Popeyes

They just opened up yesterday
Popeyes
I went there today and got some sides
Cajun fries, rice, and a biscuit
They opened up 5 Guys in December
They have fries cooked in peanut oil, made to order burgers
And free peanuts
Chipotle has made from scratch guacomole
Chic Fil A has great salads with crunchy peppers
Eating out is something I love to do
With all the great choices out there
You probably do too!

About this poem:
Ate out at a restuarant last night that reminded me of Friedman's that closed up around 2000. They had Bacos for their salad bar, which I had only seen at Friedman's before. They also have the same fish buffet on Friday night. Another thing that was neat, all additional cans of pop are free after the first one.

That shopping bag

You carry that bag Where ever you go
Full to the brim
It took you to carry it contents within
Why you want to burden with this stuff why you want to carry a full load
You shop by day you carry your stuff away
Only to chuck some straight in the bin
Recycle they say don't throw it away
Eat it straight away
Food goes off so you throw it away
Life a burden you shop each day the toil on your back the food you carry away in that sack
You long for a car a bike you go on a bus to carry it in life's a burden but we all ways need that bag to carry are shopping in

Kneading and Stirring

Nothing to do, nowhere to go
Summer has passed, soon it will snow
The honey has settled to an amber glory
In the kitchen I'll prepare a story
for the senses: the smells, the taste
the feel on the tongue
You'll be drawn to the scents
I'm certain you'll come

A soft butter dough for the lightest of biscuits
Onto my board while it is stickiest
A dark, rich rue in the pan with some broth
for this gravy, the recipe has no auth
The tender roast has rested, ready for dissection
I've kneaded and stirred a meal of perfection

For dessert? A sweet treat paired with coffee or wine
An apple-cheese tart with crust flaky and fine
A meal fit for lovers: there'll be moaning and sighing
Kneading and stirring, love-making through dining

Chocolate Covered Bacon

I went skiing at Chestnut in Galena, Illinois
My boot broke when I got done
So I will call it for this year of skiing
Boots are expensive
So I went downtown and wanted spritz cookies
On the way there there are all these shops
One had chocolate treats
In it I found slices of bacon covered in chocolate
One full strip was 3.50
I bought it and ate it on my way to the bakery
I wanted spritz cookies
The guy didn't know what that was
I said I bought some here last year
He still didn't know what I was talking about
So I bought some iced sugar cookies in the shape of candy canes
Then I went to Culver's and got some onion rings, a butter burger deluxe
And a Mountain Dew
Then it's off to Cuba City on the way home
There I got a tub of powdered cheese for popcorn
And a piece of cheese in the shape of a green Christmas tree
Covered in green wax
So ends another year of skiing and snacking
Till I get another boot

About this poem:
I finally got my skiing in. I used to pay by the date when we had snow early. Today would have cost me eight dollars in the past, when skiing started the week of Thanksgiving. The chocolate bacon was pretty good!

Texas Roadhouse

Call ahead if you don't want to wait long
Because the wait can be over an hour
You come in and give the waitress your three digit number
Then she hands you a pager that will light up and vibrate when they are ready
Till then it's eating all the peanuts you want and throwing the shells on the floor
Then the pager goes off or they call your name and they take you to your seat
The waitress gives you buns with cinnamon butter that are real hot
Then you have more peanuts and a metal pail to throw the shells in
You order your meal, mine was steak and shrimp
Then you can watch them dance some country dance
If it's your birthday, you can sit on a saddle while they sing "Happy Birthday".

Taco Bell Rap

i need two supreme tacos and hold the sour cream
it makes me vomit and it's an ugly scene
a chicken quesadilla and taco salad, too
this is how we do up in the drive thru
i need a spicy chicken double decker chilli cheese wrap
large coke, bottle of water, don't forget the cap
i need two soft tacos and an enchurrito
don't be thinking that its all for me though
"yo queiro taco bell" my boy said to me
so i'll get him a chalupa and one for free.
i hope you're getting all this down, you're sitting there without a sound
hot sauce, i need that too, make it three, no make it two
large coke, i need that too,
one for me and for you
just kidding, being nice
(AND DON'T FORGET THE YELLOW RICE!)
yellow rice, he wants that too, is that something you guys do?
if not nachos please, hold the lettuce, add the cheese
one more holla for a dollar
this my crew in this drive thru
one more thing, give it to me cause baby
WE HUNGRY

Bariatrics

Obesity is a Disease?
And how is that so, if you please?

We are what we eat, are we not?
Some eat a little, and some eat a lot.
Some work their buns off, and some won’t do squat.
So put it together, and what have you got?

Or does it fall out of the air,
unknown until now and at once everywhere?

It this thing contagious by touch or by genes?
Or glands out of balance, whatever that means?
Is that why it’s spreading to children and teens?

Now Medicare flatly decrees
Obesity is a Disease.

So taxpayers pay for a magical cure
instead of a thing that would do it for sure,
like rations of food that are miniature,
as if it cost money and people were poor.
The junk-food that isn’t nutritious
is fatty and bariatricious,
no better than paper, the research has found,
expensive as hell by the dollar-per-pound.
So why not eat money? Is that more unsound?

Packing a Picnic Lunch~~~

First you call up your good ole friend,
see if they like to join you for a picnic
maybe in the park underneath a shaded tree....

Then plans are made and time to pack up all
the goods from basket to table-ware and
blanket to food and all that may be needed to
enjoy the picnic...

You may choose to pack a peanut butter -n- jelly
on whole wheat bread-- do not forget to eat your
crust as this added the vitamins’ to the sandwich..

Then maybe you pack a snack bag or two of your
choice of chips, lays plain chips are a good
one to choose other it may be the sour and cream
then the other may want the rippled plain
as long as it is a chip it makes a good thing to pack
for a picnic lunch....

Do not forget to add a choice of a fruit,
they sell them in little tiny cups called
mix fruit cups or just a single one of banana
orange, apple or a pear do not forget
to pack a fruit....

Then last maybe choose a desert and drink of
a snack size cookie, or lunch able fruit pie
or maybe a snack size pudding will work
for the desertand for drink a fruit juice is
a good choice in the picnic lunch...

Grab the items for the picnic and away
we go to scout a place for just
the two of us
to have a picnic lunch....

pinapple turn overs

And are we faling
Or are we sinking
I find we've fallin further than can be retrived

This world's redemption
Has sunk beneath me.
The missing link
Is far beyond me

Far beyond me

Swallow your pride
And open your mind to
Circumstance before you
Revole the door
in your direction

Spin to the way side
Forget your mind matters
