Grrrrrrrrrrrr! Biff. Well, OK, Ma'am. Paw extended, and a roll over. Tail tucked where the sun don't shine. I have been many names, each lasting a number of years. As a young boy I was Robbie. Then it became Bob, especially to mere acquaintances. Soon thereafter, beginning with lady friends, Rob. My amateur radio call sign begins with double A, so while local club pres., it was (to fellow hams) "double A", which of course doubles for Aaltarboy. After way too much edumacation, I became "doc", then with even more book learning, "docdoc". But my most delightful ever was "Dada", beginning two decades ago. Throughout my life, the ladies have often began with "lovie" or similar. Oddly, this rarely failed, if given enough time, to morph into "A--hole". Don't get it. Many CS girls will, though.
And, TG, our twin girls are still way to the alt left, politically. Didn't get it from Mom or Pop. Indoctrination in the alt left government schools. Home schoolers all know. But now in their early 20's, we notice a few changes in other directions. What do you call a Conservative? A Liberal who has been street mugged, no?
Yes, TG. LC and others here, esp. Biff, all have great points. Sure it irks many to see such strident, one sided, closed minded (including my own at times, although I try) echo chambered viewpoints everywhere. But it pays to try to see the validity that exists on the other side sometimes, for it truly exists. And, who would trade life in much more totalitarian, or even one party (PRC, Cuba, many others) regimes for our messy, often conflicted, partisan, slow moving, lobbiest infested, over taxing/spending, etc. ones? Democracies/parliamentsary governments/republics---Godess bless 'em all.
JN. Not when the Steele nonsense document gets properly vetted, and not when our hero finally releases all those redacted FOIA documents. Then the yellow puddles will really begin, with indictments and jail time. Ooooooh!. Leg tingles.
BTW, sweetie, while we are on the topic of English grammar (doubt there's any other on board in that pretty head), wouldn't one better keep the modifying words in the same grammatical genre. I'd replace unable, with inability. But pereat all pedantics,no?
Twin doctorates, but who's counting. Soon a third, perhaps, if I can stand to be around proto Barristers/Solicitors for a few years. And I'm proud to make grammatical and spelling errors a plenty, in all 4 of my languages. Portuguese next. Tata, hot stuff.
And the obvious corollary to the above rant is, whenever we see something in the actions and thoughts of others, especially when it seems annoying, always, ALWAYS, look inside ourselves to better understand this, and to act more appropriately. We are often at the bottom of, or at least SOMEWHERE in the complex causal web of, our interpersonal (and many other) challenges. Basic prevention for lots of possible errors.
Yes, MB. Apart from the clear irony you present, the are some truths therein. For me it involves our motives, and of knowing ourselves enough to break the denial and other self protective ruses we all use, to disguise such. Know thyself if a lot deeper than most of us realize. No?
I thought one could only apply for asylum in the first new country one enters. But Asylum only for young hot women, while our Brilliant POTUS is rearranging things.
JN. Nowhere near the wasted taxpayers' dollars on Mueller's Safari for witches. Loss of Lawyer's license for Lewinsky lies, etc. Most attorneys would find this meaningful.
