Oh I don't doubt it Jimbo. There was no fuss when everything from fishing to manufacturing industry was handed over to mainland Europe but there was never a hope in hell of Germany getting its hands on the financial markets when you consider the square mile of the City of London handles 50% of all European transactions. And I suspect it's the tax revenue that Sarcosi had his eye on. For all his blustering, France is as big an economic basket case as the rest of us. If the Germans can't get their money from The French, Spanish or Italians to fund the ECB with a couple of trillion, then the Brits would do.
He has no right to do that by law. He has to give you notice he is coming. I think last winter ruined every Irish person's romantic notions about snow and white Christmases. The country needs to be geared for an anual snowfall so it doesn't grind to a halt.

Incidentally, you'll notice that this has turned into a Franco-German political issue when it should have been an economic one. This is not about saving a currency. It's about saving the European banks which are in the same mess as our own. But I can guarantee you that Italy, France and Germany will burn their bond holders.
I'm sure they'll let us keep the tricolour and we can still sing rebel songs as we live under rule from Berlin !
