RE: a thing of value

OK, so little miss guilt over Quisling dad again joins in with her tight arguments. And the sage wisdom of the public school faculty class, such as it ever is, again strikes with devastatingly tight, non ad hominem arguments. Perhaps I'm going to begin to vet posts for quality and depth. Except when I could use a good laugh or two. Tata.

RE: a thing of value

Hey, man. Take a walk on the WILD side. Argument and facts, instead of sticks and stones, will break my bones.... Beyond pathetic. Government school teacher caliber. The laughs never end here.

RE: DELICACY : PINAS PUTO

I recall that a certain miss Quisling Dad took me to task once for one of my planted misspellings. I'm watching for the erudition and sloth, and see " filapino". Can't make this stuff up, all you grads of public institutions..

RE: Displaying Tolerance

Figures, degree in edumacation. Probably math or science, which may 'splain some of the ridiculous postings on such. I taught in both Government Democrat run schools, and parochial ones (Sisters of Mary---Jesuit wannabees), before getting some real degrees. Still retain all four HS certs. Science, health and Language-foreign. But who's counting, as with real degrees?
The non aggressive pose ain't all bad, in proper circumstance, and with the right child. But the best teachers rarely get that far, allowing their ability to schmooze with the whole groups to make for an atmosphere of mutual respect, and trust. And fun. With lots of humor. some appropriately self depreciating---they eat it up. The brighter more grounded kids soon get it, and exert peer pressure on the more needy, and less talented---ie, the future marginal teachers of the world.
You need to try to stop trying to cast about virtue, and quit spending time collecting victim badges. Ever dividing by race, gender confusion, etc. It really is about different sorts of power, of which force and surrender are usually least effective. Blog to follow.
And even by new gray beard is superior.

RE: All is prepared for my birthday - sort of!

P, not only do you seem to have a great Mom. But you appreciate her. The latter sometimes refers to lovingly setting maternal limits, no matter how much it all rests behind love. How's the job working out? Manager yet?

RE: Time to heal

Real education, real makeover, and real dog. Can't make any of this stuff up. Hugs and kisses.

Another potential benefit of the Virus...?

Yep, CC. Movement of people is rarely not prompted, or unaccompanied by, societal changes, among many other things.

Another record

Gerne gechehen, GG. Wie immer, Ich stehe Ihnen zur Verfuegung.

Another record

Thanks for a nice posting, GG. Yes, the old eagle eyed Gnome caught the Freudsche Fehleistung. But they usually are full of lots of thinking. Cousins to dreams, as you will know. Anyway, you are in great company with these so called slips. We like your Posts and blogs. Even those with a bit of Red Man Bad inside. Don't be a stranger now.

H-chloroquine, Covid-19 therapy and evidenced based medicine....

Stories of the flood. Gilgamesh and in the real Bible...

Yep, B. Kann nur sagen, sowas koennte GS gar nichts anhaben, na? Fuer Conrad.

RE: Trump weaponizes the Bible

OK, why not do so with me in one of my four, soon to be five, languages. Sticks and stones, na na na, and little more. But as always, revealing of the Syndrome. And BTW, bet that hottie Nursie is able only to get by in only one of her country's tongues. Figures. Some know the type.

Humming birds.

Au contraire, Miss G. Just that sort of physical activity can tackle moderate depressive states. Not bad for the body, either. Fairly good evidence support both. Just got back from a long walk with Bruiser to our down town, and the city's bay access launching area. How can you lose?

Taking the ex out to dinner. Finally.

I bet they do. Mom says they do. Mom doesn't lie, well, mostly not. But JFC, friend, you are a catch. Why the Frankenstein pic?

Taking the ex out to dinner. Finally.

No, hot stuff. Just coparents. I'd rather be with miss low class, saggy bottom, half breed, M from Oz. Much better this way, than as with many of my friends, who fought endlessly with expensive lawyers on board. Kids better off as well.

RE: "RAMBLIN MAN"..("RAMBLE ON")..(215)

N. It's a really big town. Perhaps the stop is in a location nowhere near the animals who are looting and burning.. Check it out, before losing a good job.

RE: English As A Second Language.

