borderline

Park was the head officer on the border crossing between North and South Korea. He had a problem.

Two weeks ago a woman, let's call her lin, pitched up at the crossing gate with a jute bag of soil attached to the front panniers of her well maintained Honda 50 motorcycle.

The inevitable menagerie of sniffer dogs, hard bitten counter intelligence staff and regular army, checked her story.

Her papers checked out, she had permission to cross.

The soil was.. well.. just that.. soil. No contraband.. no diamonds.. nada.. zip.

Odd? Yes. But illegal? No.

Lin altered her days, but usually twice a week, she made the same journey:

Same bike
Same colour
Same bag of soil
Same papers
Same checkpoint
Same result.

It pissed the men off. Lin was beautiful and smart, and it seemed she had someone on high who was protecting her. The word from Park's superiors was simple:

"Unless you find something illegal, let her pass"

I guess it was tough (the first year) for Park. He was a proud man. A nagging doubt festered in his subconscious..

"What is she up to?"

Then, somewhere north of year three it stopped. No more Lin. No more bags of Earth.

No more reports by Park about the square root of nothing.

Park retired. Life moved on. Except.. not quite.

He tracked her down.
He confronted her.
He explained his retirement.
He wouldn't prosecute.
He just wanted to know.

"What was in the Bag!"

"Soil" said Lin.

"But.. what were you smuggling?" said Park.

Lin took a long look at the frazzled military man... and spoke a single word..

"motorcycles".

a lttke ditty

Mary rose
Wore no clothes
All her friends were trolls and hoes
Common as and common does
Claims to be above us

Puts on airs but Gutter born
Hair as yellow as the corn
Dirty face and dirty mind
Snotty nosed you know the kind

Thinks that she's above the rest
Says that at all she's best
Dr dentist lawer fake
All through life take take take

Narcissistic through and through
Worry not I see you

GOOD BYE SUMMER

Winter is right around the corner
Sunny days are waning into gloom
As the daylight time grows shorter
The flowers start to no longer bloom

September is the beginning of Fall
Shorter days and cool crisp nights
Then the familiar fall bird calls
As they gather for their southern flight

Time to hang out the feeders for those who stay
The hot humid air becomes a cool autumn breeze
As squirrels hide their nuts for a cold winter’s day
Trees start to get their bright coats of colored leaves

Time to say goodby to summer and our visitors
As they leave us for fairer weather
Time to welcome back the faces of winter
Who come with the wind that is so bitter

Blue Jays, Titmice, Morning Doves and Chickadees
Who brighten up the gloomy winter days
Each with their individual personalities
Making one feel more happy and gay

Color red

At countless drops of rain on the window pane,
through wind branching clouds,
refracts the sun shine of his morning smile,
spreading him out in a colorful array.
Wakes me with color red slightly vibrating
in the rhythm of your breaths,
while you still asleep snuggle with me,
warm and at peace with yourself.
I am lieing, breatheless, not to wake you,
stealing from heartless time
a few more beats of happiness.
As soon as you open your eyes,
everything will become blue.
"I have to move on" you whispered last night,
still with love in your sight, and a shadow of sadness.
I know it must be so, I can not stop you.
You came on the wings of the wind,
and fell on me, like on the dust warm summer rain.
Thirsty, I imbibed you like the dust each rain drop,
until you fill my soul, until we became one, you watered me.
And then the wind blew again.
He brought color cold, the color blue,
covered the red in your heart.
That is why this morning, when your eyes open, be blue,
and I will become dust again,
waiting for a warm rain, and a new color red, the wind passed.

