Provide

I hear in the distance
You ask me what
can i do for you
and you mean it too.
All the nurses and
PCT try to make me
feel better every
step of the day.
Trying to make the
person i was before
this procedure.
It makes me feel
all the RN and PCT
really care for
their patient and
mean everything they
do to make you better.
They want you to
know the staff is
there for you.
All you need to do
is ask them for
what you need and
they will try to
fill your order.

UNDERARM AROMA

WHEN I TRAVEL ON THE BUS, IT'S SO STRONG; IT PUTS ME IN A COMA! THERE SHOULD BE, A LIGHT OR SIREN, THAT COMES ON, WHEN SOMEONE ATTEMPTS TO BOARD THE BUS; WITHOUT SHOWERING! THIS WAY; THEY'D GO HOME AND CLEAN UP; AND THAT TO ME, IS QUITE, TOWERING! I SAY; DO UNTO OTHERS; WELL, YOU KNOW THE REST! WHETHER, RICH, OR POOR; YOU HAVE TO STRIVE ,TO BE, AT YOUR BEST! IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD, A WELL KNOWN PRODUCT; WHITE VINEGAR, WILL DO NICELY; WITHOUT BEING, EXOTIC! LET'S ALL GO THROUGH LIFE, SMELLING CLEAN! I SAY THIS; WITH RESPECT TO ALL! NOW; LET'S CONQUER, THE DIRT DEMONS; AND, HAVE A BALL!

PINK RIBBON OF COURAGE

When soldiers fight in a battle and are wounded or killed
They receive a purple heart as proof that they fell
There are several women who have fought a deadly battle
Therefore, they should also receive a pink ribbon medal

Who are these women that have earned the right
To wear the Pink Ribbon of Courage as a symbol of their fight?
They come from here, there and all walks of life
Career woman, neighbor, friend, sister, mother, and wife

This sisterhood supports and envelopes all new members
And for all non-members they want you to remember
Until we rid Breast Cancer in the World forever
This sisterhood will continue to grow despite our endeavors

So remember the next time you see a pink ribbon
You could become part of this sisterhood as Breast Cancer’s next victim
However, take heart as you are not alone
Your sisters are only as far away as your phone

About this poem:
My Mom had breast cancer in 1999 and had a mastectomy and survived for 9 more years and passed away from another diagnosis. Also, recently I have had several friends who have been diagnosed and survived. Unfortunately, one of my classmates did not. Wanted to honor them for their the battle they have been through.

Kleenex Klues

Another box of Kleenex;
another silly poem;
sneezing coming easy;
home alone.

Like an empty liquor bottle
tossed on the side of the road,
no one wants you
when you have a cold.

Like an uneven sidewalk
challenging your every step;
my only friend right now
is a box of Kleenex.

The best feeling comes
when you realize that
you’re perfectly happy
without the people
you thought
you needed most.

Sweet Potato Love - A Recipe'

Embedded image from another site

If you have some lonely sweet potatoes
I have a recipe that is fun and nutritious
· You can garnish with organic tomatoes
Yummy, quick and oh so very delicious

Cooking just makes your heart all aflutter
· Start with coconut oil and a pat of butter
Into the pan it goes, heat it up on medium
· Throw in your onions sliced or diced
Start them browning, no frowning

· Add all those cut up sweet potatoes
Now the spices here’s how that goes
· Shake on the cumin and turmeric
This will start the savory kick
Your kitchen will be atmospheric
· Don’t forget salt and pepper
They just go together, clever!
· Spice it up with fresh thyme
· Garlic added at the end time
Be creative with spices you like
You’re going to love the first bite

Cook until sweet potatoes are tender
Giving up the flavors in hot surrender

· It won’t take too long so sip your wine
Julia would say it helps make it a fun time
· Adding a splash or two of that red juice
Makes a wonderful sauce when reduced

· If you must have some meat
Cook that in a separate pan
Add it in so it looks really neat
· Noodles added would be a plan

Sweet potatoes are so good for you
Hope you try and enjoy it too
Remember, you are what you eat
Au revoir and Bon Appetite!

Scars

Those who suffer the scars you cannot see

No one understands what lies inside

The pain and anguish felt with-in

How can we imagine those tortured scars

They control our minds and our lives as well

No one can heal these injuries we cannot see

Only love, time and understanding can mend the pain

and than and only than will we heal from with-in

Madness

Collective thoughts in my mind,
wondering about this future life,
appreciating the laughter in others I find,
do I really need another wife,

Thinking out loud and saying my piece,
restless at times and feeling so alone,
time ticking along lifes walking feet,
persevering like a dog gnawing a bone,

A meandering mind jumping here and there,
nothing solid to hold the ground,
wondering if anything is really fair,
always listening to that empty sound,

your minds wheels always turning,
even when trying to fall asleep,
synaptic nerves forever churning,
looking for meaning and something deep,

Rational thoughts seem to disappear,
traversing through your own life span,
recollections of all the things you fear,
what to do and if I can,

Eventually the madness settles the mood,
its why someone close can be your friend,
looking for that piece of the puzzle in lifes food,
having that person will help you to mend.

About this poem:
Sometimes when things in life seem to be so over-bearing our minds become a wandering mess of thoughts, we stop eating and reflect on negatives and it takes time to mend, not all can cope with lifes pains and stresses and some drop deeper into the madness of the mind.

The Life I'm Living

There are times when I ask myself
What is this life that I’m living
Each day from one to the next
They all seem to run together

No happiness, no joy, just pain
And none of it was my doing
First a disease, one that is so rare
Just one in ten or so million

Body is wracked with terrible pain
My limbs being slowly twisted
In the end I know I’ll die
But I could still live til ninety

If that’s not enough, things got worse
A car the footpath mounted
Crushed my legs, lost them both
And killed my wife, my lover

But still I live, I don’t know why
I refuse to give up, surrender
So next time you moan how tough it is
Spare a thought for me, the life I’m living

About this poem:
I saw a man the other day who was just a torso on a wheel chair. It got me to thinking ... we are so easily ready to complain as to how hard we have it yet the truth sometimes is actually the opposite ... maybe we need to focus on the positive things in our life ... there are always people that are worse off than we are ... count our blessings

Cold

My nose drips like a leaky faucet
I can't enjoy the things that I eat
My head is fuzzy
My heart is beating too fast
All I want to do is sleep
Where did I get this cold?
Was it from a coworker?
Was it from a public place like the mall?
I wish I would have gotten my flu shot
I wish I could sleep better
My head is hot
I think I'll curl up on the couch and watch tv
The Office, Super Bowl playoff games, and Stepbrothers
I have a cold and it sucks
