Auguries of Innocence (By William Blake)

To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

A robin redbreast in a cage
Puts all heaven in a rage.

A dove-house fill'd with doves and pigeons
Shudders hell thro' all its regions.
A dog starv'd at his master's gate
Predicts the ruin of the state.

A horse misused upon the road
Calls to heaven for human blood.
Each outcry of the hunted hare
A fibre from the brain does tear.

A skylark wounded in the wing,
A cherubim does cease to sing.
The game-c*ck clipt and arm'd for fight
Does the rising sun affright.

Every wolf's and lion's howl
Raises from hell a human soul.

The wild deer, wand'ring here and there,
Keeps the human soul from care.
The lamb misus'd breeds public strife,
And yet forgives the butcher's knife.

The bat that flits at close of eve
Has left the brain that won't believe.
The owl that calls upon the night
Speaks the unbeliever's fright.

He who shall hurt the little wren
Shall never be belov'd by men.
He who the ox to wrath has mov'd
Shall never be by woman lov'd.

The wanton boy that kills the fly
Shall feel the spider's enmity.
He who torments the chafer's sprite
Weaves a bower in endless night.

The caterpillar on the leaf
Repeats to thee thy mother's grief.
Kill not the moth nor butterfly,
For the last judgement draweth nigh.

He who shall train the horse to war
Shall never pass the polar bar.
The beggar's dog and widow's cat,
Feed them and thou wilt grow fat.

The gnat that sings his summer's song
Poison gets from slander's tongue.
The poison of the snake and newt
Is the sweat of envy's foot.

The poison of the honey bee
Is the artist's jealousy.

The prince's robes and beggar's rags
Are toadstools on the miser's bags.
A truth that's told with bad intent
Beats all the lies you can invent.

It is right it should be so;
Man was made for joy and woe;
And when this we rightly know,
Thro' the world we safely go.

Joy and woe are woven fine,
A clothing for the soul divine.
Under every grief and pine
Runs a joy with silken twine.

The babe is more than swaddling bands;
Throughout all these human lands;
Tools were made and born were hands,
Every farmer understands.
Every tear from every eye
Becomes a babe in eternity;

This is caught by females bright,
And return'd to its own delight.
The bleat, the bark, bellow, and roar,
Are waves that beat on heaven's shore.

The babe that weeps the rod beneath
Writes revenge in realms of death.
The beggar's rags, fluttering in air,
Does to rags the heavens tear.

The soldier, arm'd with sword and gun,
Palsied strikes the summer's sun.
The poor man's farthing is worth more
Than all the gold on Afric's shore.

One mite wrung from the lab'rer's hands
Shall buy and sell the miser's lands;
Or, if protected from on high,
Does that whole nation sell and buy.

He who mocks the infant's faith
Shall be mock'd in age and death.
He who shall teach the child to doubt
The rotting grave shall ne'er get out.

He who respects the infant's faith
Triumphs over hell and death.
The child's toys and the old man's reasons
Are the fruits of the two seasons.

The questioner, who sits so sly,
Shall never know how to reply.
He who replies to words of doubt
Doth put the light of knowledge out.

The strongest poison ever known
Came from Caesar's laurel crown.
Nought can deform the human race
Like to the armour's iron brace.

When gold and gems adorn the plow,
To peaceful arts shall envy bow.
A riddle, or the cricket's cry,
Is to doubt a fit reply.

The emmet's inch and eagle's mile
Make lame philosophy to smile.
He who doubts from what he sees
Will ne'er believe, do what you please.

If the sun and moon should doubt,
They'd immediately go out.
To be in a passion you good may do,
But no good if a passion is in you.

About this poem:
This poem has always caught my attention, especially the first verse.
It certainly makes you think about life and its consequeces.

Auguries of Innocence is a poem from one of William Blake's notebooks now known as The Pickering Manuscript.[ It is assumed to have been written in 1803, but was not published until 1863 in the companion volume to Alexander Gilchrist's biography of William Blake. The poem contains a series of paradoxes which speak of innocence juxtaposed with evil and corruption. The poem is 132 lines and has been published with and without breaks that divide the poem into stanzas. An augury is a sign or omen

If I could change the world

If I could change the world there’d be peace and harmony
No one would be homeless. No one would be hungry
I would stop all the wars and bring our troops back in
The only reason to go overseas would be to give other’s life again

The children will be our future and there would be no hate
Love would flourish freely because we’ll all have faith
And no one from nowhere could tell us that we’re wrong
Because we will only hear a living song

If I could change the world there’d be no need for guns
For any animosity would vanish ‘cause peace has won
No one would go out stealing or killing to stay alive
For we would pool all our resources to help everyone survive

No race except being human would be on our minds
We’d focus on our planet and leave racism behind
The trees would be replanted. The food would begin to grow
Because chemicals won’t be around to poison the earth no more

Our children are our future. Don’t bring them up to hate
Teach them the values of life and all should participate
Don’t let our past mistakes be the burdens that they bare
Teach them to love honor respect and care

If I could change the world there’d be peace and harmony
Love would be as abundant as the sum of all the seas
With all of us working together all of this could be
And all nations around the world will be free

~You’ll never know~

I may be lonely alone all the time
I may be crying myself to sleep at night
I may be thinking of you wherever I go
But if this is true you’ll never know

I go to work and make it through my day
I don’t hang with the crowd; I have no desire to play
I’ll listen to my music some fast and some are slow
But if I am missing you you’ll never know

I’ve tried to get over it, the memory of you
There really is nothing for me to hold on to
You left the movie before the end of the show
But if that hurt me you’ll never know

We shared some good times the best I ever had
Recalling those memories always make me sad
These mixed emotions make my head spin to and fro
I want you back with me but you’ll never know

I ask myself every day why did you have to go?
If I was bolder I'd tell you so
I need you in my life your sunshine helps me grow
Yes we can make it right but you’ll never know.

