streets (for Liam Reilly)

I was níneteen years old
when I set foot
in Brooklyn
with a head full of money
and a heart full of dreams

irish as green
broadshouldered and happy
I had two million thoughts
and two million schemes

"Take your time" said my Da
your game but your restless
not everyone out there
thinks like you do

for some
they would shoot you
for the brogues on your feet
or the claddagh you got
from your mother

so take it easy and lightly
and think like your happy
and the world is your own
and the good things are free

at the time uncle Finbarr
was a cop in new Jersey
my father.. much younger
looked after his Ma

when an email from America
said "send the lad over"
and my da looked at me
and the both of us smiled

for i spent my life working
the nightclubs of Dublin
for a few college women
and a few pints of gold

"so maybe you can learn
the true cost of living
see some of life
and maybe help me"

so I landed in Kennedy
with my big Irish head
holding a smile
and humming a tune

when my breath it was taken
by a big yellow taxi
and a stunning young woman
whose eyes were like June

Gligeen

Mandroid.

A factory full of odds and ends, assembled and arranged in lines by non-mechanical beings.
Punchdrunk time cards chart their lives through typical weeks with typical tasks.
Printing the barcodes, scanning the barcoded things.
Plotting points on a graph, crunching numbers - like a cog in a machine.

The road travelled.

I call danger, and you hear wolf.
Both our fates lie in your dismissive hand.
Your steps are mine, we will share the dark.
And you, like me - will lament in silence.

I call danger, and you hear danger.
Both our fates lie in your heed of cry.
Your steps are mine, we will shed the dark.
Then you and me will sing in chorus.

I..
once had a girl
or should I say
I once had three

blonde, brunette
and red
one crazy night
took me to bed

they told me
they worked
in the city
and started to laugh

I told them
that I was
quite willing
but had torn a calf

I..
bided my time
drinking their beer
then they drank mine

and when
I did awoke..
I ran out the door
back to the shore

Spring Mix

Worn habits to break
Elevate through sweats and ache
Spring arrived to awake

A drop of sunshine
Is brewing in bubbling brine
Dandelion wine

A school of sardines
Swam in sync into a tin
Sardines of my dreams

Dressed in White..

Silently fall soft snowy bride,
Beneath cold waning moon,
Adorn our naked countryside,
Like white confetti strewn.

Tonight to meet her beau Jack Frost,
She'll wear his sparkling gems,
Lace glinting dress and veil embossed,
With diamond studded hems.

So many joys can Winter bring,
In frozen mystery,
To celebrate our new born King,
Bright star of history.

Young children dance 'neath snow clad roofs,
They sence how Santa's near,
While soon to trace fresh track of hooves,
From his red-nosed reindeer.

I long to see white postcard sights,
Amid sub-zero wind,
Then under lonely Christmas lights,
Pray for lost souls that sinned.

I am not a poet

I am not a poet
I want to write a poem
Poem is to recall the memory
The love affection and the time
To appreciate my love in words
I recall my love again
A Smiling face a Loving face
The face I cannot forget
The love I cannot forget
The days I cannot forget
All that is in my mind and heart
Which I cannot forget to recall
Them again and again that's my love
I never forget still in my mind and heart
It is like picture in front of my eyes
I carry the memories in my heart
Its flow in my blood and still in my mind
I never forget that love which gave me life and time still remember my love of life
Will be forever with me in my mind thoughts and heart
I am not a poet
I want to write a poem

Our search for love in dating sites Part 2!

YOU MIGHT WANT TO READ PART 1 FIRST
(Complicated minds)
What has happened to that simplicity of life?
In war with love, in dissension heart & mind.
It is really so and the reason we are all here,
For ages to come, till we drop dead my dear.

(How I sense things)
I've killed hope on my first day here long ago,
Embracing reality on the first real cruel blow.
How can one find love in this superficial world,
When most here only in material & ego can mold?

(What men & women searching next 4 stanzas)
Some men looking for the thrill of a cheap sex,
And most others, for love with all its effects.
Women set their sexuality on a forgotten shelf,
Here for ego-boosting and what soon will regret.
For love is not in their search but who lies best!

Women want a man to run up the hills and down-streams,
Childhood fantasy and ferry tails world full of dreams.
Most set on their ways mending/healing a broken heart,
For this woman’s fantasy took many relationships apart!

Some men wounded from divorce and all of the fees,
The reason are standing emotionless like oak trees.
And so, relationships become friends with benefits,
Type of relationships that do fill hearts with deceits.

If love was truly our search...
We could find it in the first profile we clicked.
In our mind there's insecurity pride and ego to fulfill,
Sure the mind steering the heart with all its whims...
Thus love is measured with superficiality not heartbeats,
And we become illusionist magicians clowns ventriloquists!
We go from one to another, to another like a bad curse,
Because love been dead for sometime and is in a hearse.

(Trust)
Trust is yet another issue for majority of people,
Often it is our experience that leaves us crippled.
What will it take to build the foundation of trust,
When memory, experience lives within at long last?
Give your full trust before you know his/her name,
Forget and forgive, live and do share the blame.

(The true reality)
Most cannot even sense the reason of being here,
For those faint heartbeats some can hardly hear.
We often hear half syllables as love you darling,
The (I) is missing because we express a snarling.

(My search)
It must be a woman who is interested in the heart,
And she'll have no problem getting in my beat-up car.
Whose ego, pride is lower than my statue of 5’10’’
Who’s not looking for a rooster laying a golden egg.

I know, it has to be one woman but, where is she?
Till the two of us cross the blessed path in this sea,
We’ll be two ripped branches from the same tree.
Branches dipped in love for sure will grow roots,
And in time we will blossom to bear sweet fruits.

SOME OF YOU CAN TRULY HAVE AN ANGEL SIN AND GIVE THE DEVIL AN ACE CARD TO WIN!!!
