RE: Car smoking ban ......... are you.......?

I usually steer with my knees whilst I hold my coffee in one hand and my electric razor in the other. grin

RE: Price of Diesel

Same here in Clare. No differential between petrol and diesel. And yet they tell us the Crude Oil Price is low! confused

RE: Xfactor

Jaysus. Last week someone used the word 'predictable' and now it's up there with,'You took that song and made it your own.'

I think we need judges capable of original thought. mumbling

RE: Meals for two

Couldn't agree more. Years ago Delia Smith wrote a cookery book for singletons called 'One is Fun.' I think she should be prosecuted under the trades descriptions act. mumbling

RE: idiots guide to parallel universes

That would be my understanding of it too! thumbs up If you read Richard Bach's 'Bridge Across Forever' you'll get an idea.

RE: Music for the Midnight Meat Train....

Creepy Stuff....Makes me think of the original Omen movie....Gregory Peck rushes to the church with the child Damien to kill him....but is shot dead by police in the process.

On the album ,'Welcome To My Nightmare,' this is paired with 'Years Ago,' which is just as creepy!

Ancient Message

Written across the wall of the cave were the following symbols:

It was considered a unique find and the writings were said to be at least 3000 years old!

The piece of stone was removed, brought to the museum, and archaeologists from around the world came to study the ancient symbols.

They held a huge meeting after months of conferences to discuss the meaning of the markings. The President of the society pointed to first drawing and said:

"This is a woman. We can see these people held women in high esteem.

---- IMAGE REMOVED because photobucket.com no longer allows embedded images ----

You can also tell they were intelligent, as the next symbol is a donkey, so they were smart enough to have animals help them till the soil.

The next drawing is a shovel, which means they had tools to help them."

Even further proof of their high intelligence is the fish which means that if a famine hit the earth and food didn't grow, they could seek food from the sea.

The last symbol appears to be the Star of David which means
they were evidently Hebrews."

The audience applauded enthusiastically.

Then a little old Jewish man stood up in the back of the room and said,

"Idiots...Hebrew is read from right to left... It says: 'Holy Mackerel, Dig The A* On That Chick"

RE: Post Something Inspirational

Sadly, like Fitzgerald's Great Gatsby, we can't repeat the past. We can't stage manage and re-direct the players for another take. We can only move forwards. But it is our choice as to whether we take our hearts with us! sad flower

RE: Greatest Album of ALL Time

At last. Someone who shows ELO, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Eagles and all the rest to be the charlatains that they are. Zlad is brilliant. I've never heard such well thought out and meaningful lyrics. And the special effects.....what a performer?

RE: Old style parish politics, will it ever end?

Well, Enda Kenny had a meeting with Angela Merkle today. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall. I can't help thinking of that scene out of Blazing Saddles! rolling on the floor laughing

As long as I'm above ground.....the rest I can handle! grin

RE: Old style parish politics, will it ever end?

Since somebody mentioned cancer, something struck me having watched the RTE program about the downfall of the FF government.

Was it a good idea to have a man, namely Brian Lenihan, negotiating with international bankers and trying to get us out of the financial mess we seem to be in, when he was suffering from a terminal illness. I know it makes him seem very noble but would a healthy individual not have perhaps got us a better deal? I'm not faulting his commitment but let's face it, he was a lawyer, not an accountant and he was a very sick man.

RE: So what is China up to

It's a huge ECO friendly wok that uses the sun's rays. Beef curry and fried rice for the whole population. laugh

RE: >>>RUSULTS<<< LUCKY LOVERS GAME

Fortunately mine is already a good friend. yay

RE: Minimum priced alcohol.

They are limited to what they can do. People will just head north of the border. Already, Morrison's are offering 3 slabs of cider / beer for £20 over the Christmas period for the UK compared to Tesco's here in the republic who are doing 2 slabs for €30.

RE: dating woman with young kids!!!!!!!!!!

I'm the opposite I suppose since I have no kids of my own. If I see kids, I think...What toys have they got I can play with? What childish things can I do with them? yay

RE: Great Night of Tv

The BBC's junior Apprentice is on at the same time and frankly, this year, much better than the adult one.conversing

Sorry, Mario Monti is the new Italian PM.doh

RE: An open letter to Irish politicians

Am I the only one to notice that Lucas Papademos, the new Greek Prime Minister is a former official of the European Central Bank and that Mario Monti is a former EU comissioner?

Neither of these people were elected to these offices by their citizens. Where's the democracy? It's pretty clear to me what's going on. The non elected European Bureaucrats are taking over and not a mention of it in the press. conversing
