RE: Apologize or Never Apologize

It can from being doted on or having a Victorian Dad. There are people never grow up and there are people who never had a so-called childhood. Narcissism single-mindedness that may or may not be spoilt. It does not occur or cannot afford to be your fault.

RE: Why does a woman sign off once i send them a message ?

A face like yours should be able to handle rejection. Show us your inner strength

RE: Is this whole feminist movement good for men.

The last one isn't just the women I think the attitude of a paying customer creates a broad sense of the woman's prerogative in both women and men. Money is itself entitled the prosperity of society can only bring men closer to women in their attitude to life and each other. Customer is always right/the woman's prerogative are obviously not democratic or liberal in any real sense of that word.

RE: Is this whole feminist movement good for men.

A narrowing that comes with depth. Society in general doesn't exist but you do have a deeper personal relationship within your own milieu. Effectively personal problems are doubled and your vision of the outside world is halved under the influence of women. The closely-knit replace the broad and shallow networks of society and you're left with is situation of trying to make society revolve around an individual or small group. Women will try to make a rule out of the exception until mass society becomes ungovernable, it's her prerogative.

RE: Is this whole feminist movement good for men.

And they're related. The fact that women don't want to marry men who make less money then they do is part of the reason why the elites and sub-elites speak a completely different language to the people, and it's partly the reason little the elite and sub-elite have little perspective on what a real problem is. What a woman isn't is familiar with people from all walks of life, what the rise of women represent is a great narrowing in the number and type of people you will trust and relate to.

RE: Is this whole feminist movement good for men.

And the feels-based sense of equality makes a mockery of social justice. A spoilt rich girl can feel more hard done to than a starving family and this leads to feminists lecturing people in poverty about privilege. You're only the victim that you feel you are meant that the elites could feign a hard life, and this hard life feigned has eclipsed the conversation around all our real problems.

RE: Thinking.....Broadly.....and not a little.....sociopathically....

Any nation would become more far more competitive if their old and sick get taken out by a vicious flu. Like the harsh winters of climate change its Mother Nature’s euthanasia.

RE: Winner Take All

As a consumer you want winners takes all. You want ALDI to obliterate Sainsburys. You want the best bang for your buck.

But as an employee or a citizen this might not be the case. You might cutback on capitalism if you believe there's a surplus of Christmas presents and shortage of well-raised kids and dedicated parents. If your society was capital rich and time poor then winner takes all is bad because of low prices, low wages and low parenting. Your time being worthless therefore you can spare none comes with a social cost.

RE: new Serfdom ?

A better way of owning the means of production is for most of the population to own shares. I do think that capitalism competes the real economy into a corner and comes to concentrate wealth far and away from the little people without another mechanism to distribute wealth.

RE: Too much social media, in kids, can lead to mental and physical illness...

Posterity is supposed to be weird and what might seem like unwholesome behaviour now could be just what the future fancies. When I was a boy they told us you couldn’t make a living playing video games, and now we do make a living playing video games.

RE: Job Interview

Think of the worst situation you've been in in life and remember that it passed. That's gone now, but you are not. You might find yourself going to the interview by comparing it to the worst thing ever - because it isn't the worst thing ever. Far from it.

RE: Bernie joint favorite with bookmakers for the Dem nomination!

I think he'd do better than Corbyn because of who he is and because a few more ordinary Americans are woke to the degree of student politics.

But I think the students understimate just how much like Ayn Rand the younger generations are. Sharing is old school and anything like that would have to tied in with conservative politics and tight borders for it to win. But what would do better on the left is Gordon Gekko plus being able to identify as a teapot.

RE: Buckingham Palace Responds To Meghan & Harry Canada Move Rumours

Royalty is an anchor of stability based on emotional repression. More than anything else the character of nobility exists to avoid being swept up in the madness of the moment. It is consciously fashion proof.

RE: Infant and maternal mortality....

And just as blacks would thwart any and every attempt to be like Scandinavia the progressives likewise harm the blacks with their bright ideas and assumptions of enlightenment.

No the first rung of modernity is unregulated capitalism and a leader who rules you like a king. Believing in a god is probably more important if you’re black.

RE: Your partner's overweight.

Widespread obesity is the only thing that could happen considering today’s fast-food culture of instant gratification and a genetic disposition to eat like there’s no tomorrow. It’s not historically usual for man to be in a position of turning down food is what should be remembered by we lucky few with the disposition to turn down food. Perhaps more of our ancestors were tribal chiefs used to having plenty.

RE: Artificial Intelligence.....

