No Vinny but what they've taken is chicken feed compared to what these others have been legally allowed to help themselves to on account that they make the rules. The bailout and not your taxes are paying for EVERYTHING in this country at the moment. But if you want to go down that line, why should a single man with no dependants pay tax to give millions is child benefit to people married or single who should not have been popping out children they couldn't afford to support. And this is cash used for 3 holidays a year, cars and mortgages on houses.
So please be even handed if you're intent attacking those on benefit. There are lots of parts of the system I don't agree with but if we allow the clowns in the Dail who couldn't run a raffle to interfere with it, then by the time they've finished, there will be no welfare, pension or health care for any of us.
I couldn't agree more. Those that rule us must be delighted that we are once again at each other's throats. First it was the public Vs the private sector. Now it's attack the unemployed for making a couple of quid on the side. We will soon see headlines where they've retrieved perhaps € 1 million. And amongst all that, still, not a single banker will pay back a single penny of their bonuses. Not a single public servant will be held accountable for not doing their job in regulating the financial system (in fact they'll be given large pay offs with pensions and a better job in Europe) and not a single property developer will be brought to court.
Lets be honest. We're attacking the people who cannot defend themselves. This is not a fair society and is in fact a very poor excuse for a republic of equals.
I'm going to try to be less selfish and concentrate more on helping others. I'll give that about a week before I start getting in my own way again. But we'll try anyway.
