not good this time
My pusher's poisoned me

Oh how the pain it burns me up
My body twists and turns
And last thoughts as life flees
I'm much too young to die

And suddenly I see myself
This body lifeless spread
How come, what's going on
I know that I am dead

I've heard it said that when you die
Your soul it carries on
This was told many times to me
By ones called Jesus Freaks

But I never believed in Jesus Christ
And all His goody two shoes
I said I'm part of something big
Some great universal spirit

Jesus Christ, born man they said
God's only begotten Son
Fairy tales, clap trap
A crutch for weak willed people

One minute slowly drifting round
The next feet on firm ground planted
There before me shut so tight
Two massive gates were standing

Light reflected from these gates
Dazzling white and colours bright
All colours from the rainbow
Too much, my eyes were aching

And next to gate a creature stood
An Angel by appearance
Before it lay on desk of stone
A book, thick, wide open

Is your name in Book of Life
This Angel softly spoke
If your name I find within
These gates to Heaven open

Up and down this Angel searched
Not once, not twice, but three times
Slowly sadly shook her head
Your name is not within there

Then I saw a man, The one they called
The Son of God, this Jesus
His face wet with tears that streamed
As slowly He turned backward

Further on I saw a pit
Massive flames a shooting
This is Hell, I screamed in fright
Oh God, please have mercy

Smells so putrid rose from there
And screams of pain and anguish
Horror gripped me round so tight
As demons me start calling

Had I only listened then
When Jesus freaks were talking
Things would be so different now
In Heaven I'd be residing

And suddenly in my bed I am
Pillow wet from weeping
I'm not dead, I'm still alive
This chance I'll not be missing

Was this a dream or second chance
Or vision of things to come
I know right now what I must do
To change this destiny

On my knees I pray to God
Oh Lord please help this sinner
Take my soul, take my will
My life yours for the shaping

And as I pray it seems I hear
Rejoicing in the distance
Is this the sound Angels make
When a soul is saved for Heaven

So now I speak to all Who'll hear
Don't wait till time has passed you
Heaven's real and Jesus Christ
Waiting there to greet you

About this poem:
This poem was inspired by a show that has travelled the world for the last 45 years called 'Heavens Gates, Hell's Flames'. I saw it a few years ago and the idea of this poem was born back then. It took another year before I wrote it. Unlike in the show, my character gets a second chance. I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

woe is me

Woe is me oh woe is me.
I have nothing for I lost it all.
Yet I have learned blessed humility.
High and mighty was I before my fall.
Now I am down, yea, below them all.
I am in a deep dry well.
I have no rope to climb.
God saved me from hell.
I have yet to be rescued from my plight this time.
All of my life will he guide my hand, just as he does while I write this rhyme.
No fear shall I have, for the Lord will provide.
For just as surely as he broke up the earth.
And the seas he did divide.
Over me he has watched, yea even from birth.
The Lord judges all, He judges our worth.
He gave his only son so that I may live.
When my time comes and my death is nigh.
I will thank the Lord again, for what he did give.
I will not fear when the time comes that I must die.
Yea, no fears will I have, I go to meet him on high.
In paradise we will live forever, without end.
Well shall live with him, our Lord divine.
His message with his son did he send.
Worship him I will, and for all time.
Greatest of all is this God of mine.
Guiding my feet down his path true.
Down his path I will stumble but never tarry.
As sure as he made the sky of blue.
When his servant stumbles and cannot walk, him will he carry.
With his power in my life, I am ever merry.
Good is my Lord to every upright man.
He is as water, or a breath of clean air.
Blessed are the people who follow his plan.
His path I may follow, for he paid my fare.
Each day he shows me how much he does care.
So much to me he did teach.
Blind I was, and he made me see.
The rest of my life of him will I preach.
Please hear me sisters and brothers, as I do tell thee.
My God is the greatest, for from hell he saved me.
