To Martha

Martha, my dear, please be kind, lend your ear,
You are staying alone, looking hopeless and torn,
And like pebble on shore to and fro you are borne,
Knowing not love is knocking on door.

Martha, my dear, take my word, don't you fear,
Your life is at dawn, broad new day is at morn,
Cast aside doubts and all, it is now your turn,
Don't you know love is knocking on door?!

Martha, my dear, how I wish you were near,
Just believe in my word, have no doubts in its worth,
Never think it’s a hoax, for I mean every word
When I say, love has knocked on your door.

About this poem:
To tell the truth, I don't know who this Martha is, just a beautiful name of a beautiful woman. This poem is actually dedicated to men, cause they should be pouring their attention on women, not the other way round, rekindling their spirit with new hopes, but they are somehow slow in doing it. But I guess I am not authorized to speak for men so I will speak no more.

Your Altar

Broken glass broken hands

Red streams from every cut

A plunging sinking of quick sands

The suffocating pain penetrates

In every hole of my being it infiltrates

It pours a never ending rain

On open agonising wounds they stain

The storms rise and consume my domain

In this battle, no exits remain

My legs fall, weary and drained

But in Your healing Altar’s fountain

I enter the Holy of Holies

In Your presence Lord Jesus I come

Your Light shines from the Altar a welcome

Enveloped by Your Love and Peace I gain

The strength to breath life once again

Storm GB

Batterd and bruised
Wind and rain
Rivers flow deep
Rivers flow high
Enters towns and
Villagers you don't care
Batterd you blow
Your torment no bound
From oceans deep
Your cyclones rage
We call you names
Ciara Dennis the menace
Too name a few
More storms ahead
Before the skies become blue
Before the rains do go
The winds to die
The sun to show to feel the
Sun rays once more
We pray for winters end
We pray for sun to show

NOT THE PERFECT WOMAN

Here we are again on the date site
Maybe we will find our mate tonight
Excitement and anticipation building
We flip through profiles and find it discouraging

You want the woman who is the perfect weight
She has to be perfect to be your mate
Love to travel, camp, snuggle and sexy kisser
And oh she has to be a great fisher

It’s enough to make a girl feel discouraged and a failure
To go on looking everyday takes more and more courage
All she wants is for someone to love her as she is
Not a super model with lipstick that can’t be kissed

So be careful guys for what you ask for
Less maybe best instead of more and more
Yes the chemistry must be there
But we are not all blondes and perfect – so be fair

Do you want someone whose hair cannot be messed
Or someone who loves you and thinks you’re the best
Someone who ends up a nightmare instead of a dream
Or a best friend who could help and play on your team

Another night and again we girls look with hope in our heart
That the one guy right for us will see how wonderful we are
That he will look for the true person behind the face
Not just all sugar, spice and lace

About this poem:
2/18/2020: Beware! There is a troll loose in the the CS poetry section.

Reading all the guys profiles, it seems like that they all want a wonder woman who likes to do all the things they like to do (guy things)and she needs to look like a supermodel to boot.

Oh well - I must admit we women too fantasize on our perfect man - but if the chemistry is there - I believe the chemistry is what makes the person perfect in OUR eyes. However, people can be false and leer you in with that chemistry and you don't realize it until it's too late.

You were my Dream ... ???

You were my Dream ???
You promised me much!
To get my attention
I gave you my all
My genuine authentic self
Where r u now?
R u for Real?
You say many endearing good things
But ... ??!
We had a long conversation Friday & Saturday night
A small 5 minute one Sunday night
For two days I maybe had 5 minutes of your time?
Reba McIntires song
Something like
Tell me why haven't I heard from You?
It's called the telephone
Use to be one on every corner
It was invented in like 1854?
I am attentive to you
R you for real
Only heaven knows
Rachael
Had high hopes for you
There r always red flags
Flags flags waving beware
Waving beware again ...
It doesn't sound right
I have good reason to be Leary ...
This is not my first rodeo?
A lot of men questionable behavior
Dear Lord is it asking so much
For one honest man?
With decent attributes
I think it is a normal
Reasonable request

This Thing We Call Life

This thing we call life
A race to the finish
I don’t want to be first
I don’t want to diminish
This thing we call life
Staring you in the face
An image of yourself
Captured in place
This thing we call life
Every breath of fresh air
Every moment we pause
Reflect on what's there
This thing we call life
Every moment we share
A moment for a smile
Show how much we care
This thing we call life
What really comes next
A warm summer breeze
Or storm that’s complex
This thing we call life
Is up for discussion
I hold the door open
For the world to rush in

About this poem:
Sometimes poetry can become such an invitation for reflection such as this abstract form of poetry answering a question or perhaps asking a few more?

COMFORT ZONES.

