Good point, Raphael......but with bin Laden out of the loop and his intell in our hands.....if there was a alQeada/Pakistani nuc hand off being planned or a Iranian/alQeada nuc trade off being planned....then we got a chance to make it public and to stop it.
We have a chance to know the alQueda weapons suppliers and possible WMD providers now from this intell. To know his finiacing operations and his bank accounts.
Even to the men inside Pakistan that were facilitating bin Laden's presence there. When we learn their names and ID them......we act on it. Either in a public disclosure that gets them removed from office and position. Or some covert operation that simply get them removed.
I would say the next target(s) are a few more radical Islamist types. We got a treasure trove of intell from the bin Laden compound. Computers, papers, 17 new detainees at the government's expense (from what I am hearing).
We were there for 40 minutes. The death of bin Laden likely happened in the first 5. And the compound was secured in 10 minutes. Giving them 30 minutes to hunt for the intell.
24 SEALs can search every room in that compound in 30 minutes time. There might some hidden safe that did not get detected.....but if it was in the open and around a desk..... it is now ours.
But this goes to the general liberal European thinking of how to handle Islamic terrorism. Their thinking is ......have a success and sit on your butt and let the world congratulate you. They have not realized that the US has been in a 10 years war with these guys.
And we getting ready to put a lot of them down....either down in GITMO or down in the briney deep with bin Laden. If Obama has his act together....and it actually appears for the first time....he really might have it together because it took some khonies to order the bin Laden compound assault.
Then he is pressing the CIA to work that new intell..to get it translated and into the hands of contingency planners. Were the operations are planned. The sooner done, the less time the bin Laden's fellow radicals have to scurry under the rocks and go deeper underground.
So Mr. President has a window of opportunity here to safe guard the next generation of Americans and Westerns. This is a real game changer event...the take down of bin Laden...but the advantage needs to be pressed to it fullest extent. Germany just had a detected alQeada plot in the country. European countries should be coming to us and asking for shared intell from the bin Laden assault. If I know our people here, they will do everything possible to facilitate that.
And while this serise of take down happens...in the middle east, in Europe, in the US....we can expect some dangerous times. These Islamic radicals, like bin Laden, are killers....plain and simple. They don't care who they kill, were they kill, when they kill for their beliefs and Jihad.

This is a old question. How about General Perez Musharref....who first formed and equiped the Mushadeen to fight against the Indian army in the disputed Kashmir region. Then this Mushadeen group later moved across the country to aid in the Afghan fight against the Russian. They later became the Taliban.
Do a search of Pakistani Army's "Operation Cargill". In which the Mushadeen were first used.....and ordered into battle by General Musharref.

A little deduction. SMK gave up most of his intell during the waterboarding sessions. GWB's CIA agents were all over SMK to give details on bin Laden and his methods. Then.....if you remember it got to the SMK's military trials in GITMO.....SMK and the others clammed up.
But I give Obama's CIA credit for connecting the dots here. They were smart enough to check the earlier intell from SMK and compare it with the intell they were getting from Pakistan on bin laden courriers.
Actually if you look at the compound.....via satellite imagery.....is more a prison that a fortress. Only one entry point. High walls with barb wire on top. Compound buildings with few entry points.

I have noticed that about Pakistan. This is not my first time to peak into your country from above. It is a heavily military facilitied country.
Which does surprise me. That Islamic terrorism....like the Pakistani Taliban, LET, alQeada and several others groups....has such a foot hold there.
Sure in Indian, Pakistan has a neighboring country that is hostile. But that is mostly the Khasmir region. Yet you look into Pakistan, you have military facilities all over the country.
With such a strong and centralized military.....how does Islamic terrorism seem to dominate the country strong in military power? The Pakistani military goes into the NW terrorities and then leaves. Halts for winter. Calls for ceasefires. Never really getting any success against the Islamic terrorist.

I am taking a look at your fair city (Abbotabad) on Goggle satellite. I don't see many resorts or hotels around around. There is one golf course. The terrian is rolling hills and there is not a major road in the area.....or city.
I do see military complexes. I see military housing. I see Military motor pools. I see military radio towers. I see military college or officer training facility. And many modern houses. But hey you lived there, so know more than me or google earth satellite. The images were done in 2001 and 2005. They likely removed the military facilities after bin Laden moved in 2005.

Honestly Ray....do a little addition. bin Laden is killed in a major Pakistani military city by a US covert operation. Does it make more sense that he was a creation of Pakistani? Or group of Pakistani military? Think about it.

The city that bin Laden was found in.....Abbottabad.....is military city. Reports here is that a two Pakistani military facilities....one 150 yards and the other 1.5 mile are from the compound were he was found.
So maybe our Pakistani OP.....can tell us how a massive compound....8 times the average size Pakistani compound...... owned y two alQeada couriers..... with out any visible means of support.....was not known by the Pakistani gov't or military?

To meet Muslim religious law, the burial needs to occur within 24 hours of the death. They gave bin Laden a Muslim burial and select the ocean....as a site....so not have a land grave that could be turned in to a shrine.
Not sure if it accurate info.....but FOX said that the US government offered bin Laden's body to the Saudi Arabia. They took dna samples and expect soon photos release by the Federal Government of the body.
I suspect that there were many Australians, your countrymen.....that were happy to see the atomic bombs dropped to end World War II with Japan. Just a guess there.....that Australian that had been captured by the Japanese and were in POW camps....were in fact elated.
