I knew finding a woman with nothing to say would be impossible even if it was just that she had nothing to say. You proved mine! grin

RE: Irish oil worker kidnapped in Algeria

Oil companies operating in Africa are little better than terrorists themselves. I don't believe for 2 minutes that Al Quaida were involved in this.

They (the oil companies) have been reported as creating and arming their own police forces, for causing huge ecological disasters which are a danger to the life of locals which they do not clean up and for dumping toxic waste.

For some reason, oil companies are above the law and normal commercial conventions. Let's not forget that they have been handed the oil reserves off the Irish coast...... practically free of charge.

RE: Paying for extras

Well, I went for a Royal Thai Massage last week and I was quite happy to pay for extras. grin

RE: First Cousins Marry

There's no great secret here. All the European royal families were related whether they be Russian, British, German, Greek etc. And traditionally royal blood had to be married to royal blood so it was quite common for first cousins to marry. This incidentally would have been fairly common in rural and island communities where there was no huge gene pool and up till this century, no easy way to travel out with their communities.

Also, where land is involved, it is not uncommon for family members to marry to keep that land within the family.

There is a price to pay for this. The British royal family have been plagued by mental disorders as well as Haemophilia...The Madness of King George, The son of Queen Victoria who incidentally was suspected of the Ripper murders in Victorian London, who was quietly locked away till his early death. Charles and Diana were the first to break the tradition.

RE: Irish oil worker kidnapped in Algeria

Oil companies have atrocious records of human rights abuses in African countries. Royal Dutch Shell were exposed in the 80s for arming the Nigerian Secret Police and creating a private militia whilst paying their local employees a pittence. Look at the Corrib Pipeline fiasco here.

So, I'd be taking this story with the involvement of terrorists with a pinch of salt. I have never once seen an African nation trying to buy western mineral resources for a handful of trinkets.

RE: Reactivating a profile

I think posting ways to circumvent a ban by changing an ip addy may not be looked upon too favourably from the powers that be. They may find the poster's integrity as a CS member somewhat questionable.

Also, the rules state that nobody gets banned through being reported. They get banned because of their own behaviour.

RE: What is the biggest achievement of man?

Many years ago when I was 24 years of age and living in the Western General Nurses home in Edinburgh, I did it seven times in one night. Never did it before, never since and now, twice would be an achievement. laugh

RE: Do you believe stories that Disney treats their people badly?

What can I say? Minie Mouse is on the game and hooked on crystal meth in New Orleans. Mickey Mouse died a hopeless alcoholic and Donald Duck was jailed for interfering with a minor....a minor bird, that is.

It's obvious to me that there's something very fishy in the Disney Corporation.... probably Nemo! wow

Ah Pedro... you love the flag so much you can't spell it. 'TRI,' not t'TRY.' It means 3 as on 3 colours. Jaysus, it's only 3 letters. doh

RE: Second hand car help

Unless they are low mileage avoid Volkswagen or Ford (my mechanic says the Volklswagen engines are soft..whatever that means and I own a Ford), and any Opel that has a timing chain as opposed to a timing belt.

RE: Second hand car help

I taxi'd with a 01 diesel avensis that had 450,000 on the clock.... it's in retirement but still running. conversing

RE: Second hand car help

You're probably right going Japanese Annie. I have a big Ford myself and as they age, reliablity and wear and tear seem to become an issue.

Suzuki are better known for motorbikes than cars though and for reliability I would urge you to look more for something suitable in a Toyota. conversing

RE: New Zealand cricket

Cricket....... sorry folks. I just don't get it. The only pleasure is watching so called professional English sportsmen getting beaten at their own national sport by a bunch of chicken farmers from some south sea island with a population of 350! You guys in the colonies really shouldn't encourage them. laugh

RE: Song lyrics that just get stuck in your head, remind u of good times or ???

I first heard this song in my cab last year when a girl got in and insisted on playing it to her boyfriend on her i phone over and over abd over again for the half hour ride. I have hated the song ever since. I turned down the car radio every time it came on. BUT IT KEEPS SHOWING UP! HERE IT IS AGAIN ON A WEBSITE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD FROM ME!

Utter tosh and paradoxical. For example... Number 4. You are judged.... I thought Jesus died for our sins... so we should have a clean sheet.
