Icarus

circling nearer sun
too high, too hot, too foolish
embrace earth’s caress

We are all stardust

Close your mind and open your eyes,
let your mind take in just what you see.

the light falling in shivers of gold on the wood floor,
the green green leaves shaking in the trees,
the drops of rain racing down and dancing off the stones,
the dog stopping to lap at the rain water and turning it to mud,
the silver grey bird with yellow cheeks enjoying his bath of rain drops.

for a while it matters not that
the person we crave has not seen us yet,
the problems we face are making our shoulders heavy,
the feelings of fading away and never being seen again
are draining us.

we become part of the stardust that makes our world,
we become the wind, the rain and the moonbeams.
we are just cells that need to feel.

Simple math

Three is perfect to me, old as the pyramids, braided in our soul
Five is alive through hybrid eyes, perfect imperfection through perception we each have a view
Seven the number of the heavens, trinity plus a gift for me and you, pleasure is how it feels
The prime meaning of my favorite numbers, to me it's so simple, that's why I love you

About this poem:
I wrote this poem after reading we are all stardust and butterfly that lady jewel posted. I was talking to my sister yesterday about a dream that I had that when I was talking to my father about it he said my sister told him about a dream she had and it sounded like we both had the same or similar dream. We both told him about the dream separately without knowledge of the other having it. It was must have meant something because we both told him of the dream with in days of each other. This happened about a year ago. The dream was about collecting star dust from different stars. The poem that ladyjewel posted reminded me of that dream. I read the poem butterfly that she posted because some of my close friends used to tease me and call me mariposa and mariposita which they told me meant butterfly. I don't know why but those poems evoked profound feelings within me. I used to love writing poetry as a child so I started writing and the poem simple math is what came out.

Dreams

As a girl she looked up at him with childlike puppy love,
As a teenager she fell in love with his lips that drank so deeply of her,
As a lady she handed over her hand and felt it enclosed in such strength,
As a woman she gave her body that craved for his without thought,
As His woman she opened her soul and let him take it to live with his in his safe keeping.

All because he looked into her and learned her mind, saw her strength and protected her weekness, discovered her body and showed her how to feel all she could.

About this poem:
this for me is how it would be in my perfect dream,
but to find this at any age is precious.
have found parts that have been so beautiful.

Any Man who discovers a womans mind and soul has been allowed to because she has given him her trust.

masquerade (soul goddess challenge)

I climbed into my costume where there
was no way to see any part of me.
I was covered from head to toe.
You could not even see what color
skin i hid underneath.
The only thing you could tell was
that i was female.
The others inside of the party
was hid just as well.
i sat at the table watching from
a distance as people danced.
I could not tell if anyone was
interested in me.
Then as i walked to get a drink i
heard another say dance with me.
He took my hand leading me to
the dance floor.
He could not get to close to me
as my costume was big you see.
We glided along as i swayed from
here to there.
Softly he talked to me.
Asking me what i thought of this
house and the party.
When the dance was done we sat
and talked for a time or two.
Then he said do you want to see
the person underneath the costume
in front of you?
I said yes we both went into our
respective bathrooms.
Taking off the layers and climbing
out i put on a party dress.
I came out to see who had danced with me.
To my pleasure it was a gentlemen
very nicely dressed outside the door
waiting for me.
He grabbed for my hand and we headed
for the dance floor.
Where we danced the night away with
everyone's eyes watching us.
For we were not the normal couple you
see i was a little short and curvy.
He was drop dead gorgeous and he
really wanted to spend time with me.

My gift from S.G.

Dressed in black silk, with a mask covering his face,
his amazing eyes seemed to reach inside my skin and begin to heat my blood, his one hand reached out and lifted my chin, the other reached behind my neck and I felt his fingers sliding into my hair, gripping my head and holding me still.

He stood like that for what seemed like hours looking into my soul, I felt my pulse it raced from my neck down between my breasts, my blood like liquid gold pooled lower.

The smells around me became richer, the sounds faded, the wall behind me felt hard and cool and I could not remember moving.

I was sooo going to enjoy my gift....

The Gray People

They are among us..
You brush against them
on a public street
You share the water fountain
with them at your work
They sit in the stands at your
sons little league game
Even your pastor may conceal
his identity behind a mysterious
smile
Yet, an unsuspecting society goes
about its business unaware of its
inevitable and total subjugation of..
The Gray People
To date ,the only witness allegedly
to have actually encountered a Gray
was found drowned in a giant vat of
tomato soup along with a half eaten
grill cheese sandwich still stuffed in
his mouth
But there are other stories of mysterious
disappearances which the government
refuses to disclose to the general public
We only know that the local water somehow
tastes strangely different and a select group
of women have given birth to infants with
oddly shaped eyes
I, have even found myself gazing at the stars
And offering up hotdogs from a late night
cook out to whatever strange alien or diety
that is pulling our souls into its unstopable
vortex
This morning, I awoke to a quiet and sleepy
town shuffling through the streets like drugged
zombies
Even Mary Sue, my highschool sweetheart was
among the bedazed morning walkers and
although she usually abhorred my presence
was magically kind this eerie morning
For me this invasion had taken a turn for
the better as I then began to call upon
all the girls who had jilted me and persuaded
them to make restitution
Yes, I guess you could say that I have
become spokesman for the Gray People
We mean you no harm and it is useless
to resist us
Join us my friends and we shall conquer
the world!

The dark room

The party was in full swing all around were watching the dancing and play,
She walked off and nobody noticed, the dark room was quiet and no one seemed to be there so she wondered inside, the soft curtains fell closed and blocked of the little light that had showed her a tiny room.

Sitting in the corner she closed her eyes and let the peace wash over her, the hum of the party seemed to sooth her soul, and the world was left behind.

She felt His body heat oddly warming, she sensed His hand as He lifted her hair, His breath on her neck making her shiver and her nipples harden, she should be scared because He could not be real nobody had followed her.

He never spoke and she leant back into his arms and melted as He kissed her neck, licked her ear lobe and pulled her hair back to kiss her mouth deeply,
His hands wondered and left fire over her skin, ever so soft and in no rush He brought her to life and melted her.

An hour later and she was taken softly to the curtain, kissed with deep passion and turned round, her bottom smacked and a gentle push and she was outside in the light.

Walking in a daze out into the room her body like liquid silk and her mind in a cloud she did not question and floated to the people who never noticed she had left.

A dream, mmm it had to be...

The Shaman

I would like to be a Shaman
To be able to confer with spirits
Invisible in the exercise of intent
Sacred objects painted faces
Are only to impress
They need it not
It is all for show.
To appear in two places
Is the mark of a great Shaman
Like Ariel flitting from place to place
Living on sunlight for the most part
A little smoke now and then
of the venerable weed
Eschewing strong drink,
But loves beer.