OK, Cat-man. Nice blog. But it also depends upon the LEVEL of language knowledge. I say this as a person who knows both English and German fairly well, among a few others. Enough to hold a teaching certificate in the latter, and to have studied formally at university in both tongues. Fluency is another topic.
Conversational English, and other tongues, including, apparently, Mandarin, which is often thought of as a tough one to learn, can be learned rather quickly, by immigrants immersed in the culture. There are exceptions, of course, but just discuss the topic with immigrant family members, most of whom, well before ESL, can get by quite well, thank you very much. Which is a main argument against the curse of the pseudoacademic discipline of ESL, on which tons of money and resources are still being wasted. But it does provide employment for folks who are little more than liberal indoctrinators of their students, and are typically otherwise failures in work.and play. Do I digress?
Much less so for German. Six cases of nouns, yes six, as in Latin. Some of which require matching with prepositions, the combinations having different meanings, for starters. And THREE genders of nouns, count them, to boot. Then there are the declensions of verbs, often also with slight, but exquisite nuances of meaning. And to top it all off, there are various forms of placing verbs in sentences, auxiliary and main verbs as well. Finally, while also present in other languages, the POSITIONS of modifying phrases in sentences can greatly change the meanings implied. The closer to the (verbs) at the end of sentences, for words or dependent phrases, the more emphasis on the importance of such.
So I would say that German, at any level of usage, TRUMPS English as a tough one to pick up. To really be fluent in both, of course, is a challenge. but at basic levels, English is a cinch. Yet immersion still is the way to go for most, again at any level.

Memorial Day in the USA...

LT. Thanks. And yes, I do suffer for my art and true talents. My male detractors here would gladly have me drink from Socrate's cup. But secretly, the women here who talk the same way, well, don't you think they worship the very earth I walk on? Can I ever be even closely wrong in that?

RE: Numa Numa

W, So much about God's Numa world I don't seem to get.

RE: Why I lose my temper

Usha. It's my point exactly.

RE: Why I lose my temper

We never lose our tempers. We only kid ourselves about no longer being able to stay civil. Character, upbringing, temperance, and such. But fair amounts of that about. Just watch the language here and elsewhere from the alt lefties. And compare anarchist rallies with any meeting of tea party folks. The during and the aftermaths. Clear for all to see.

RE: Time To Consider Lockdown Possibly ‘A Colossal Public Policy Calamity’

Good points, C. I'd add one more. Over sized, debt inducing, federal bailout program. Mostly aimed at the corrupt and poorly managed, mostly minority, all Democrat and statist, US state non-governments. Paper pusher jobs, and over kill benefits, pay and pensions,--- all unsustainable. Democrat mantra---never wast a crisis.

Humming birds.

Well, OB. That would explain the supply of protein. Sugars only go so far.

Humming birds.

Yep, all. Natural beauty is curative for many, especially if it comes from being active out of doors. Sure, I can be inspired by all about me. From the funny looking tiny thrips under the microscope, to the stars and galaxies through the telescope. But it's always a balance. And when the depression gets too severe, different forms of help might be needed. The trick is to recognize the need, ditch the denial, and get help finding effective help. On this last one, trusted confidants/family and luck can be involved. As is perseverance.

RE: "THERE IS A GOD"

Yep, N. There is a God, and she ain't me......Old saying for old coots, in AA.

Humming birds.

OD- I always wing it, (pun intended) as with my spices when I cook. Then put it all out and wait a day or so as the birds know what they prefer. Then depending on the traffic, I adjust accordingly. A pair just tanked up, so it's likely OK. Love to watch these foo fighters fend of the Jays, Cardinals and other birds many times their size. We little guys like to see that sort of thing.

Most grounded/honest women get it, but all real men do.

I see cracks surfacing. Just as planned. Don't stop.

Most grounded/honest women get it, but all real men do.

Valid point, W. Thanks. Yep, in armour, on the armoured steed, tilting the jousting lance. You get it, friend. But I still had to buy take out Covid- 19 lunch for all of us. Women. Can't live with them, can't live without them.

Intimacy, folks, intimacy.

So, all, as the blog evolves, we now are hitting pay dirt on the topic at hand. I'll hold my tongue for now on the physical changes that require open discussion in forming a committed relationship, as the years go by. But it's a valid area of exploration. There's plenty to focus on of an interpersonal/non-physiological nature. Secrets of our past--individual, or in our family lines. Also, accomplishments to be happy about. Lots more, but I'll bet that the best approach in forming a relationship is to be open---both in terms of our revelations to the other, and in our assessment of what others reveal. Sure, there are things that are non-negotiable in vetting others, but it's always about balance, and judgment, and trust, and hope/good will. Never forget to have fun along the path. Nighty night.

Vierk gnome gets to use some of his favorite terms.

All, (mostly), thanks for the evolution of the blog you all provide. To me, this is one of the best aspects of this great CS site. Sure, we are all here for various entertainment like reasons. But underLIEing it all is a search for committed love, or at least a search for understanding why such has eluded us. And if we are clever in this pursuit, we benefit by carefully vetting the potential others may have to fulfill this role. So the blogs, forums, and other ancillary features of the CS site offer a wonderful chance to learn about ourselves, while we learn about others, and each of our worlds and circumstances. But, inter alia, let us not be blind to the potentials for rank deceit and manipulation. Potential for drama a plenty. And for lots of fun. Be grateful for it all. Why, a mere two decades ago, we'd all be writing paper letters, and chatting on the phone. Now cool to live in interesting times. Sweet dreams (mostly) all.
