2017 Review

I went to my first Chuck E Cheese
I went to my first two Milwaukee Brewers games
I got my first dental implants
I got my first mp3 player in my car
Donald Trump became our president
North Korea shot off some rockets
Many s*xual assault allegations on celebs
Many shot and killed in Las Vegas
Opioids epidemic takes many lives
Hurricanes hit Texas and Puerto Rico
Solar eclipse across the US
Charlottesville violence
NFL players taking a knee
We lost Mary Tyler Moore, Chuck Berry, Don Rickles
Roger Moore, Adam West, George A. Romero, Glenn Campbell
Jerry Lewis, Hugh Hefner, Tom Petty, Fats Domino
And David Cassidy

Gone Away.

How can one say that something has gone away?
I think of you, you have it all
But in a way pay for it with all those lonely nights!
Just waiting for his shine
It comes not so often these days
And you can lay awake all night just wondering
You have your treasure that's been gifted to you
But there's still a need that's craving inside that longs to be met
You can kid yourself you have it all.

JUST SAYING IV

Importance of all lives should be the same
it never becoming reality is a shame
Integrity in every sport long ago died
denying it suggest you just lied

The mentally distraught are unjustly deemed crazy
procrastinate a euphemism for 'too damn lazy'
The facts expressed are hardly ever that
what's lost is always wear it was last at

Politicians could care less about society
self-serving is their ONLY priority
The United States is foreigners dream place
humans have fallen short of a humane race

Media is a sinister conduit inducing unhealthy stress
political correctness birthed an irreparable mess

DREAM WISH LIST

Americas' West is inundated with landscape I've long wanted to see
I would definitely like to visit but making it home could never be
Viewing The Northern Lights in Alaska is another vacation dream
witnessing the phenomenon is most likely to induce a joyous scream

Watching animals in their natural habitat of The Serengeti defines intense
being surrounded by killer predators pushes adrenaline rush to immense
I'd become overwhelmed during my soaking in of Ancient Roman Land
totally paralyzed by awe as I absorb the magnificent history firsthand

Those resplendent Islands of Hawaii are indubitably a desirable place
on that paradise in the Pacific I badly want my own personal space
Two other must see destinations are Australia and The Paris France
Switzerland, South Africa and Ireland too if ever I had the chance

A venture to Costa Rica and Venice are among my Dream Wish List
If I had ONE wish I'd choose going where that alleged heaven exist
To be perfectly honest most aren't even feasible considering I hate to fly
my Philosophy is 'no airplanes negates crashing down being how you die'

The Human Experience

There is no greater story that has existed in history than that of our species.
We have always been an inquisitive series of creatures,
Ever since our ancestors took their first steps out of the primordial lakes
And observed the beautiful world around them.
They were primitive, yet had a yearning for knowledge through exploration and experimentation.
As our species has advanced throughout the last 200,000 years,
We have made fascinating discoveries about ourselves, the world around us, and beyond,
Yet our ancestors’ primitive and infantile behaviors have continued to remain in existence,
Even after all of these years of evolution.

It is surprising how our species has always been riddled with contradictions and irony.
We have an understanding of how to care for one another,
Yet some of us have been abused through egotistical desires and manipulation.
We want to share this beautiful planet and it’s bountifuls,
While some of us horde it for ourselves.
We want to live in peace and co-existence,
Yet some of us attack one another over frivolous quarrels,
Which results in verbal disputes or bloodshed.
We have created several inventions and concepts during our time on this planet,
Yet we have designed them to purposely help or hurt one another.

These contradictions often come from the worst of human errors, such as money and power,
two of which have vastly poisoned the minds of both the controllers and the controlled.
The belief that money is somehow legitimate is only a mere superstition, which has been enforced by the historical tyrants who claim they rightfully own this world.
This superstition is why many people impulsively ignore the injustices happening right in front of them,
and shows that money itself is a false reward compared to a love of this planet and it’s inhabitants.
Believing one has a supposed devine power over others is detrimental,
And shows how foolish and egotistical they can become.
A prime example of this is getting other people to do their bidding.
A religious parent isn’t proud their child made their first communion,
Instead the parent only concerned about getting a positive review from those in their congregation.
If a student doesn’t do as their told,
Their teacher believes they can rightfully-so restrict them of their human rights and freedoms.
If a person refuses to participate legalized theft (commonly called taxes),
The politicians and their enforcers believe they can legally kidnap and cage that person.
Despite these two human errors,
We are continuously pushing to become a race of free, open-minded individuals,
Instead of shackled slaves.

