RE: Joke of the night via James Corden

To sum up my conclusion he's not my favourite person in the world. Liberals you need to get away from this affable plastic - this safer than safe blueprint of a human being that is as predictable as it is two-faced. Trump and Brexit are symbolic of a demand for real personality and an earthier feel to rebel against the androids, people don't want this wet-middle class nice guy that isn't even nice.

RE: Joke of the night via James Corden

And Patrick Stewart hates him which says it all. Both as an actor and a liberal I've a lot of time for Patrick Stewart when did the rest of you degenerate into a plastic goof who can inspire no real human feeling at all? Patrick Stewart would know what to say to Trump.

RE: Children - Guaranteed to Break Your Heart

The overbearing and forever blameless mother you can't wait to get away from. The world is increasingly about making choices. There's less room for duty in that better life for your kids.

RE: What an average person can do to slow down out of control Global Warming

I contend that what is actually good for the environment revolves a lot around drinking tap water and getting sacked from your job in the media. What eco-friendliness truly implies is the more materially resourceful people precisely what the west doesn't become under globalism. All the recycling in the world will not make up for the pitiful lack in common sense we are creating, it's the bottled water and the tap. Drink the tap water, it's not beneath you to do that it's the right thing to do.

RE: What an average person can do to slow down out of control Global Warming

You could tie it all into home economics. How to vent your home, the best time to cook your meals, which products can be easily replaced by something greener and more resourceful, how to garden with nature and not against nature - in the cities, too. The buildings are far too grey, now I'm not saying we have the resources to build the singapore garden city but it could be a lot less grey than it is.

RE: What an average person can do to slow down out of control Global Warming

Let your lawns and bushes grow out. We need fashion to change, the instinctive reaction to the showhome garden ought to be disgust. As it turns out that more casual family in the house with the wild garden was doing the right thing the whole time.

RE: What an average person can do to slow down out of control Global Warming

Bottled water is the beverage equivalent of driving not only 1 gas guzzler, but having another 99 jeeps you tow around behind you for the sake of it.

RE: The original Sin

Word for word that's exactly what happened.

RE: Checklist for USA.

Make sure you pack lots of praises. Flattery will get you everywhere over there.

RE: What I've noticed

It’s only natural. Trivial prattle belongs here, this is its home. Each to their own is easy to say when you’re behaviour is least appropriate. The idiot locals are liable to feel a whole lot differently about tolerance; they’re the invaded.

RE: Hatred of Trump Rooted in ‘Contempt’ for ‘Regular American People’

Trump is more than a stereotypical American he’s a mega stereotype the clincher for many people is whether they love or hate stereotypes. It should be more complicated than that, but it isn’t.

RE: Greed

And I can see the west growing mildly depressed in that Buddhist way just as every other nation turns into an absolute pig.

RE: Greed

Nobody does greed and primordial ruthlessness like the poor, but affluence grows jaded by its own appetite. New money doesn’t stay new.

RE: The part they don't want you to know

It’s a good economy for elite workers and the expert coordinators revamping the economy, but the average man has never been less necessary. Won’t be much in the way of general pay rises no matter how low the unemployment gets. The market says cut off the masses and make it to the top.

RE: "MADE IN CHINA"

We don’t want our only “job” in future to be absorbing the wealth AI industry can produce.

What we should do is expand the earned income tax credit - government money for small busjness - with twice the funding and half the conditions. The main purpose of the 21st century job is psychological well-being I hope the right learns to be more lenient on crushed competition because that completion will be roughly 80% of the human race.

RE: I have messed everything up!

There needs to be much less apology. No one’s died. You made a mistake, can we get through it? Ask her that. 80% of the time a woman will forgive anything you do if you do.

RE: A Liberal's dilemma

How did college work when you were a boy?

I know college used to be free, was it free there or just ridiculously easy to get a grant? The young are paying for a whole range of things you got for free after having worked much harder for their money in the first place. It's going to add up to something anti-capitalist.

