Comfortable Slippers.

True love
Can be likened to a comfortable pair of slippers
They go together
But don't quite fit
Having room to grow

They may show signs of wear over time
But are too comfortable
And familiar to throw away

Best kept in pairs.

WOMAN

Woman, rise up and assert your power
For generations you have been suppressed
Let the world know this is your hour
There are certain issues to be addressed

In dealing with areas of dispute
You tend to be much more tolerant
Making you more likely to find the truth
And well suited for management

You have shown in the field of education
Regardless of the area of learning
You can hold your own against men
Yet workplace equality is lacking

Woman, rise up and assert your power
For generations you have been suppressed

Zoopons

Alligator floats, stalking the pond
Bears ignore spectators, they don't even respond
Cougar rubs its face and body, on the side of its cage
Dolphins bring in the crowds, see they're all the rage
Eagles sit proudly, up high in their nest
Foxes yard play, attention arrests
Gibbons swing in tree's, with their whooping sounds
Howler monkeys are chased, from the trees to the ground
Indian Elephants admired, by fans of Ganapati
Jellyfish haunt their tanks, some plain others spotty
Koala's bring "awe", to kids that look on
Lion male wakes from sleep, with a stretch and a yawn
Macaw's of bright colors - red, blue, and green
Newts hide in foliage, trying not to be seen
Otter is acrobatic, playing in the water
Penguins won't come out, summer heat's gotten hotter
Quail peck through their yard, looking for food
Rhino turns his butt to the crowds - oh my goodness, how rude!
Snakes have turned milky, as they shed their skin
Tapir's start to mate - "uh, let's view the next pen"
Uguisu was pretty, 'til it pooped on my back
Vampire bats scare the kids, let's just skip that
Wolves howling inspires some onlookers to howl along
Xantus are so beautiful, I loved hearing their song
Yabby looks delicious - "imagine that on my plate"
Zoo visits are fun, when coupons give discounted rate

Elmo’s AWOLNATION Sail Parody

TALE !
This how Elmo spends his day.
I love to squish my Playdoh clay.
Blame on Elmo’s A,B,C’s babeh.

My father spends his time on stocks.
But Elmo loves to play with blocks.
Blame on Elmo’s A,B,C’s babeh.

About this poem:
Sometimes when I hear certain songs, jokes pop up in my mind making fun of it.

This is the only parody I have copyrighted. I really need to get out a few of the
other ones that I wrote. I love writing parodies.

Strawberry Moon Born In June

I will burn down to the edge of the highway

A fire barely contains the rituals of late spring

Leaving everything behind in my blackened path

Waiting for at last the light and seeds to grow

Hardest part of life is leaving everything aside

Sometimes you have to lose something

Have to realize what you had to leave behind

Never burning anything outside your own boundaries

You always remember being left with the same taste

On the tip of your very own tongue and in your eyes

On your clothes as well as ……on your face

The sun becomes a tangerine smear against the horizon

And then there is a strawberry moon born in June

A night time of evolution

A night time of evolution a high time for revolution a determined mutation of time,
indifferent to crime,
Turning to lawless moments of life,
expanding consciousness stretching out but returning to be exact,
acting out of spiritual conquest,
burying past events that may not have happened,
creating now as if it mattered,
timeless to be internal dialogue,
are we all insane?.
Or is this just how it is,
positioning to overtake the crown, rising to high, falling to low. Absolutes not guaranteed a curse or something to feed an order or structure unlike no other, wielding an axe or brandishing a cross. To come falling down and down like an endless domino game will we ever became to become as one <3

Winter Evening

Cold,silent dusk
Gold tints west,
Birds fly to rest.

Steaming broth
Warms the insides
Cosy evening fire burns.

Nostalgia takes over,
Sweet & bitter plays
The scenes on blank wall

Wintry days,silence reigns
Brings to mind
Sweetness or sadness.

About this poem:
Just sweet & sad thoughts of home fill my mind as I sit alone looking out of the window, watching the few sparrows braving the cold ( past their bed time ) to eat the crumbs.

War Haiku - another take

Quiet in trenches
Orders followed, carnage left
Shadows of the dead

In sunflower field
An abandoned violin
Refugees fleeing

Born for the combat
Blasts of gun fire, fierce ambush
Tin soldiers at war

Céad Míle Fáilte ! (Sonnet)

( A hundred thousand welcomes.)

A calling to our land of em'rald green,
I offer from the shores my open hand,
Sweet lady of fine verse I rate you Queen,
From forlorn eyes my tears doth stain the sand.

Oh! Come and bless our castles with your grace,
A love so strong as stoney fortress wall,
I long to see the wonder on your face,
As deeper in thine eyes my heart will fall.

And we could dance a céilí in the eve',
Our feet to float like shamrock on the pond,
I from your English kiss ne'er seek reprieve,
To fall in Gaelic love we would abscond.

At rainbows end a gift, as folklore told,
In Irish arms at last, my crock of gold !

About this poem:
An Irish invitation to an English lady.

I know from your posts dear that you
yearn to get away for a while....
So just for the craic come over to visit
your auld poet buddy and I'll help you
trace your Irish ancestry.
Don't mind the poem dear, that's just
the type of romantic Irish clown I can be.
You'd be very safe with Mick.

Haiku challenge

Trying on a mask
A familiar stranger
Stares back at me

A squeaking sound
My shoes travel where they want
Get to follow them

Eruption in space
Into a new dimension
The wave of love spreads