TearUp

Loving without Owning

I think of you tonight,
I wanna see you alright
Will you come close to me
I wanna see those eyes free

Let me touch your hair
Let me kiss you right there
In me i know i love you,
And I know you don't know

Things go slow when you're around
And i want you here and bond
Its crazy how much i want you baby
It hurt so deep i cant get away

I'll be here watching
Your smile is everlasting
Enough to know your there
Even if i know we cant be as a pair

Stay Open

I want to stay open
I don’t want to close
I'm taking a long time
Going through all nines
Thinking about you
I can see daylight
After a long night
I want to be free
Something happen to me
I want to feel alright
Dancing with star light
Thinking about you
Keep me in one place
A steady slow pace
Dancing with you
Into the long day
Making all the hay
Just making it do
Want to come home soon
Into you heart’s tune
Singing inside you
Let my love stay now
Making room somehow
All you make feel
Taking my time now
Because I love you

Light of Hope

Many years, lost in thought,
imprisoned by the brain.
Lost my mind, all alone,
almost gone insane.

Through the clouds of dismay,
hope was very near.
The light shone through,
the cause to persevere.

Talking now, back and forth,
throughout the many days.
Lost myself to her voice,
no face to set my gaze.

It wasn't love, no not at all,
but potential it did have.
I set the course to see her now,
hope was all I had.

Two days, one night,
intimacy had prevailed.
Not her's, was only mine,
I won only what I failed.

Too much drink, too much smoke,
meant nothing in the end.
With potential lost, as I descend,
I left you a note.

Goodbye my light of hope.

the trail

she looks at me

dark hair runs down the corridor of her shoulder, still warm from the last shot of whiskey, her words stop me cold:

"You know big fella.. when your belly is full and your lust is emptied, when malt dances in and out of that coastline you call a brain.. you can pull down your awnings.. but it won't change the stock in the store.."

I was married once, but like the frontiers men of old, I failed to find any tracks in the female heart.. a might too wild for settled living, and a might crazy for thinking same, left me a man of casual arrangement with the fairer sex, and that suited both parties just fine.

I'm telling you the water is wet, because that's just the way it is. What you do with such information, I don't rightly care. I'm setting the road for my own horse.

The trail is hard, brutal. It sculpts rigor on you. You learn fast or die. Sometimes, folk learn fast AND die. I never claimed life was fair.. "fair" is a made up word, designed to take the edges off.. just as you need an edge.. to make it past something.

I caught a glimpse once of what God might have seen as I crested a hill.. and watched below a mass of wagon and beast, weave a dark score on the trail.

regular wages, to me.. was a mortgage I could never accept..

you did a job.. you saw it through to the end.. you got a lump sum.. and you moved on..

food tasted better, the colours changed, women wore new smiles.. and memory slept in the last place.

I hobble tie the horse and make a fire..

A coyote fights the moon.. he seems to know a horrible truth that none of us has figured out yet

I think of all the great women I've known.. the ones that furnish my memories..

the kiss from an unexpected beauty that soars over all that offered you everything..

I dream. Not always bad. Sometimes I smile an unconscious smile..

I dream..
that in all this death
in all this darkness
in all this hardship..

there's a flower growing in a place no earthly flower should grow..

and when I get to it, it will smell like her kiss tasted..

PUZZLE PIECE

A lost puzzle piece wandering through life
Going from place to place but never right
To find a picture space where I exactly fit
There have been times I think yes – but find I never did

This puzzle piece would love to be
In a picture where I can be just me
To fit in perfectly and not be forced or glued
A spot originally made – not out of the blue

Where is the picture I’m suppose to be in
Where are the others I’m suppose to be with
Will keep on looking for my special spot the rest of my life
Hoping to find that perfect place way before I die

Is this a life or is this my death

My life dead my wife dead,
How can I find life when everything's dead Inside outside,
Why take my life why do you think I get into strife I am the underword, I'm am immortal, how you say you know me,
I'm not alive you are, I don't know why you believe in life we are all dead, well I have read, so are we alive or we dead? These are the voices the haunt my head, I once was happy, now I want to die, how come no one else was insane, I say this as a gift I'll soon be dead, I have had enough of life it's scrarred my head, I want you to know and learn I'm not doing it to hurt I have learnt death is better then life, I have been there many of times, one day we will see and I'll come back and tell thee, what life use to be, a matrix of lies