More than anything else the internet saved us in the Great Recession and it’s ironic how the capitalist system was saved by a mans refusal to privatise the internet like Jonas Salk and the polio vaccine. Anyway the productive potential of these machines is enormous, personally I wouldn’t mind if the banks collapsed again and we were then forced to build up the new industries.

RE: Another possible breakthrough in TD-HDS natural history...

He understands that artificial intelligence relegates 80% of the workforce down to the level of an ape and sees Trump as the outcome.

RE: Why?

Certain people may want to consider that Trump and Brexit were both created by a bureaucratic jobsworth who gives regulation a bad name.

RE: As with Chairman Mao's little red book....

Uptight would be a much more accurate description of conservatism, it's not unkind although it might look that way if you're non-uptight. Either through scarcity, danger or age conservatism is the increasing awareness of your own death and the need to preserve what you've known, build a wall around it. What conservative welfare will be is more thought through. Conservatism is consolidating what was at one time curiosity.

RE: Stunning Landslide Conservative Defeat Of Socialists In UK Spells Doom For American Democrat Party

Democrats should definitely play safe rather than try to be something unnerving in a completely different way to Trump/Brexit.

RE: The British election....a cautionary tale....

The liberals should change track and become proper full on classic liberals. Adopt the policy of unfettered free trade and mass immigration with lower tax, forget its old allegiance to the native working class.and like I say become more like the classic liberal from the 19th century to rival one-nation conservatism. The left and right is obviously changing and I believe it's now more along the lines of the 19th century where conservatism primarily means patriotism and respect for tradition and liberal means pro-business, pro-modernity. I see the tribe of libertarians who worship the market being replaced by actual conservatives and the left becoming what they were. Maybe through another Blair the Left finds more of what it should be these days.

RE: The British election....a cautionary tale....

Yes, it's nationalism they're endorsing not capitalism and small state individualism. Boris want to some length to avoid looking like a Thatcherite in his bringing back of one-nation conservatism. It's the cultural and identity policies of the left people are rejecting, but they don't believe that the rich aren't rich enough. Nationalists like the SNP do as well if not better.

RE: Extreme thrill seekers...I often wondered.

The meaningless and forgettable sense of adventure endemic to our shrinking world, the day we reach the stars can't some soon enough. You just wish people risked their lives for more of a reason.

RE: DEPLORABLES OF THE WORLD! UNITE!!

Hence why the wages won't budge and people are still getting poorer relative to the more important things you need to buy. 80% of the economy is downgrading in skill and quality to a shared minimum, whilst a 20% becomes incredibly intelligent.

RE: DEPLORABLES OF THE WORLD! UNITE!!

There's probably some truth in it. Trumpism includes the Cartmen wing of America and the cowboys to lower standards in every sense of that word - with predictable results. 60% of new jobs are as bad as the bottom 20% of jobs used to be and there's a new low in what is legal to put into sausages. The middle class as you know it is bleeding out and before long you'll be using the English definition of middle class - a small and professional elite amounting to perhaps 20% of the population. Which is where socialism comes from. With all the debt and corner-cutting in the world the majority cannot reach the middle class. A new low in public conditions complemented by a burgeoning proletariat whose personal finances are a detritus.

RE: Canabis - Healer - Psychotic - Could not care less

I wouldn’t smoke it morning, noon and the night unless you were in a lot of pain or were a particularly aggressive person. Better off sedated. On some occasions you give it to someone in a drunken rage.

RE: US job growth roars back in November, with 266,000 added

Better to deal with healthcare as a country so that bosses and workers can focus on their own activity. That’s what I think.

Trump isn’t actually to blame for the shrinking middle class for western competence the writing has been on the wall for some time. Competition intensifying all over the world it would be mad to think we would recapture the old position, a middle class springs up from a hole in the ground by the grace of a post-war world. In today’s world we’re going to discover the inherent contradictions of capitalism.

RE: US job growth roars back in November, with 266,000 added

The soviets used to say that quantity has a quality of its own but Americans won’t be that content with an abundant supply of terrible jobs.

And I would argue that everybody on minimum wage or the majority on minimum wage will increase support for the state because they can’t afford the private provision of basic services. Their wages won’t pay for healthcare but they wont go without healthcare nor would if they could. The new generation is more working class than the old because inequality is too extreme and dispossessing the great mass of society.

RE: Cell phone/smart phone culture....

If you can tolerate boredom then you can resist temptation and stomach privation. Patience is the opposite of distraction. The concept that died with the baby boomers is boredom tolerance, the idea of character-building.

RE: Vastley Enormous & Ultra Skinny

Bad habits don’t kill like they used to and in the modern world it’s on you not to degenerate.
