No Place For The Holidays

There's no place for the holidays
It got taken away by meth
There's no place for the holidays
And the holidays will never be the same
Back in 2018 we had our last
But the last two went right into the can
We had a home but only five showed up
And we had the same again last year
There is no place for the holidays
In 2021 we're on our own
There is no place for the holidays
And it looks like the next time I see these people will be at the next funeral

About this poem:
My mom went in a nursing home, so my favorite three holidays will have no family in them, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, because her house got sold this summer. This is a parody of There's No Place Like Home For The Holidays.

I Took A Chance

I saw the cliff and dangle on it's edge,
My heart pounded as I stood on the ledge.
I knew not what laid in the depth below,
In order to find out I had to let go.
Desperately I hanged on for all I was worth.
I gave every excuse known on this earth.
Letting go was just not the option I wanted.
Still the beauty below continously taunted.

He whispered promises I longed to hear.
He talked me through every excuse or fear.
He promised I had nothing to fear in falling.
To my soul his sweet voice kept calling.
"I got you baby! I will always have you."
"Trust this baby. Please believe in love true."
I listened, made more excuses and then I closed my eyes.
Then I jumped hoping it is not all lies.

For the first time I took a wild chance.
I will rock no more but freely dance.
As I fall into the mystery of this experience, quite new...
I hope it is truly an adventure for two.
I have a vision of two hearts forever entwined.
And pray that our stars are forever aligned.

I took a chance and let go...
I let go for you just so you know..

Fly solo

?????!????!

Above poem is in Chinese and below is translation.

In fact, each of us inevitably has to fly solo!
I also flew solo for seven years before I met him!
You always have to pass the wrong person before you can meet the right person!
right!
Seeing the birds on the coast, they all fly by themselves!
Occasionally I saw Shuangfei, but quickly each flew!
Reunion and parting, parting and reunion!
Goodbye or parting easy?
Godmother and godfather are together for thirty-five years!
After the pearl marriage and all the ups and downs!
This solo flight! Five flavors mixed!
Godfather finally got out of his painful body
Godmother also left more than a hundred days of torture,
Only blessings!
When the godmother flew solo, with all the memories!
Flying in that blue sky! Smiling!

About this poem:
We went fishing after my Godpa passed away this September. I went fishing with my Godmother as that was the way she wanted to remember him. They love fishing. I saw a bird fly in the sky so I wrote about it.

Sound

I'm searching for the sound
That keeps me bound
To find the key
To set me free-
As the bird flies
With fractured wings
Flying low
High, listen
The sound
Can't that bird sing?

As we all aim for the last fall
What do we recall-- This sound?

A choice of words
The sound of what we often heard
The key is near
And, as of what do we fear?-
The bird on the ground
The bird knows why
As it looks up towards the skies-
Lying down- on the mound
The sound
Can a bird cry?

As we all take our last stall
What should we call-- This sound?

I've found the sound
That kept me bound
I've found the key, finally
That sets me free-
Above the bird flies high
With fractured wings-
Listen, low
The sound
Can't that bird sing!?

As we all ascend to feel tall
Remember what we call- This sound

About this poem:
The song pertains to a little bit in everyone. The past, present, and future tense of what we had, what we lost, and regaining the strength to live on; but, also, to remind ourselves to never give up the thought of possibilities. I wrote this one 8-26-2021

LAST FOR LIFE

Today it's unlikely but relationships can "Last for Life"
must adhere to vows for lifetime as husband and wife
Some essential ingredients from which you can't deviate
honor recipe or both will slowly but surely lose their mate

I'd argue the most significant are honesty and trust
lack of either assures partnership will be a bust
Another is both must equally embrace compromise
if one does and other doesn't guess who will agonize

Respect a component indispensable in making it last
without it 'together forever' becomes part of the past
"Til Death Do Us Part" feasible if boths true desire
50/50 because one-sided relationships ultimately expire

ACTIONS speak louder than words so SHOW you care
idle communication says life partners is no longer there
Relentless temptation is reason love's been buried
people shall never give up on concept of married

Thanks Giving/Giving Thanks

The meaning of T’day has transcended
from its beginning: our sharing together
with indigenous people who innocently gave
in times of sickness and chilling weather.

From those days when we readily took
from them all of which they shared
while ’round the table of community we
partook of the meal that was prepared.

To their trusting welcome, we replied
with greed and want of possession
so much so that by force we took much
of their lands with egregious aggression.

Throughout the years this did continue,
this giving then taking back more,
until with little reservation they live
with minuscule resources left in store.

Dispersed amidst the clatter of our laws
with pride, strength, resilience, determination
First People have sought legal ways to
reclaim some of what was once their nation.

On this day, may we celebrate Thanksgiving,
by learning to judge our wealth by care—
not by what and how much we own—and
take steps toward a world we all can share.

Christmas

She loves christmas, why?, her beauty is enveloped in the childness and wonderfulness
of it all, the sound of christmas songs, the lights that light the sky, the smell of christmas cooking, and the happiness in their eye, the feeling deep inside, of wondermant she cant hide and all it come to be, is the child she wants to be! xx

Love

Emerald eyes
had to stare
smile ear to ear

Tall and lean
sexy in jeans
silent screams

Lips shinny and moist
sexy voice
filled with lust
bodies encrust

that’s the night I fell in love

nothing

I listen to the loneliness of those that reside here, to hell with the world and all its fear, dont spend your time in contemplation, of what it could have been, you are all it was and all you could have been, tomorrow is not the beginning or all that you could have seen,, if it ends right here,, if it ends today, its what come what may, its not what you did and its not what you say! Over and out? or not?
