I'd love to give the philosophical reason for saying NO but I suspect that fear of death or the unknown would make me take the pill and I reckon most people would be the same. How we'd feed all the people on the planet is a different matter.
Jaysus. Christians have been putting people to death for centuries for the same reason. In fact, they've even been putting other Christians to death for having slightly different beliefs.....Is it the blood of Christ or does it represent the blood of Christ....heavy philisophical issues like that!
It was originally a game played with a pigs bladder between neighbouring villages in England. That was the birth of assosciation football. It was then made popular around the world in places like South America by Scottish engineers who took a ball with them for leisure time and the game was adopted by the locals. South American teams became proficient by playing on sand in their bare feet. When they got boots and grass, they were way ahead of everybody else.

A lot of that stuff is middle class twaddle advertising a lifestyle only available to those on RTE salaries paid by you and me.....just like the late late toy show at Christmas.
It's not about having a say. It's about asking them to make uninformed decisions they are not in a position to make i.m.h.o! I believe it is a parent's job to act in the best interests of the children and not avoid the responsibility of hard and unpleasant decisions.
The psychiatric wards are full of people who hear voices yet we build an entire philosophy on the second and third hand written accounts of people like these who are long dead and who did not share our views or our lives.
Jaysus, can't you Irish do anything right. Never ever evict a family from their home unless there's at least three feet of snow. Didn't you learn anything in 800 years.
RE: If you could take a pill right now that would make you live forever, would you take it?
