Before the sun forgets its way

Before you get your winter stuff out
And become
A layered cabbage of clothes
To keep you warm

Before the wind blows colors away
And the rain drizzles endlessly
From the heavy hats of grey clouds

Before the dark forces get to rule
And the sun
Forgets its way to our land
There is a spark of brightness

The red and orange umbrellas
Pop up on the trees
The cool air
Mixed with the smells of decay
The mist over the pond...

The last dance
And the crunch of leaves
Moaning under your feet
When you walk away alone

Break-up

The words flew away
And silence invaded space
Between you and me.

House feels empty
What we shared burned out
Without fire

A wave ride

Hold on there
Do not let the dark wave
Overpower you
Give in without giving up
Take a ride with it
Let it carry you
Away from the sea of troubles
Under the rain of streaming light
Shout out your pain
Dig it deep into the ground
And the flower will grow
Splash it on canvas
And mix with colors
Pour it on paper
It may turn into a poem

A little bird

Caged in the house
Like a lonely princess
In the grim castle
I strain my ears to hear
“Knock, knock!”
Is he there yet?

Spring is going wild outside
Buzzing and blooming
A little bird
Keeps coming back
To knock on my window
And chirp

I do not know his language
But it sounds like
“Get out, stupid!”

DREAMING

I HAD A DREAM LAST NIGHT; I DREAMPT, I HELD YOU TIGHT; AND AS THE YEARS GO BY; I THINK OF YOUR FACE AND I CRY!

DREAMING; DREAMING;
EACH NIGHT I DREAM OF YOU; WISHING; WISHING; THAT MY DREAMS ONEDAY WILL COME TRUE!

I FOUND A LETTER YOU WROTE TO ME; WHEN WE WERE YOUNG AND SO FREE; I KNOW I"LL NEVER FIND LOVE AGAIN; CAUSE I COULDN"T STAND TO BE FRIENDS!

DREAMING; DREAMING;
EACH NIGHT I DREAM OF YOU; WISHING; WISHING; THAT MY DREAMS ONEDAY WILL COME TRUE!

Haiku Duet.

the falling moonlight
shattered in golden fragments
on the dazzling sea

~~~~~
the blazing sunset
danced on the ocean like flames
and scorched the skyline
Temporary Release.
Staunch message to all, delivered with stealth,
A wise old proverb..."Your health is your wealth",
Terrified at the start, thought I wouldn't pull through,
Began penning a verse, for my pulpit adieu,
Bruised and depleted from chemo injections,
A pale hairless body fuelled naked reflections,
Such penetrating fear in my children's eyes,
As I hid the truth, in my happy disguise,
Strangely I decided for me I'd not weep,
Instead to find courage, my spade to dig deep,
Never to lose hope or Never to give in,
No more thoughts of ending, only begin,
Not 'till all glimmers of life have long ceased,
And my rancid remains lie a cold crawling feast,
Even then my spirit will survive in a poem,
My soul still intact through the verses will roam,
You'll never hear me whinge or show any regret,
Nor will I celebrate, if reprieve I beget,
Defiant yet resinged in ankle chains to be...
Always cancer's prisoner, ....but today I walked free !
About this poem:
Recently I had a worrying health scare
but thank God all tests and scans were clear.
I wrote this little poem in the hospital car park.
I need to say......
It was Cancer that made me write so without it
I wouldn't be part of this lovely family-like corner.
Thanks for all your reads and comments.
Special thanks to "C" for kind support ,
and "L" for prayers.
Onwards and upwards..........Mick.
marianne
drank whisky
from a bellybutton
after hours in a bar
heard the sound
of my breathing
through the lungs
of your guitar
heard a seagull
sing the blues
from the deck
of a fishing boat
heard Mississippi
for the first time
thought that is all she wrote
heard tampa sing
"it hurts me too"
on a road to NYC
heard a lover say "I do" in church
then spent the night with me
and lightnings
just a broken string
on horizon's air guitar
cloudy lyrics
fall as rain
through the windscreen
of my car
there's always a new town
a new girl and you
you're trying hard
to unpick life
tangled up in blue
Wild flowers
What a beautiful spring day,
I just had to go out and play I stumbled upon a field of wild flowers.
Flowers bring much delight to me.No two flowers are alike
So many scents coming my way, they tickle and make my nose twitch all day
What a beautiful day I could stand in this field forever and a day
Their colors so brite I wonder if you can see them at night ?
The different shades of pink,purple and blue make me feel new
By the end of the day I wound up with a beautiful bouquet !
Those beautiful flowers made my day!