Daddy Said

She put her hand on his hands as he laid there on the bed
She knew they didn’t have too much time and this is what she said
Daddy you were always there for me
You raised me to be a good girl as you bounced me on your knee
You taught me how to be a lady just as easy as to climb a tree
I hope I’ve made you proud of me

Her dad opened his eyes and looked at her teary face
As he wiped the water away he said you know I’ve got to leave this place
I have a lot of faith in you and I know you will be strong
Pretty soon I will be gone but you with have my love to carry on

I remember your first word, first step and bicycle ride
I remember when you fell and I held you as you cried
We went out for ice cream and your smile brightened my world
I want you to keep it in your heart that you’re daddy’s little girl.

He said, I’ve always been proud of you when you’re a lady or tomboy
Every little thing you’ve done has brought me so much joy
And though I don’t have much longer I want you to know
You’re my precious Angel and I love you so

They held on to each other tight as he took his last breath
She held on to the memories long after his death
Now when she feels discouraged, lost or out of her head
She pulls herself together remembering the things her daddy said.

~FREE~

I am not defined by what others think of me
Not by my race, my face or what they think they see
There are no boundaries to what I can become
I am a musician, I beat my own drum

I am in charge of what I do in my life
When there is red tape, I am a knife
The will to succeed is not a strong wish
I will not drown because I am a fish

If things don’t go well, I don’t beat my knuckles raw
When a door closes, I am a saw
Not a queen, nor princess, nor Lady Godiva
But when I see a boulder, I’m a pile driver

So it doesn’t matter who’s in charge
When I want to achieve something I go large
I can become whatever I want to be
I am a human and I am FREE.

The promise…

I broke a promise to my heart. It would not open again.
I promised it would be safe for I would not let anyone in.
I told it we would stay alone and not pursue a fantasy
I said I would be satisfied with just it and me.

I tried hard to hide it away, to keep it out of sight.
Even from desires that plagued us thru the night.
We were very diligent steadfast and so strong.
There was no way possible for us to go wrong.

When a man looked my way, I’d look back with evil eyes,
And that would be enough for him to pass us by.
So why really upon a dare did I go to that place?
Why did I turn around to see your gentle face?

Why were you poised there with such a wonderful smile?
Why didn’t I get up and go outside a while?
It was my heart that saw you and guided me that night.
My heart whispered to me and said it would be alright.
My heart saw something in you that I could not see
So actually my heart broke its promise to me.

Whisper...

As you whisper in my ear, memories of passions past appear
I feel your breath as it warms my soul, gentle caresses so sensuous and bold
You say “I love you” At least that's what I heard
and see fantasies of us together in each word.

It takes me to places in my mind, the places that only you and I could find.
The feeling I have for you is real. I’m guilty of this love. No chance for appeal.
I will be here for you. There's no doubt, love is amazing once it’s found out.
I want to so badly to bein love. Your whispers and touches are all I think of.

I would never leave for my heart is true. I will always take care of you.
I wish us together forever my one. From day in to day out from sun to sun
From the moment I saw you, I knew. My heart began racing and fluttering too.

The more I think of it the more I know. This is a love I should allow to grow.
Together the future is ours to share. Whisper again. I know you are there.

Good Morning My Love...

Good Morning My Love. How shall we start the day?

Let us begin in our usual way.

A quick little kiss, a brush of the thighs.

A sensuous snuggle and meeting of eyes.

A tantalizing memory of the night before,

A teasing reminder of begging for more.

And thus it begins, the passions unleashed.

How hard we both struggle to contain the beast.

But alas, too late we’ve been overcome,

By desire, by yearning, by pressing lips. Yum!

Take me my lover, my man, my friend.

Take me over and over again.

Come touch my body with your gentle hands.

Bring me to ecstasy until I can’t stand.

And now as I caress your body my dear,

Just let yourself go. Don’t have any fear.

You whisper so softly, “Oh baby. Don’t stop.”

As I nibble your manhood and drink every drop.

Our bodies entwined in passionate splendor.

Our sexes scream out in utter surrender.

As we lay heaving and shudder with delight

Alas my sweet prince, again it is night.

Inspired...

You are the stars in the sky of my darkest nights
During the day you are my sunlight
You are the clouds in the heavens, the face in the moon
You are my brightest morning and my beautiful noon

You are the inspiration which makes my love abound
You are the world that my arms are stretched around
You are my stallion, my knight, my love
You are my blessing sent from above

You are my lover, companion and friend
You are the reason I can live again
You are my better and you are my best
You are my shelter when I need to rest

You are my journey, my reason for life
My heart, my soul, my paradise
You are my joy and the song that I sing
My love, you are my everything.

SOMEONE TO SHARE...

Happiness through togetherness
Fulfillment in your life
Whether it be a companion
Best friend, husband or wife

Having someone special
To share triumph and downfall
Makes life worth living
And brings joy to all

No matter how hard it seems
Or how dark the skies become
There's always a bright spot
When you share it with someone

Being alone can be so hard to do
No one is there to tell your troubles to
You listen for answers but hear your own voice
But someone else's opinion would give you a choice

So when you find the answer
And accept it in your heart ?
You have made it through
The very hardest part
