I don't like it but it is music or possibly poetry set to music. I don't think there is a set definition for what music is. The same thing has been said down the years about everything from Rock & Roll to Punk Rock.
In his day Johann Strauss Junior was seen in his day the same way as he was trying to bring music to the masses as opposed to the aristocracy and the academics. He would have been seen as somewhat common and unsophisticated in his approach.
I joined here in 2006 and finally found the love of my life working on the checkout of the local Dunnes Stores. When I asked God for a woman with money, I meant her own money but other than that, I'm over the moon. Suppose I'll be leaving here soon.
I don't see how anyone can think that a free market exists looking back on the past few years. Be greedy and make yourself too big to fail to qualify for massive government handouts.
By people receiving benefits do you also mean the bankers and the heads of all the multinationals who have received huge government handouts. Or is it only ok to attack the poor.
If you sit back and say nothing, one day they will start locking up Americans without charge and without counsel. I understand you guys are pissed off but this is a very slippery slope.
Ah, the chronic alcoholic who put tanks onto the streets of Glasgow during the general strike of 1926 to attack ordinary people. WW2 has cleansed this man of an awful lot of incompetence.
The country became wealthy by selling off the family silver... BP, GPO, The Power and Gas companies etc and paid for 4 million unemployed with North Sea Oil to smash the unions.
Yes but half the population feel the exact opposite of respect for her hence the rise of Ding Dong The Witch is Dead. An obscene amount of money to spend just to plant her.
I don't really want to get involved in this political tennis match but anyone living here since 2008 is well aware that Irish politicians and the Irish banking sector are not operating in the interests of Ireland. The local ecconomies are not the problem. All profit is sent unquestioned to Germany. So you'd be an idiot to bank any more than to cover your standing orders and living expenses.
There are far more factors than the sun involved. We need the moon to stop the planet from wobbling losing the seasons and making it imposible to grow food.
Remove the earth's magnetic field and we all get irradiated. The same if we lose the ozone layer.
Move the earth further from the sun and we freeze, closer and we fry.
There are too many things which have to be just right for us to be alive at all. I could write a book. I cannot put all these factors down to coincidence. So I believe in some kind of intelligence behind the universe...perhaps that intelligence is part of the universe itself.
I never thought I'd see the day that I'd have to rely on satire to accurately portray history. The BBC and RTE are purely establishment propaganda machines. Thank God for Channel 4.
I do actually believe that the euro is under threat. As to all the European money being currently in the Bundesbank, well that was a fairly elaborate conjuring trick by the German bankers. Odd how Germany have been the only nation to benefit and all rules were changed to suit them.
I've suspected this for some time but I thought it was Germany and not the US who are calling the shots. I do notice that American tourists have been tipping recently in either US dollars or £ sterling so I suspect that in general in the US, that there is no faith in the euro surviving.
Friends in Spain tell me that Germans are now buying up devalued properties.I predicted 2 months ago that the same will happen here when NAMA finally floods the market and all properties devalue as a result.
All European money is currently flowing into Germany... bond holders etc... and they are just waiting to but us out with all the money our incompetent government insist on sending them.
Odd how Germany can be in the Euro but still operate as if the Bundesbank was as independant as the Bank of England.
Try just to get chatting to him a wee bit for a while then suggest a cup of coffee some day. That will give you an excuse to get the phone number. My lady works in Dunnes Stores.... the local supermarket and my house ended up full of stuff I didn't need just to get to talk to her for 20 seconds at the checkout. Three months to ask for a phone number.
Thanks both of you, Jacs and Nuliiiii for your good wishes. I'm so lucky at this stage in life to have found love. I actually rode my bike down a flight of stairs to meet her one day. I've turned into a 52 year old BMX bandit! BTW She's Polish and her name is Gosia! (means Maggie)
I've fallen in love myself and we've been seeing each other for only 4 weeks. I'm 52, usually sensible and very pragmatic under normal circumstances. She's 47 and feels the same about me.
So I can only put this love thing down as a form of insanity from which I hope we never recover..... Did I say hope? I am beyond hope.
I can certainly understand women who have lived through the seventies and eighties seeing her as a role model and to be fair, she never once played the feminist card. She did what she did in a man's world. And I actually do believe that if she had been running Ireland since 2008, the unsecured bond holders would never have been paid.
But I can assure you that very few Scottish people like myself will ever see her as anything other than a tyrant who destroyed our country and all we held dear.
