Do the crime---pay the time. Ride bikes like a knave, wind up in your grave. Big differences among civil society in having sympathy for any of it. And for many, the stories are all common and boring.
You are so right, Micman. I've always thought we as a nation need to do more to try to make things right---really never possible. I actually worked with the health needs of these wonderful folks, and had a proposal to begin a Medical School mostly for them, which would include a division of their medical traditions. They'd also accept a few non FP's, to help spread the word.
Dem. POTUS in 2020. As predictable as the libs here dissing Justice K. And their polls all saying witch Hillary was a shoe in. All this did was set a few activists up for felony investigations, set women who tell shrill tales of woe back by decades, and activate the Trump base. House likely, with smaller margin, and Senate, for sure. You might think that after trying similar tricks on our Brilliant President with no success, they would keep a lower profile in these adventures. Biology is destiny.
CS friends. Please spend 43 minutes listening to our Senator Collin's speech on her vote confirmation. She mentions how the new Justice actually countered challenges to Rowe v. Wade on procedural grounds. And opposed policy favored by the Bush admin. In similar ways. Can't wait now for a red November. The Dems' true character is clear to all with eyes and ears. Now there are tingles down both legs.
Great post. Many of us treasure our childhood Memories, as do I. But still working on trying to forget the priests and other men in our church. Almost there. Worth all the hard work. And the tincture of time.
Funny posts, JN. Of course if the vote to end cloture in a few minutes goes the right way, after SC Justice K. is confirmed, Justices Pirro and Barrett will be on deck. Might be a little harder to pull the same stuff with a woman, but who knows?
Thanks, Micman. Well, I respect her for that. But her alt left life long ultra feminism has hurt family values a good deal during her long life. Plus she seems to be loosing it, so who can really interpret what she says?
Yes indeedie, fellas. And more than once she referred to a male legislator as ma'am, and vice versa. And who would you rather look at, this old prune, or that hottie Judge Bennett? Oink oink.
BTW, it would be instructive to check up on the validity of the "masters degree in Epidemiology". These are typically granted at schools of schools of public health, and are often thought of as a status course, along with biostatistics, at such institutions. Perhaps a masters in something much less cognitively challenging? Health education, with and extra class in epid. ? Just wondering, as I've seen these types of females before.
Y, B, U, LJ--- Good points. This example of so called mercy killing is said to be more common in war than we may think. And not just of the enemy. And it happens in medicine, usually "indirectly", regularly. Just two weeks ago, we siblings decided, along with Mum's Doctor, nurses and hospice nurse, to have her sent home, where she always wanted to pass, for "comfort care only---no special efforts", to be in the very helpful home hospice care. She may have been in mild heart failure, could have had an infection, and had a worrisome bed sore. All this in the context of end stage Parkinson's illness. She remained alert, only marginally so, until almost the end, but wasn't taking food, and we could only get her to take a few ice chips. In theory, all of her issues might have responded to extraordinary interventions, and perhaps she would have been with us a little longer. But it all had to occur in hospital, and would be no fun for anyone (Feeding tubes, etc.) So she only had us with her, along with hospice staff, to provide comfort, which included a little morphine and anxiety medication. Very gentle death, with eyes looking at some of us, and a trace of a smile. Lots of other such examples of ? Mercy deaths. As with CFM, lots of things have their place, in well vetted and relatively rare circumstances. And never just for convenience, or gain for others.
OK H. Same here. This platform rocks for much more than searches/introductions/etc. I even get a kick out of teasing from time to time, as some do with me. It is also a learning place, as we all have interesting backgrounds to share.
Epirb--- think the judge could use his own rescue beacon? Or will the overall cloudiness of claims, the legal assistance in making such, the decades long time frames, the countering eye witnesses, the neuropsychiatric issues surrounding trauma memories, the support from many women who know the judge, the judge's developmental age at the typical dates of the alleged events, the stellar professional/academic record of the nominee, the methods and timing of the allegations, and much more,----keep the few important senators on their original well reasoned course? Testimony might help. Just remember, as messy as this has become, we live in a system where there is still hope that the serpentine process is better than in many other places.
Yes, JN, and thanks. We are six together, with my being the oldest, and therefore the victim of being will executor;-) We all pretty much get along, but oddly, one of my B-I-L's is a tree top Budinski, over the whole affaire.
Thanks, all. And Berry, inability to appreciate cynical sarcasm often goes along with a lack of worldliness. Doubt you have done so or know what is involved in being executor of a will. But more to the Men/women dynamic, interesting how your take was chiding, rather than instinctively supportive. Instinctively chiding. VERY instinctively chiding.
Yes, JN, and thanks. Did dad's eulogy extemporaneously, and it wasn't bad, but Like a ditz, neglected to mention his military service---very important part of his life. Sister's talk on our mom was awesome, and funny, and she prepared in advance. Real fun begins now with work on the estate. Good that all six of us get along and aren't fighting over things.
Yes, CC. That would be an awful scenario. But it happens often that many die estranged from family. And leaving things to cats, beyond modest care for their remaining years, is OK, but with so much need in the world, the above and beyond could go to charity for humans, or helpful institutions, some of which could be for animals as well.
Easier, much easier, to ditch the term WH, if we saw Hillary and her documented actions getting anywhere near the Trump derangement treatment the biased liberal media keep on faking about. Multiple times daily, on countless media, stridently continuing now like this for GOING ON TWO FULL YEARS.
Thanks for the tangential non info, JN. But the fact of the original blog/forum remains huge. Impeach-o-meter dropped back down to the 10% range. Even in the face the shifting House phantasies, as misdicted by the same biased media polls that would give us Hillary. Tingles now down both legs.