Our ancestors were shackle-less when they began their lives,
Yet some of us insanely believing we need to be shackled
Has led to the most inhumane injustices waged upon us.
Due to our natural sense of intuition,
We universally agree that those actions have always been wrong,
But we have sadly become so accustomed to them,
We have become lost and unaware of a way out,
Even when carrying a torch through the dark canals of our situations.

Becoming a race of natural, and intelligence-embracing, human beings isn’t impossible,
It simply requires learning from the mountain of mistakes we’ve made in the past,
And continuing to persist forward.
However, nothing is as clearly evident as our immaturity and ignorance causing nothing but backfire.
We have good faith that our descendants will live in the world we dreamed of,
Yet it is important and imperative that we push the boulder into motion
For a beautiful world to exist in the future.
Us doing so in one way or another shows we are capable of gradually acquiring maturity and wisdom,
And in a world of mature and wise people,
The power structure our corrupted brothers and sisters created will be overthrown,
And the dream world we hold dear will finally become a reality one day.

He

He took a puff
Turned his head to me
Leaned in and
Exhaled into my mouth
He said “give me your tongue “. I did

Follow The Yellow Brick Road

I trot along the yellow brick road
In search for something I need,
Passing the Lion, Tin Man, and the Scarecrow,
But not interest in any of these three.

I'm off to seek something bigger,
Something only the wizard can award.
It is not to take me to my empty home.
Something greater I have in store.

I have no need for bright red shoes
Or a dog named Toto; I already have three.
Or to be zapped back to my home on the hills,
Or a fairy, a witch, or a monkey.

A crystal ball would be nice to have,
But friends, I really have plenty.
I'm eager to pass through Munchkin Land
To grab a few lollipops for the journey.

I've come to ask the wizard
For something I can't ever do,
For something I prayed so long for;
Even my God hasn't pulled through.

I've seen this man grant many wishes.
When I was a young little girl
I thought it couldn't hurt none,
So I'm here to give it a whirl.

I am asking the wizard for a baby,
For I never could conceive.
Though I try so hard so many times,
I want this more than the air I breathe.

And once he grants me my wish
And places a seed inside my womb,
I will request that he fly me back
To a home with a nursery room

Where I can rock my baby in a chair
And sing lullabies to it all night long
And envision our life together
Inside our souvenir crystal ball

My home won't lack from silence.
My heart won't lack empty space.
My dreams will have come true.
I will be kissing my baby's face

JUST SAYING III

The whole truth is rarely heard
gullible folks believe every word
The liar you can't believe a bit
without even trying we forget

The guilty must tread lightly
mostly deaf hear slightly
The eternal flame remains lit
What happens is 'shit'

The smart gets branded a nerd
liberal left truly depicts absurd
The precarious aren't so sure
grown-up doesn't define mature

MUSIC 'A TRUE SAVIOR'

I know of 'A True Savior that can actually be confirmed as real
learn of Euphoria nothing else comes close to making you feel
After lending an Ear you will become a true believer forever
you can count on it being there for you always and whenever

What I'm eluding to is as significant as anything on this Earth
indubitably a miracle with a price tag of immeasurable worth
I define it 'amazing' for it's unique ability to mend a human heart
the hopeless can become rejuvenated by it's inspiring push start

This wonderment has capacity to surface every emotion we own
this particular phenomenon may even stir up a feeling not known
My inexplicable love and appreciation of it surpassed paramount
the times it induced crying or utter elation I can't begin to count

Everyone has the capacity to listen but sadly far less actually hear
until one does it's true Magic can't possibly be heard crystal clear
What I speak of makes you uncontrollably Jump, Dance, and Shout
someday most will experience exactly what it is I'm talking about

Without question the Power I preach about is guilty of healing
relishing arguably life's most relevant gift never requires kneeling
It's influentially touched each ever born and I don't mean maybe
all the above is saluting A True Savior... aka 'MUSIC' baby

Darkness Falls

Tears roll down my cheeks tonight
The soil beneath my feet in blight
Is it because I stand upon
this earth, to spread my poison on?
The darkness inside
Spreading outwards to destroy
Noone to protect you
Or hear you cry
All alone you'll be
Just as I
Walk in my shoes if you dare
Only then will you know
The root of my woe
The reason I despair