What does one want from life
Mixed messages, stir up strife
Focus, with answers sincere
To see the way forward...clear

Knowing ourselves, usually helps
Did it happened before- how it felt
Learn from the past, showing the way
As life repeats, be prepared for that day

Self judgement, or council a trusted friend
We make our own decisions, how it may end
Accept, we can make or break the direction
travelled-ready, a mixed message reaction

Step out our comfort zone, that's called living
Stay safe and secluded, then life's not giving
We gain strength, from horizons stretched
Be brave in maturity, as in youth it was met...

Loving Childrens Challenges

Loving Childrens Challenges
To be continued:

Permission slip for sports
It's only $200 per kid or more
For 4 kids: (three step kids 1 son)
So what if you r sometimes a single parent men have addictions

My shoes got stuck in quick sand
Mom u were there!
At ship creek for trout salmon run
They're long gone 5' down
U saw me clear up to my hip
Dad dug me out
Adam too my step son

Private school money
Using your car
So what
I'm your kid!

2 pair of shoes only $180 each
Lucky to not have a funeral for
Two 12 & 14 year old boys

Loving library memories
precious experience
several mothers for
childrens story hour
@ public library
endearing story
Is what I heard
A mother told a story for
10-15 minutes. I embellished w my Personal info.

A
Mother
After a long loving
Day with her children
Of meals
bath time
Quality
Loving interaction
Put her children to bed
6:30 - 7:00 p m
On the 2nd floor
She went down to spend
Quality time
with her husband
Within minutes she heard...
Mom ...
Yes,
"I need u!"
They said,
She climbed
up the stairs and one said
1 Can I please have my blankie
Just one more night pls?
I promise I'll stop sucking my finger & hiding it under the blanket soon But not today
I'll throw my blanket in the trash tomorrow
2nd trip up the steps etc.
2 can I have a drink of water!
3 can the dog sleep w me
4 I got to go pee
5 dad can I have a hug
6 can I pet the cat
7 can't sleep
8 Can I have a snack I'm hungry
Apple banana cookie crackers
Brownie crumbs Slice of cheese juice Pie Cake Ice cream
Just a stick of gum?
A life saver
No u already brushed your teeth
Do u want cavities?
I gotta go again
Then she again hears
Mom ...
can I have a kiss goodnight?
Baby needs diaper change
She goes up the steps
To their bedroom & says,
"It's Dads time
to have my time
If u don't stop
I'm going to give
U a spanking
pls stop"
10 minutes later
The parents
r on lovey dovey mode
Mom... pls I need u
She goes up the steps tired
She says,
"I'm going to give u a spanking
If you don't quit calling me!
It's dads turn now
You've had my time all day!"
"But mom
all I wanted to say
Was
I love you mom!
I want you
Need you
Thanks for being my mom
Thanks for loving me
Good meals
Good play time
Great outings
Good cookies
Yummy dinner
Great breakfast
Yummy lunches
Great fruit
Thanx mom
It was a great Christmas!"

Tears came to her eyes for
Threatening him with a spanking
For he only was guilty
Of wanting to be near her
his mom
So natural to a child
The End

excuses kids have that you can do for story time another day:
Oh I forgot I need u to sign a permission Slip
I need 30 cupcakes for school
(15 w pink frosting 15 w blue)
And 30 brownies that's all
Just a total of 60
It will only take 10 minutes
For tomorrow
Uh oh I didn't finish my homework
I'm sick w a fever
I need a note for being sick
To go back to school
I need milk money
Lunch money
Can u read me a story?
No that's not how the story goes
Again Again!
Can I Skype dad I miss him?
Can we pray? sing?
We didn't get down on our knees
And fold our hands in prayer
That's the important part mom
Mom please sing me my favorite hymn from church
That one that goes
Father Mother God
Loving me
Guard me when I sleep
Guide my little feet
Up to thee...
Then a higher octave etc.
Need Show and tell to bring
For school tomorrow
My math or spelling is not done
You didn't test my spelling
nor check my math
I need to do multiplication
Flash cards again
I need to get on the computer
My report is due tomorrow
Why didn't U tell me 6 weeks ago?
You can't do it in one night!
My painting is still wet
How do I get it dry for tomorrow?
It's due its 1/3 of my semester grade?
The dog ate chewed up my homework
I need a ride to the baseball diamond after school
Band Orchestra practice
Choir volley ball cheer leading sports
Needs edit

Darling, Right back at "cha"

Spontaneous fruitage
shared by
Two
Joyvial
Banter playful pleasing teasing
Gestures communication
Very kind Endearing words
Back and forth
Kinda appreciation
Like tennis
Keep hitting the ball back to me
Right back at "cha"
Darling
Directly to you only
Your eyes focused on no other but a union of hearts desires
Kinda love
Pleasing teasing playful
Natural kinda love
No stress
Just
Finesse
Class
Better than all the rest
A higher caliber of
Love
Elevated to the heavens
Harmonious
Cleansing the soul
To peace
Divine
Sublime
You're Mine Valentine
Mmmm ...
