RE: Blah Blah Blah...

Can someone mail me when we reach thread number 999 so I can be the last poster this time? grin

RE: Omagh peace march

It would just stengthen their cause by creating more martyrs. We can't risk another Bloody Sunday either. We had 30 years of blockades, guns, watchtowers, kidnappings, bombings and killings and it changed nothing.

I seem to remeber that the peace process was instigated by the Women's Peace Movement followed by the father of one of the victims of the Omagh bomb. Sorry I don't remember his name but he put peace ahead of thoughts of revenge and I found him to be a great example.

Mickey Harte attended the funeral inspite of his own recent grief to show solidaritry too and I would ask any of the bombers or their sympathisers to question his patriotism.

So I think we just keep protesting in thehope that ordinary people can leave their loved ones in the morning with full expectation to return to them at night!

RE: Ice Road

In the spin off, it shows a truch coming off a cliff and its flat bed trailer explodes when it hits the bottom. This only happens in Hollywood which leads me to believe that there's lots put in just to hold your interest. conversing

RE: CENSUS IRELAND 2011 !!!!

I live alone so I filled it out weeks ago. I realy have no problem with it and who knows, 200 years from now, some future ancerstor will be on the series,"Who do you think you are?" and there will be some mention that OI actually existed.laugh

You do realise that 100 years from now, there will be little to no memory of any of us. A sobering thought!

RE: Do you rember your first snog

You sneaked that one in and kept it very quiet! Who, where, when and how.....and did anything else happen?writing

RE: Should novels specific to events like this be banned?

Well, would banning this have made any difference: (notce it was published 14 years before the Titanic sank!

Futility, or the Wreck of the Titan

I was hunting the net for another book that I can't find. It predict Pearl Harbor years before 1941! And banning that would not have stopped it.

The truth is that whether terrorist or legal war, there are set rules of engagement that are followed. When it comes to terrorist cells and the like, the book was written by those brave men and women of the Maquis (The French Resistance of WW2).

The pincer movement that armies follow today was invented by Chaka Zulu against the British.

There is nothing new in any book when it comes to military action.
