Changing Course

I'm done writing about
All the scammers and players
That don't carry any clout

Because we all know
They'll rob us of our glow
Our peace, love and sanity
With all their vanity
Layer by layers

There’s so much more to me
Than words of disdain
Like the courage to be free
All the people I love
And walks in the rain
Of these I’ll speak of

I’ll write about stars and clouds
I'll shout out loud about
Mountains, snow and rainbows
Soft blankets of mist
And magical secret windows

Being caught in a storm and butterflies
Not the lows anymore, rather all the highs

Because we all know that scammers and players
Will never know the depths of love and compassion
They are all just unspeakable hate purveyors

Poets feel, we’re real and we can communicate with passion
That is why I am moving on, changing course and taking this action

My poison pen is retired
I refuse to be mired
Get myself all wired
I'm done, and I'm tired

I mean it, so, in any event this is sent
To let you know I’ve had my say, said my peace
I have to admit it was such a great release!

I needed to write about not writing about the players...and I feel better now. My Dad had that Irish wit...and used to tell me "consider the source"....enough said! Peace everyone!!

Castle coffee

Come join us at the long table with torches
hung from castle walls
Bare foot maidens dressed in velvet and white
Tis an evening we'll spend in enraptured delight
Harpists will play as black panthers look on
The knights pour the coffee dancing with song
Come take your first drink from goblets of gold
And toast to your spirit this potion so bold
The first sip has you floating as cloud horses
sweep you up
Another sip and you'll be happy we filled the
whole cup
A marching band of purple ants step in cadence
across your fingers
You slipped your mind in your pocket and for
the evening it lingers
The toothpick people had the wizzard arrested
But it never went to trial and was never contested
So drink up O maidens and knights do the same
And fret not of the stories of those gone insane.

Stars

There's something in the Stars
It doesn't have to be so far
To capture the sparkle of a ball burning bright
It's not hard to wonder at an ever glowing light

There's something in the Stars you see
Ponder a Star and you will agree
Just look up at them and see what I mean
Magic in the glimmer and the sheen

Cast your love inside the Stars tonight
I told you there was something there all right
Maybe it's the love or the magic that's in you
We all have a universe of Stars inside us too

Each and every Star holds something really special
Something awesome that takes you to a new level
Beautiful and wonderful, so awesome to revel
Basking in the transcendent light
Believe in love on a Starry night

Now dazzle at a Star if nothing seems to faze you
Knowing that a single Star has the ability to amaze you

Into the Night

As the cold winter air touches my nose
The white snowflakes comes down in a rush
When they hit the ground – all turn into slush
My face and my nose are like a red rose
A deer runs by and stops quick in a pose
I round up the dogs and tell them to mush
A bellowing wind blows in like a gush
It howls like a wolf – that’s how it goes

Along the way I hear a shrill call
All the birds of the forest take flight
In the distance I spot a large tree fall
Suddenly I pause and then turn to the right
The woods look like a forbidding dark wall
As my journey proceeds into the night

When We Meet

When we Meet

When we finally meet
Expectations laid aside
In the moment we abide
Silently we speak

In a language unspoken
Our glances unbroken
Like the woven fabric of batik
Eyes meet
Connecting dots and lines
Impressions that defines
The unusual and patterned
Our thoughts a bit scattered

We take a secret picture
There is no retreat
Push through to complete
Thinking of this mixture

Of the anticipation
The sweet flirtation
A new sensation
Needs no narration
To describe the elation
In that perfect moment
The sum of the quotient

Our gaze stays focused
Moving in harmony
Flowing perfectly
Thoroughly, artfully
We're transposed
Quite exposed

Its only me and you
So, without further adieu
Anticipating activation
Like a standing ovation

Our lips part to breathe
Quivering underneath
Enveloping the dream
Of a kiss so extreme

It ignites a glowing flame
We have to exclaim . . .
30-Love -That's game
Not about who won, just
About the magic that's begun

The Long Kiss

If you love a kiss
Long and very slow
Until it will blow
Your mind down to your toe
And that is your one desire
The perfect kiss you want to acquire
Such a beautiful wish this kiss
You have all the parts in your brain
To just let go and not refrain
From the passion you feel
Of something so real
As the breath and taste and linger of a kiss
Awesome and delirious, such heavenly bliss
You start out slow and let it go
The feeling is building like a crescendo
Right when you reach the top
You know you don't want to stop
Pushing past into an erotic zone
You lose your mind it's totally blown
Where you are now is anyone's guess
The feeling is almost impossible to express
The pure beauty of such a sweet caress
You begin to confess
I really want the rest
Of what this kiss became
We're not to blame
It's the passion in the kiss
That brought you to this
The secrets that hold bliss
In the never ending kiss

Where for Art Thou Ragdolls

Embedded image from another site

Mamma, I had my rag dolls on my chair
Sitting in my room and now their gone!
‘Are you sure they were on the chair
They didn’t just vanish in thin air’!