RE: What Is The Number One Threat To American Success Today? The Socialist Takeover Of Our Schools.

People in the west are free to do what they wanna do, that's what it is. We have to import dull workaholics from terrible, grateful places or build robots, it isn't usual for them to arise genetically.

RE: Why there are Democrats for Trump

The average man is less socially liberal than a democrat and less economically liberal than a republican. He's not in love with foreigners or the rich.

RE: Ten ways we could fix broken Britain

Only solution is similar to Japan but the opposite.

In Japan the people are such proper grown ups - disciplined, resourceful, wise and the rest of it - that they don’t exercise their own purchasing power. They’re too humbled and talented. And in Japan this creates a situation where everybody is wealthy but no one spends their money. The Japanese government buys on the behalf of live beneath their means citizens and it’s creating imbalances.

Anyway it’s now official government policy in Japan to tell it’s people to take it easy - do order that desert etc. Stop underliving your life, you’ve suffered enough.

Now we need to take the same drastic revision of what we consider economically worthy, and invert it.

RE: Ten ways we could fix broken Britain

Although personally I'm not in favour of constructing lots of home or if it was they'd be a very temporary definition of a home. What happens when the baby boomers do die off? Ghost cities. We need to be planning for the idea that we reduce our population this century, it's a necessary.

RE: Ten ways we could fix broken Britain

50 years a Victorian.

I don't know if you saw that thread about drug trials? But we're talking the opposite attitude to that. We need undergrounds built in major cities, land reclaimed from the sea, the people on welfare assembling toasters and kettles, the energy network needs overhauling, and sleeping six to a room. The reason I mention the drug trials is that you have to be prepared to die; the prior era of precious will be met by an equal and opposing period of fodder. The ageing population and undoing of the debts will be paid for with many young lives.

RE: DECLINE OF UNIONS IN AMERICA

A union is only as good as the people involved and ff there's no good faith there's little point in a union. This isn't Scandinavia, or 1952 and not everybody is a teacher or other professional humanitarian.

RE: A Liberal's paradise

And we less than happily provide for criminals. We know how they choose to provide for themselves and prison is the better atlernative.

RE: A Liberal's paradise

We'll happily pay for children and the lame. It's not their fault they can't provide for themselves.

RE: When Conservatives Lose Elections They Change Strategy. When Liberals Lose They Change The Rules.

To conservatives I say think for yourselves. Don't get bowled over by how excited you are.

To liberals I say have a good think. Come up with something that might one day go somewhere. It's back to the drawing board for you ladies and gentlemen.

RE: When Conservatives Lose Elections They Change Strategy. When Liberals Lose They Change The Rules.

Which was basically how fascism developed. The leader is one dynamic individual who may at one have been on the left, but the fans are more scripted than anybody. It was a strange alliance between the maverick man and the more than conventional.

RE: When Conservatives Lose Elections They Change Strategy. When Liberals Lose They Change The Rules.

A bit true this time maybe. Brexit and Trump in a sense the right has become the left by standing for changes.

But we never quite got over Obama’s birth certificate or Hillary’s emails. I would say the same thing about Trump as I would Brexit - the conventional votes maverick. It’s not going to come up with any new music or cultural output, what lurks behind Trump is Pence. The Donald is all the personality which might eventually become a problem.

RE: Is there a place for Paganism, Witchcraft and Wicca in today's world.

I say concentrate on the answers that are actually there as though the future of your privileged scientific civilisation depended on it. The new age and postmodernism, the rainbow of mysticism all begin to lose to the Bible bashers as they render us bankrupt and starving.

RE: Why I've been gone

I hope everyone’s rallying around you there. We are in hospital now because my mum has lost the use of her a**. The stoma bag. Will it be permanent or won’t it be permanent?

I’m anxious right now so I can’t imagine what you must feel like and although I can’t really do anything to help from 5000 miles away, if there’s anything I can do to help please don’t hesitate to ask.
