At Peace

As i reach into the depths of my soul
To search for reason if not a goal
I am surrounded by peace an traquility
As the beat of my heart slows with me

Each breath i take unties the bind
Leaving but a presence of mind
Focusing on the centre of me
Exhaling the negative to be free

Down down deeper still
Sleep is not far but i have my will
Entranced by the peace i find within
My journey here a welcome thing

I will take my time for hurry there's not
Relinquishing reality that mattered not
Tiptoe down the corridor of fate
Carefully not disturbing my mate

Procuring nothing but an abscence of mind
To enrich the soul for the sake of kind
Staying true to the being inside
While nourishing .........my worthy pride

Weight

You make me laugh
then again you
make me think
that being
overweight is
not a sin.
You look at me
and say your
not as heavy
as you seem
to think you
are no belly
in the way for
y o u.
Just a sense
of humor that
does shield
you from the
pain of not
fitting in
because if you
could you
would count
it a win.

Zen state

I'm looking for something,
Inside my head,
A button or lever,
Before I'm dead,
The switches that control
my blood and breath,
So I can cheat death...

in the shower

standing there with the water
spraying down hot in winter
cooler in the heat of August
just standing there cascading

my mind flowing metaphorically
washing away the tensions that
stick to your body throughout
long days of demands and needs

little globules of tension ringing
the drain circling as nearing
the black hole of plumbing fixtures
vanishing forever, to another dimension

head down, looking past my body
to the rest I so long for, I stand
for a long time, flows of nothingness
washing over me, emptying my mind

I can imagine the water oozing
into the crevices of my brain
seeping through all my thoughts
cleansing my emotions too

little wonder that we arose from
oceans primordial to stand
the land and wander life on toe
yet always return to the washes

the whole world presses it's foot
gently on the pedal and begins to
slow down to thoughts of breathing,
and feeling, and caring, and loving

Asperger Syndrome

I am an AS person
I am like the sun
I write poems and stories
And never make anyone worry
I use to be picked on in the past
But that didn’t last
People think I’m crazy
But I’m not lazy

Beefing Up

Kinda thin and kinda scrawny,
As I'm approaching sixty-one.
But I used to be so brawny,
When I was taut and firm and young.

I'm not hoping for perfection,
And I know that I'm not a kid.
A step in the right direction,
Just to slow up the downhill skid.

So each day I'm exercising,
And I'm eating more healthily.
And it's really not surprising,
The changes I'm seeing in me.

I'm now feeling so much stronger,
And I'm sleeping all through the night.
My workouts are getting longer,
And my spirits have taken flight.

I know I can't be young again,
But I still can have my health,
More quality of life and then,
Know that is the only real wealth.

Suffering

I know this pain won't
last forever,
but then again maybe
it will.
Mind over body
maybe
But as I look out
the sill;
from my bed tears begin
to form.
I must be
stronger,
yet I am more
worn.
The words of fellow
poets
Caress my heart.
Another mountain
to climb
And I know it.
My spine screeches at me
Shut up brain.
but I will not listen
It is insane.
Always push forward
Chin up
Eyes ahead.
You have many more
roads to travel,
HE said.

true story; couple days ago

cruising down a two lane
doing 62 in a 55
just got empty my
18 wheeler
sunny day
not a thing can go wrong
was a little ways away
for the car in front
saw his brake lights
for I knew I couldn't stop
he hit them hard
had not got a choice
looked around what can I do
turned his signal on
and hit them even harder
was on him in a second
no place to go on this two lane
couldn't pass on the left
he would turned into me
had no choice
went to the right
was either him
or me in a ditch
i chose the ditch
maybe I had a chance
not much room
a 5ft shoulder
the car went to the middle
just a little
gave me just enough room
for me to take that shoulder
I avoided him and the ditch
don't ask me how
an angel must been watching
for sure he/she woud been killed
only takes a second
for things to go wrong
even on a beautiful day

About this poem:
highway 33 in wisconsin. I was far enough back I had plenty of time to figure my way out, go through my choices but not enough time to stop. when i took that narrow just a little room to the right i was right next to him at this time he still didn't make his left turn, only until my tractor was even with him on the right. would been right through that car. don't matter how far we are back, don't slam your brakes on give us plenty of notice on these two lane roads. before you hit your brakes or just flash your brake lights once or twice real quick to let us know your about to turn. or something like that.

haiku's

humble master
so ignorant
the echo..

snowy old tree
beseeching
poor beggar..

no more seasons
a silence
empty nest..

Invisible Weight

Memories flash and chime,
the film of reality rewinds,
visions replaying another time,
now questioned, why?

Dwell in hell.
The enternal flame burns bright on the brain,
forever focused forcing emphasis on pain.
Shattered dreams fade,
chipted with baggage and freyed,
-cemented in conrete and layed,
across the brains front page.

When can one move on?
From haunting memories gone.
In time wounds heal -
but not to deal,
with the scars reminding us what is real.