Maybe this is what happened . . .

Raggedy Ann was playing the part
Of a Lady in love in a castle far away
Tired of waiting for her Lord to return
She wandered down the hall and did stray
Happening upon the dimly lit dining hall
She helped herself to a little sip of brandy
Feeling lost without her Raggedy Andy
Who is pretending to be the castle Lord
That comes to find her fighting to the death
With his mighty shield and Nerf sword

They love one another right Mamma?
‘yes, dear, but let me finish my drama’

Now, there are at least eight rag dolls
In this house, maybe more, I’m not sure
And I’ve seen them in every room
In every form of costume
They’ve been thrown on the floor
Hidden behind locked doors
Flopped on and under chairs
Found among your teddy bears
Left abandoned on the stairs

Crumpled in corners amongst the dust bunnies
Don’t laugh, this lost rag doll situation isn’t funny
Broom handles we had to use to retrieve
The rag dolls we found way under your beds
That fiasco rescue resulting in bumped heads
Why these rag dolls get lost is hard to conceive
And you know how many times I’ve tripped over them
Missing rag dolls are turning our house into mayhem

Admit it love, they’ve been all over this house
Been found in more places than a castle mouse
Their everywhere and they always go missing
There is no need to blame your sisters

So, the very next time your rag dolls are lost
Probably tomorrow or the next day, I’d say . . .
I want you to pretend that they are fair maidens
Held captive by an evil wizard in a far away castle
Peering out a window as they tug on a velvet tassel
In order to save them and rescue them again (and again)
You need to gather a formidable army and saddle your horses
Enlisting your sister Knights to join up with your search forces

Interruption . . .

What about Lord Raggedy Andy that comes to the rescue
Fighting to the death with his mighty shield and Nerf sword?

Pause …

Lord Raggedy Andy is a spy and was tried in King’s court for malicious lies
Honestly, he wouldn’t have been much help, remember, he has button eyes!

Well, his shield and his Nerf sword were not fit for battle being way too soft
Oh, by the way, I think I saw your rag dolls out in the barn, way up in the loft

Go look! And if you find your rag dolls you can have a piece of candy
I’ll be waiting here in the dining hall, just having a little sip of brandy

Smiles

What makes you smile
Really tickles you inside
Tingles your heart
Giving emotions a start
Someone that is far away
Or someone meant to stay

Smiles produce a vast array
Causing us to sway, even pray
Like child’s play we give way
To the beauty a smile can express
There’s nothing better or the best

Smiles, fertile and worthwhile
Very different and so versatile
Softly innocent and tender
Emotions meant to engender
Hoping to invoke splendor
Sent by unknown sender
Until we surrender

Under the spell of a smile
Hoping for love worthwhile
Smiles they could beguile
Sometimes once in awhile
Take on a unique style

Can smiles really be felt
Over seas and long miles
Causing our hearts to melt
Sending much love to many
Until frowns there aren’t any

Go ahead and smile today
Feel a smile come your way
Imagine love and don’t dismay
Smiles chase your blues away
Smiles are not just cliché’
Friend, smiles are here to stay

Coffee and Poetry

Embedded image from another site

Poetry reading first thing in the morning
Goes perfectly with a nice hot cup of coffee
Nothing is more beautiful than this dark elixir
Mated with a little sugar and light cream mixer
As it swirls in your cup and revs up your cells
You begin to contemplate as if under a spell
Of that bitter little bean that reins so supreme
This umber dark brew is a drug-induced dream

Reading words brought to life by your poet friends
Taking you on life’s tours like video camera lens
Imprinting indelible pictures delivered by their pens
As you read and sip you savor the words they spin
Visions their painting from thoughts deep within

Ah, coffee, some call it cafe’, still some say Cuppa
I just call it sweetly every morning “come to mamma”
Now I’m thinking about how many poets the world over
Are sipping their brew and writing their little hearts out
Percolating on those dark alluring coffee beans no doubt
Climbing to such creative heights with deep soulful minds
Coffee and poetry are synchronistically aligned

Time for another wee cup, as some call it a “cup of Joe”
My secret blow of magical beans that sets my mind aglow
Allowing me to experience the depths my thoughts show
Of the pageantry that poetry delivers like a sinful gateau
The only thing missing in this picture is my fabulous beau
If my coffee would only help me write him into existence
How awesome, yes, the ultimate pièce de résistance

Love for You

Sometimes when I think of you
I hardly can believe
How this love had its debut
What miracle helped it achieve
The deepest love I never knew
This love I shall never leave

Longing for you every minute
My life would be nothing without you in it
With all the words written and said
There is still so much more unsaid and unread
We have the rest of our lives to unravel the thread

Sometimes overwhelmed by love I cry
I really cannot even explain why
My feelings for you are just so intense
Through emotions and tears I try to make sense
Of how blessed I am to have you in my life
Calm and peaceful, now free from strife
Sometimes when I think of you
I admit to myself that I never knew
A love that is forever is in my life
